Holly related changes and rapid undos[edit]

Whoa, slow down here... I'm trying to sort through all of these edits you've made and your response... all of which would be easier if 1) you wrote in English, 2) you stuck to one account. I'm counting two related IPs and then this account and it's hard to discuss things when you keep hopping between them.

I've undone most of the rollbacks and readded most of what you changed, fixing only where you changed the name order. We have specific naming conventions for these... namely that the common name of the plant comes first followed by the scientific name.

Now, I take it your point is that Ilex is a genus and not a specific species so it should be a genus article and not a redirect. That's perfectly fine if that's what you want to do. However, what you have been doing is swapping around names preferring the latin name over the common name. That's not how we do things given the WP:MOS. Moreover, you've been just doing it despite multiple editors other than me undoing these changes. This is edit warring and it is not appropriate.

I've tried to take the time to understand what your completely unexplained edits are doing. While it seems this is done in good faith, we have certain style conventions about naming that you are changing. While I think your edits to the other related pages are accurate, I don't have the expertise to know and this kind of changing without explanation and in the face of other editors makes me concerned.

Finally, there are technical ways to switch names of articles around but it is not by copy-pasting the whole thing over. What you need to do is start a discussion on the Talk:Holly page and wait until there's consensus for that change. There you can explain your argument and proceed that way. But stop changing this unilaterally. Shadowjams (talk) 22:54, 23 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Also, in case you are, try not to use multiple accounts. I found another account that is making similar edits in close succession, and your two IPs that are obviously from the same area. Shadowjams (talk) 22:56, 23 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
