Image of Polo Morín[edit]

I have removed the image of Polo Morín because there is no evidence that it is free for us to use. Policies on the English Wikipedia are very clear: the infobox image of a living person must be a free image. Unless you can clearly prove that the photographer or copyright holder has released the image under a free license, we have to assume the image is not free. —C.Fred (talk) 18:51, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • The second image you tried to add is clearly not your own work. I have removed it as a copyright violation and tagged the image at Commons for speedy deletion. —C.Fred (talk) 19:08, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I added a picture that the own guy posted to his social media (message left by User:KarinaMartinez1 at User talk:C.Fred)
Posting an image to social media does not mean that the image was placed under a free license. Further, if he posted the image, then you are not the creator of the image, as you claimed to be. —C.Fred (talk) 19:28, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
So can I add a picture that I took of him when i saw him? it is mine (FB.COM/MORINTEAM) and Twitter.com/PoloMorinDF — Preceding unsigned comment added by KarinaMartinez1 (talkcontribs)
How did a picture you took wind up at his FB and Twitter? —C.Fred (talk) 19:37, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I saw him back in february and he took a picture of him with my cellphone, and then i sent the picture to my friend Vanessa(twitter.com/Polo_MorinDF) — Preceding unsigned comment added by KarinaMartinez1 (talkcontribs)

Sorry, that's not clear provenance—even though the Polo_MorinDF Twitter feed is a fan club and not official. —C.Fred (talk) 19:54, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

well the picture i took it so i will upload it — Preceding unsigned comment added by KarinaMartinez1 (talkcontribs)

Please do not continue to add a non-free photo to the Polo Morín article, as the photo you are adding was deleted recently as it is not a free image.--Philip J Fry Talk to me 02:17, 24 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

April 2017[edit]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Polo Morín shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. —C.Fred (talk) 19:05, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Polo Morin photo incident[edit]

Hey, there! I just wanted to send you a quick note of encouragement after what just happened over on Commons. I was personally very frustrated with the way this situation was handled, and I hope you don't let it discourage you from contributing in the future. One thing that I think you may have learned from this is that when you have problems with someone, repeatedly insisting on your desired result (known as edit warring) is heavily frowned upon, and instead, when you have conflict with someone, you should always seek to discuss the issue first. And just to give you a couple of pointers, even though it's all the same log-in, each project is independent and represents its own community. So when you were blocked on Commons, you could still edit Wikipedia in Spanish and English. In the same way, each project has its own set of rules and norms, and when editing a project in a specific language (like Wikipedia in Spanish or English), you should always use the language of that project. Cheers, and happy editing, -- Irn (talk) 13:17, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
