Please don’t bite me, I’m a newbie!

I’m a university student in a Wikipedia Education class, and I’m currently learning how to contribute to Wikipedia.
I am approaching my subject in good faith.

If you have any concerns or questions, my tutor’s name is Bcritical (talk · contribs). Thanks!

Welcome[edit]

Hello, Kat7502 and welcome to Wikipedia! It appears you are participating in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to go through our training for students. Go through our online training for students

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Please also read this helpful advice for students.

Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.

Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, and if your class doesn't already have one please tell your instructor about that. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}} on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know this article is a subject of an educational assignment and aid your communication with them.

We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay even after your assignment is finished! ClaudineChionh (talkcontribs) 23:21, 29 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Feel free to write a bit more about what course/s you're taking and what articles you're working on. We're here to help! ClaudineChionh (talkcontribs) 23:22, 29 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

November 2021[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Fyrael. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Western Sydney Stadium, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. -- Fyrael (talk) 18:01, 30 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Fyrael! I've made the appropriate edits and attached a reliable source. Thank you for the notice! Kat7502 (talk) 22:27, 15 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

January 2022[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Smoking ceremony, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. For instance, you added multiple cites to an article on fires, that mentions smoke from fires, but has no content about smoking ceremony - the topic of the article. The article is not about anything having to do with fire and smoke, but specifically about this ceremony. Perhaps there is another article that is better suited for that research. - CorbieVreccan 23:31, 14 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
