It can be replaced with any photo of the helmet as long as that photo is released using a free licence (the old one was taken from a copyrighted source), the simplest way to get one would be to go to a game and take one . Mtking ^(edits) 08:59, 6 January 2012 (UTC)

If it were only one source reporting it, I'd agree with keeping it out, but it's been reported so widely at this point that it's easier to just let it stay in there for now (and, again, WP:VER applies, unless someone can argue that reporting this widely-publicized story is somehow damaging to O'Brien's reputation); if, by some bizarre happenstance, it turns out to be wrong, then the article can be edited to reflect that fact. And my argument is that news reports that cite anonymous "sources" aren't truly verifiable. A few weeks ago I edited June Jones' page because "sources" indicated that he would be Arizona State's new head coach. Obviously, those sources turned out to be wrong. It's now my policy to leave things alone until the university officially announces it. No source is better than a firsthand source. However, since we can't come to a consensus, I'd prefer to avoid anything that could lead to an edit war (not that you and I would ever come to blows like that) so I've made an edit that should solve the issue entirely. --Kevin W./Talk•CFB uniforms/Talk 07:35, 6 January 2012 (UTC)

You put in extraneous info that has nothing to do with him being able to be interviewed, as in stats about 500yd seasons and such. I repeat the above note about WP:VER. What you've stated above is not a verifiable source. Moreover, it contradicts known, published facts: the Patriots have officially stated that they granted the Jags permission to interview O'Brien. If O'Brien's contract is already expired, why would the Jags have needed to ask for permission in the first place? ETA: As I pointed out on the Discussion page for the article, the fact that his contract expires this year is irrelevant for two reasons: (1) teams cannot prohibit assistant coaches from interviewing for NFL head coach positions (although they are allowed to place some limits on it), and (2) teams cannot stop coaches from interviewing for college positions at all. The only way in which having an expired contract would matter is that he'd be free to interview for other non-HC positions without interference from the Patriots. Given that there are numerous reports (see jacksonville.com and nfl.com for examples) stating that the Jags did ask for permission, I find it much more likely that Chris either mistyped (maybe he meant "end of postseason," perhaps), or that he was simply mistaken. The jacksonville.com article also notes that BOB was scheduled to interview this weekend, but that probably won't happen now.

In any case, though, the assertion that he was free to interview because his contract is/was expiring is incorrect. O'Brien would not be barred from interviewing for the JAX job or the Penn State job even if he were under contract for next year. His expiring contract simply meant that he could also apply for other non-HC positions with other teams if he so chose. Samer (talk) 08:31, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
