User talk:Kauri-kauri
Welcome!
[edit]Hello Kauri-kauri, welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Liance, and I've been editing here for a while. I wanted to thank you for submitting Draft:Samuel Mehr to WikiProject Articles for Creation and helping to grow the encyclopedia! We appreciate your contributions and hope you stick around. I can see you've already started writing draft articles, so here are a few more resources that might be helpful:
- The Teahouse - ask Wikipedians for general editing help
- Articles for Creation Help Desk - ask reviewers for draft article help
- Creating your first article
- Referencing for beginners
- Wikipedia Manual of Style
I highly recommend visiting The Teahouse if you are unsure about anything Wiki related. It's a place where experienced editors answer questions and assist newcomers in the editing process. In addition, please do not hesitate to reach out on my talk page if you have any specific questions. Once again, welcome! I hope you enjoy your time here. ~Liancetalk 16:09, 15 September 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Liance, thanks for your message! I made this account to create a page for myself and then immediately realized that autobiography isn't OK on wikipedia, so stopped (some other people apparently finished the page without me). Have been using wiki informally for many years but now thinking I should return the favour and am starting to get familiar with how things work. Kauri-kauri (talk) 23:36, 19 September 2024 (UTC)
- Hey there! Generally autobiographies are highly discouraged but there is no hard and fast rule disallowing them, so you don't need to worry, especially if other editors have picked it up. I would recommend putting a conflict of interest notice on your user page so other editors are aware. Let me know any time if you have any questions! ~Liancetalk 14:36, 20 September 2024 (UTC)
- Indeed, I didn't want to edit my own page, though, so I left it to other editors, and have disclosed the COI. Kauri-kauri (talk) 03:08, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
