save the amazon rainforest organisation[edit]

A tag has been placed on Save the Amazon Rainforest Organisation, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group or service and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. RyanPostlethwaiteSee the mess I've created or lets have banter 15:54, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do not remove the speedy deletion tag on the above page, words like 'we' should not be in any article. Discuss it on the talk page but do not remove the tag RyanPostlethwaiteSee the mess I've created or lets have banter 16:06, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, leave the page with me and I'll sort it for you. Its just too biased at the min RyanPostlethwaiteSee the mess I've created or lets have banter 17:06, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

save the amazon rainforrest organisation[edit]

Made the page less like an advert so it should be OK now. What you need to do is create a proper intro and in it explain what ICGA and STARO stand for, I know it might seam obvious but it isn't to some people!!! any more help you need let me know, soz for being an idiot before RyanPostlethwaiteSee the mess I've created or lets have banter 17:14, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just one word of advice, write from a neutral perspective, no where in the article should it say 'our goals' or 'we try and save', try and look at the article as an outsider and you'll be fine. wikipedia isn't a blog or a forum, its facts and adverts tend to be deleated quickly! :) RyanPostlethwaiteSee the mess I've created or lets have banter 17:20, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Of course you can contact me if you need help. The most important thing is that the page has been created and not deleated - thats the hardest part. Save the rainforest orgnisation[edit]

Good work with the edit, page is looking really good now. Are you going to add anything else to it? Just seen your userpage as well, looks like your getting dedicated to wikipedia!! RyanPostlethwaiteSee the mess I've created or lets have banter 19:45, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry but thats notin english!!!! All articles have to be in english. This will definately get deleted RyanPostlethwaiteSee the mess I've created or lets have banter 10:45, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Basically you can only have english articles on english wikipedia. There are loads of different wikipedias in different languages, so if you want to add the page in different languages, it has to be on the wikipedia for that particular language. To be honest, it would be far easier just to leave it in english, unless you can be bothered to register with every single language wikipedia that you want to put it on. However if you do want to put it on I'd suggest looking at this as it has a lot of the most comon language wikipedias on RyanPostlethwaiteSee the mess I've created or lets have banter 10:57, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Same goes for Außer der Amazonas Rainforest Organisation and Économiser l'organisation de Forêt tropicale d'Amazone. DMacks 11:02, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Added the italien and french versions of the above page on to their respective wikipedias, sorry but the German version had already been deleted before I could do it. Hope thats saved you a bit of time RyanPostlethwaiteSee the mess I've created or lets have banter 12:09, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It appears you're trying to create the same article in several languages on this Wikipedia. As Ryan says, this is the en Wikipedia and so articles should be in English only. If you need an article translating into English, take a look at Wikipedia:Translation (where you can place translation requests) and WP:PNT - since your Italian-language article already exists here in an English version I'll delete it (not so much because it's in Italian as because it's effectively a duplicate). Oops, i was wrong there. You can request translation both into and out of English at Wikipedia:Translation. My mistake. Tonywalton  | Talk 15:23, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your new edits[edit]

I'm not tagging your new pages because you probably think I'm bulling you but I'll tell you why they are probably going to get deleted. The bio one, fails WP:BIO because theres no reliable sources to show how this guy is notable, and too be honestI doubt you'll find any. Secondally, the brazilnut one fails no original research becuase wikipedias not for publishing reports. Anyway good luck with everything RyanPostlethwaiteSee the mess I've created or let's have banter 14:34, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Basically brazil nut thesis should give an overview of exactly what it is, but should not be directly copied from the thesis. Should include things like 'What the thesis is trying to claim.' As the guy below put it, the way it is at the minute it is just presenting original research and it is a copyright violation! About the bio thing, after a statement that makes the guy notable (as I've said, view WP:BIO to see notability guidlines for inclusion) you should put in a URL as a source, that should be ok, but the guy may fail WP:BIO RyanPostlethwaiteSee the mess I've created or let's have banter 14:41, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Brazilnut Thesis[edit]

Please refer to Wikipedia's policy on no original research before creating articles. Also, your Brazilnut Thesis appears to be directly copied from another source, this could present copyright problems. -Taco325i 14:35, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Post the thesis on the STARO website and link to it from the STARO article here is the obvious answer. -- RHaworth 14:57, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
We're all here to help. It's frustrating at first, but you'll get the hang of editing on wikipedia. Here's what you can do to your articles on Dieter Bratschi and Brazilnut Thesis:
Dieter Bratschi- 1. Read WP:Notability. 2. you should never ever copy and paste content. if you want to write about Bratschi, make it in your own language, don't make it seem like a resume, and thoroughly cite third-party references (which helps establish notability). Check out other biographies such as Stephen Hawking.
Brazilnut Thesis- 1. Read WP:No original research. 2. don't copy and paste. 3. this is an encyclopedia, not an editorial, so you should write (in your own words) about what the thesis is, you should not be arguing point. Remember a thesis is unencyclopedic because it is meant to be convincing. Articles on wikipedia should be objective and factual. Check out other wikipedia articles such as Big bang theory.

Bratschi[edit]

As for Dieter Bratschi, there is a clear COI for you to write about him. Wait until someone else writes the article. Do not use all capitals, it is SHOUTING. Sign talk page entries with ~~~~. -- RHaworth 14:57, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Better late than never![edit]

This should have been put on your talkpage when you first registered. It's not automatic (real people do it, not an automatic bot and many more new users register than are welcomed. So much to do, so little time, etc...) The links in the following message should be helpful, though, to stop you makign what you're calling "amateur mistakes" (hey, we're all amateurs round here, and no-one was born knowing this stuff ;-) )

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Staro logo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Staro logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:50, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Save the Amazon Rainforest Organisation has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-referenced, promotional page for charity that dissolved in 2012. I couldn't find any news coverage or other info on this organization. Doesn't seem to be notable and won't become notable.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
