Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Sign your messages with four tildes (~~~~), be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Information icon Hello, I'm VickKiang. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Thounaojam Shyamkumar Singh, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. VickKiang (talk) 22:41, 20 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Kuki-Chin–Naga

[edit]

Please do not change Kuki-Chin–Naga to Kuki-Chin. I am fully aware that the Kuki/Chin and Naga do not like each other and don't want anything to do with each other, but that doesn't mean you should change the names. Same goes for Balto-Slavic and Serbo-Croatian. These people generally do not like each other, but those are nevertheless valid linguistic groupings. Lingnanhua (talk) 08:36, 26 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Of course, the Kuki and Naga are ethnically different. No one is saying that they are the same ethnic group, since this is a linguistic grouping. Linguistics should not be conflated with nationalism and politics. Same goes for Sino-Tibetan being a valid linguistic grouping, despite the Chinese government and Dalai Lama not being on good terms with each other. Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Yangmaso Shaiza. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Do not add ethnicity in the lead per WP:ETHNICITY. Fylindfotberserk (talk) 13:22, 16 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Do not add ethnicity in the lead sentence. See the above policy. Add in a different section with reliable sources supporting that. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 13:53, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:55, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
