Good point...[edit]

A well motivated improvement of the timeline article. However, note, that this (at least then) was not even the opinion of the court, but only of the prosecutor. If the request is granted, then we could add a note about this at the appropriate date, and there mark it as an opinion (or rather qualified suspiscion) of the court. Thanks. And supposedly a lot of the prosecutor's evidence is made up of testimony of rebel-aligned citizens who have fled the country, so I bet it will be a while yet before the court even releases an official opinion. Your suggestion sounds great. Kevinman4404 (talk) 11:30, 19 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not a lawyer; but I think that an arrest warrant does not need anything nearly the amount of evidence needed for an eviction. Therefore, the court might grant the prosecutor's request fairly fast, without hearing any witnesses. We'll see. JoergenB (talk) 15:23, 19 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I'm thinking of him being tried (not that he will be). You're right, I'd imagine. If I can contribute anything to the section of the first half of May I will. I've read a lot of very minor updates, but nothing really earth-shattering... always interesting thoughKevinman4404 (talk) 17:16, 19 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Libyan Civil War[edit]

As it appears we are working together on this, though I support your recent removal of libyafeb17, I urge to not remove this as a source until one of us has time to figure out the origin of the material we need. That is, all the material on libyafeb17 comes from news sources, correspondants, etc. so don't remove that source until the original source can be identified and then we can use that to replace it. • As I see you've already gone ahead and done this in regards to the defection of the certain minister, you should be fully aware that you just deleted information without indicating it to anyone. Thus, if I weren't as observant, I wouldn't know it was gone nor would I know to look for the appropriate source. If you are going to delete information, please try to see if it is properly sourced first. Don't just wildly delete things. Daniel Musto (talk) 05:05, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Daniel Musto, don't worry, I have not done any work on anything before May, and haven't culled any old articles, at least not any from libfeb17. I'm sure some/many of the additions from this source are valid and simply need to be resourced to a better/more objective news source. Some people have used libyafeb17 for opinion-soliciting (I forget the wikipedia term for this), so as long as we're careful things will be fine. Glad to see you're working on this too, especially on some of the older events (as well as adding new ones), best, Kevinman4404 (talk) 05:09, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

EDIT: I actually did indicate which point I deleted. The past information is still there for viewing, and like I said in the comments, simply needs to be resourced. best, Kevinman4404 (talk) 05:09, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • On the note of that defected "workforce minister:" albeit Al-Jazeera tweeted it, I cannot find his name, post, or the topic on any other news site...including Al-Jazeera English so we'll have to assume that is faulty info for now. Also, I know there is info floating around on Gaddafi's sister being in Algeria and Sudan refusing asylum for his inner circle. Daniel Musto (talk) 05:30, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thank you- I'll keep an eye out for both. I did a quick scan in Arabic for "Al Jazeera Amin Manfoor" and there is no such article on Al Jazeera Arabic. It hasn't been confirmed yet, and for reasons of reporting accuracy Al Jazeera probably took it down. If it turns out to be true it will probably resurface within a few days. Gone to bed for the night, I'm not so fast at adding stuff, but I am chipping away where I can, including resourcing stuff. Best, Kevinman4404 (talk) 05:43, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • Eureka! Well, it turns out the rumor was true but due to the ridiculous nature of translation between the two languages, the final product was al-Amin Manfur. Anyway, he announced his defection today. I didn't have much time to do besides update. Daniel Musto (talk) 02:07, 8 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
