Your username[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created Parasol unit foundation for contemporary art, and I noticed that your username, "Parasolunit", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. I reverted you for a couple of reasons. Before I get to that, I see another editor gave you some info about your username and some problems it may cause. Be also aware of conflict of interest guidelines. Having a conflict of interest is not forbidden but you will encounter a bit closer scrutiny than an unconnected editor. Also if you are being paid to edit, either as a part of your job or as a freelancer (or even an intern) you must disclose that information. You can find the details here: WP:PAID. I don't mean to sound alarmist but this is something Wikipedia takes very seriously and you can be blocked from editing for not disclosing a paid editing situation.

As for your actual edits, I reverted them because the language you used was not neutral per WP:NPOV and was promotional in nature. You are welcome to edit and provide information but you need to strive to edit using neutral language that doesn't promote the subject in a non-objective way. It's sometimes difficult to find a good balance between providing information and promoting the subject. You should also find sources that are independent of the foundation, such as newspapers, magazines and journals. The foundation's website is only useful for basic information and even then, the basic stuff may not need citing (the city it's in for example is non-controversial and wouldn't require a citation necessarily). You can read about citations and sources here: WP:RS. You also added to the existing list of awards. Ideally there would be no list: it's better to present information as prose, with citations. The trouble with lists is that they're never complete and in theory they could go on into the hundreds making scrolling difficult. As well, everything needs to be verified per WP:V. A list of names without citations is a problem. What would be better is to write a paragraph with several examples of notable names (those with articles) and a link to the foundation website which I presume has the list. This would fall under WP:NOT: what Wikipedia is not, which includes advertising, being a web host, social media, indiscriminate information and so on. With a short paragraph and a link, people interested in further information would go to the foundation website.

Finally, adding "Dr." to Ziba Ardalan's name is not permitted. We don't add academic or professional pre-nominals to names. There are exceptions for royal titles, for example, because they are considered part of the person's legal name. The article can mention that someone has a PhD or is a medical doctor but then they are referred by their last name in the article. I'm sorry this is long and I know it's filled with many links. Wikipedia has a learning curve and there are some non-negotiable policies that we all must go by. There's some negotiation permitted with guidelines (thus the infamous Wikipedia wikilawyering that people complain about and not without some justification). But as long as you edit in good faith within established policy and guidelines, there shouldn't be any issues. I noticed you started the procedure to change your username which tells me you understand and accept Wikipedia policy. That's why I wrote all this, rather than discouraging you with "warnings". I've encountered editors who immediately balk at following any rules and they usually find themselves blocked quite quickly. I hope you decide to stay.
