Your edits on Overseas Filipino Worker

[edit]

Hello King Chopazar Belimac. I've noticed that you've been making some edits on the Overseas Filipino Worker page. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that you are familiar with wikimarkup, i.e. the way that the code behind Wikipedia articles is written in order to appear legible to readers and to follow established conventions. Becoming proficient at this can sometimes be a learning curve, but it is one you must accomplish before you can start editing, otherwise instead of improving an article, you are lowering its quality. Please use your sandbox to practice making edits before you proceed to making live edits on published Wikipedia pages. We are a community and as such, are happy to help and support new editors, so please feel free to reach out should you need assistance with anything. Thank you so much for your comments & it will help me improve as better editor. I will be very happy if you can guide me... King Chopazar Belimac (talk) 13:43, 19 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi King Chopazar Belimac. The first thing I recommend doing is observing what other editors before you have done, essentially trying to mimic the style which you observe in other articles. For example, when responding to my comment, it is customary to indent it so that I can more easily distinguish what was written before and what you have added; you do this by starting your comment with a colon (:), as I have done. Your response will start with two colons, and mine with three, etc. Whenever you make an edit on a page, try to make sure that you are matching the existing style, either on that same page or on other pages, especially when it comes to markup. Anyway, feel free to reach out to me should you have any questions or need help with something :) Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 15:04, 19 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I dont care if the article will be counted for u or to anyone but i just want this personal knowledge & free flow of correct information will be available to all free as one of the mission vision of Wikipedia King Chopazar Belimac (talk) 16:26, 19 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi King Chopazar Belimac. One of the first things I should point out to you is that it's really important to follow what others are doing, as I mentioned before. For example, I have "pinged" you in each of my responses, meaning that I used your user name so that you would be notified that I had addressed you in a comment. I notice that you haven't been doing this. Also, you didn't follow my instructions on using colons in order to indent your comments. If you take a look, you will see that your last comment is at the same indentation as my preceding one, which is incorrect. I used one colon, you should have used two, I would have used three in response, etc. Try and keep track of things like this. As for helping you create a new page, the majority of the work will have to be done by you. I am happy to give you tips on how to get started and I will be glad to review the page and proofread it for you at the end. My suggestion is, start by writing the material you want to include in your sandbox, and then I can take a look at it and give you some pointers. Once again, I suggest that you look at other pages similar to the one you wish to create and use them as a template for starting yours. How does that sound? Revirvkkodlaku. I thank you for keeping me on the loop, but im sorry i did try to check on my home page but in not able to see a sand box option. And i have a simple question for examble there's a wrong spelling sebuano & i want to correct that in Cebuano, how may i edit that in the article?
King Chopazar Belimac, one quick tip: oftentimes copy+pasting is easier than typing things out, especially when they are difficult words, such as my username ;)
Your sandbox is on the top right of the page. If you look up at the very top, you should see your username, the notification icon, the message icon, the "talk" button, and next to that it should say "sandbox". Do you see it?
Correcting misspellings is simple, just make the edit, hit "show preview" (you should always do this to make sure you haven't made any errors before publishing your edit), and then publish it. What is the problem you are encountering when trying to make the edit? Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 16:35, 20 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
