License tagging for Image:Du-army.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Du-army.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 17:07, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

An image that you uploaded, Image:Du-army.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Copyright problems because it is a suspected copyright violation. Please look there if you know that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), and then provide the necessary information there and on its page, if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Kubanczyk 17:35, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia is very serious about obeying the law. You have recently stated on the page that "This image appeared in a national newspaper The Daily Star and I have had explicit permission to post it on wikipedia for educational purpose" (emphasis added). Therefore you've made it clear: the image is against official Wikipedia:Image use policy. --Kubanczyk 15:24, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sajeeb Wazed‎

[edit]

An attack article from a dubious source is not enough to comply with WP:RS. Please remove this material, as it is a violation of WP:BLP. Recurring dreams 05:49, 10 September 2007 (UTC) He seems quite happy with his cushy life in the United States, notwithstanding his several scrapes with the law and other shady tales. That is your reliable source? It is a hatchet job, nothing more. Just because it is published does not give it the status of reliable or neutral. Please also see WP:NPOV with regards to the language you are using on the article. Recurring dreams 06:00, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding reversions[1] made on September 10 2007 to Sajeeb Wazed

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Please also read WP:BLP, we have to be very careful then inserting negative information about living people. Please find better references rather than edit war Alex Bakharev 08:16, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot 14:05, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add material violating WP:BLP to this page using an IP address. Discuss the material on the talk page first. Recurring dreams 12:44, 11 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi There. Could you please confirm where you got the six photographs that you used to create Image:Dynasty.png‎? You can only donate a derivative work like Image:Dynasty.png‎ to Public domain if the original materials directly used to create the derivative work (in this case the 6 photographs) are either in the public domain or you hold the copyright of those photographs. If these 6 images are really in the public domain, that's great, please tell us how to validate that and we can use these images in a lot of other places as well. But in case these images are not in the public domain, we may have to delete Image:Dynasty.png‎. Regards, Arman (Talk) 03:57, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
