Re: Thank you[edit]

I'd also like to say thanks. Your wrestling pages, if what you claim is true, are nothing short of fantastic. I have done all my research on wikipedia, and your articles are massive helps. So, once again, Thanks. Kingfisherswift 18:42, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for your comment. I would like to think everything i write is true, or i wouldn't have put it in wikipedia hopefully... can i ask what have you been researching? --- Paulley
Well i have created over 200 articles from scratch... and contributed to many many more. When i first came to wikipedia the wrestling content was non-existant bar a few major WWE wrestlers (Triple H, Rock, Chis Benoit) so most of the rising stars of WWE at the time were created by me i.e. Randy Orton, Dave Bautista etc etc.. I was also making move articles, which for the most part have all been done by me or have had me making a large contribution over the last couple of years. Other than that, the style in which all pro wrestler articles are designed was developed on my original designs.. but with the rise of people on wikipedia and the trusted member of the Pro Wrestling wikiproject i have moved away from the mayor promotions to do work on wikipedia's British wrestling content... and aside from that i maintain all the articles i origionally created and clean up anything else i happen to notice. --- Paulley 20:30, 24 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Football AID 23 April - 29 April[edit]

Thank you for participating in the Football AID vote this week.

History of football (soccer) has been selected as this week's collaboration. Please do help in working to improve it.

Hey Kingfisherswift, thanks for helping out over at the WWE Alumni page but I was really trying to make sure everything was in place before everyone went editing it again. I know you meant well though. Most of you're edits are good from where I can see but I will make changes if nessecary. Moe ε 20:54, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, my decision to leave is final unless someone can come up with something more for me to stay for. Of my two options to stay or go out with a bang, I'm going to take the latter. I will help you set up a WikiProject page for wrestling music... whatever thats going to be about.. Could you tell me a little more about this project your proposing so I could come up with something more accurate to say on the project page? Moe ε 15:18, 29 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I never thought of myself as a legend capable of a hall-of-fame, I never thought of myself as a legend ;-) Anyways, I will start the page now. I recommend spamming all the members of the wrestling project to ask for memebership and post a message on Wikipedia:WikiProject Music's talk page and see if anyone from that WikiProject is intrested in helping. If you send me a list of users you're going to invite then I will gladly send out the invitations and due the spamming for you. -- Moe ε 16:38, 29 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, but you might want to provide a link to the Project page, the title will be Wikipedia:WikiProject Music of wrestling. I will be creating this in a minute. Moe ε 16:43, 29 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'll keep in touch. Moe ε 17:18, 29 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Music in pro wrestling[edit]

I'd probably be able to help with that project. In terms of the actual creation, I don't know if I'd be able help there, but once it's set up, I'm sure I'd be able to make significant contributions to. I'm just wondering if it's enough to create a seperate project for, but if it is, I'd be willing to help. --JFred 17:29, 29 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wrestling[edit]

Sadly, I know next to nothing about wrestling; I only know that the Rock was a wrestler because I saw him in the Mummy Returns. However, I could be your press secretary or something :P And I too am sad to see Moe leave, but this time it looks like it is for good :( _-M o P-_ 21:51, 29 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, I'll do it as soon as I finish this work :) _-M o P-_ 15:16, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! :) Sadly, doesn't look I'll come out of this one changed (most people didn't bother to look at the stuff I brought up), but theres always next time. And I was wondering, what kind of thing did you have in mind for the Music in Wrestling pages? A template linking to them all for easy navigation? _-M o P-_ 18:22, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Made this image really quickly; if you like it, you could use it in userboxes or stuff.
File:MusicInWrestling.jpg
Thats gonna leave a mark.

_-M o P-_ 18:45, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, I'll see if I can get around to joining; however, stupid real life is taking more and more time lately. Thanks for telling me though! _-M o P-_ 17:00, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wrestling Forums.[edit]

Hello there. I'd like to extend an offical invite to you, Mr. Swift. As you know, I am a moderator on a message board on ProBoards. It's a friendly little community that's been around for a while now. People come and people go, but nobody ever seems to stay away.

Judging by the way you present your thoughts, I think you'd be a good addition to the forum if you're interested. I'm always attentive about bringing in new and interesting folks for the board; it's just hard finding intelligent people who would actually add something. I mean, with so many people, brain cells and basic grammar/spelling are an afterthought online. It's rare to come across someone who can actually string sentences together and make sense.

Anyway, the URL is below. I post as Jake M. The site is primarily a pro wrestling board, yet we still talk about everything else under the sun. Check it out and join in the fun if you want. Feel free to just browse for a while, or hop right in.

Cybrus 22:58, 29 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Good stuff, I hope you enjoy yourself. Feel free to invite other wrestling fans you know, either online or in real life. Wrestling is initially what brought everyone together at Inside the Ropes, and I hope it can bring in some new folks now.

On an unrelated note, how do I become a member of the Pro Wrestling WikiProject?

Cheers.

Cybrus 11:02, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ugh, those blasted exclamation marks. The thing is, nobody has any conceivable use for more than one exclamation mark. No-one really has a life that dramatic. I want to try and gently push people away from this kind of punctuative excess, by creating a keyboard which inserts a time lapse after the exclamation mark has been pressed. During this time lapse, no further exclamation marks may be inserted. Though this is intended primarily to get rid of the deplorable '!!!', it may also be used to prevent too many !'s being used in too small a space. Ah, I'm such a genius.

Oh, and I really like your idea of spamming the other Pro Wrestling WikiProject members about Inside the Ropes. I'll get to work now.

Cybrus 11:23, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have now joined both the Pro Wrestling and Music of Wrestling WikiProjects, as well as added the templates to my profile. Hooray for me.

Will you be taping Backlash tonight?

Cybrus 21:11, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's pretty straight forward. Simply have a look through the boards, find a topic which interests you, and join in on the discussion. There's no restraints or anything; you can talk about whatever you want. Why don't you start by posting your comments about Backlash in the Pay-Per-View board?

As for the event, I also watched it this morning. To be blunt, the only thing that saved this from being worse than the awful Great American Bash of last year was a very good Triple Threat match, plus a solid outing from Rob Van Dam and Shelton Benjamin. The primary problem with this event is that literally all of the matches on the card will be forgotten in two months time. I mean, nothing memorable came out of them at all. Ultimately, it was very disappointing, and my expectations weren't very high to begin with.

What was your favourite match?

Cybrus 13:35, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Man, Thanks for the invite. I would like to work on the project; however, I'm occupied with a wrestling specific wiki at www.smashmania.com. You should check it out if you want to work on a Wrestling Database... the goal is to make a wiki FOR prowrestling.

Smashmania 04:51 PM 1 May 2006 (EST)

I invented the word 'lameoid', you scoundrel.

Cybrus 16:28, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, pal, now I've got three things for you!

1) The word Lameoid is © of Cybrus, 2006 and must not be used by anyone without licence.

Ha! Stick that in your proverbial pipe and smoke it!

In addition, as required by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), Pub. L. 105-304, I have designated an agent to receive notification of alleged copyright infringement. I'll let you off on this occasion, but use MY word again, and there'll be consequences.

2) On a slightly more serious note (or less serious, depending on your perception of copyright), I'll give you the concept of the rumble. Let's take the Best Album one as an example. Basically, to begin with, each member nominates a few of their favourite albums to take part in the rumble. Then, every round, two albums go up against each other and the members vote for their favourite. The album with the most votes advances to the next round, and so on, and so forth, until a winner is crowned. It's simple, but it can be quite fun when lots of people take part.

3) How are the SATs going for you thus far? Well?

Cybrus 21:03, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I generally agree with you about the SATs. They've all been relatively easy, with the exception of Macbeth and the insurmountably problematic Maths calculator test. You may have found the Macbeth paper undemanding but I was really caught off guard by the initial question, and had to squeeze any sort of valid points out of myself in order to obtain as many marks as possible.

Oh, and by the way, I have accepted you on MSN. I'll hopefully talk to you on there soon.

Farewell.

Would this do at {{User WikiProject MoW}}? --Oakster (Talk) 17:53, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the invite, I'll sign up as well. Pity we're losing two leaders of the pro wrestling project so quickly. Normy 05:14, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is Moe[edit]

Hello Kingfisherswift, just thought I would let you know that I was leaving Wikipedia, but before I left, I finally got a picture of thyself onto Wikipedia. (I know great timing for me to post a picture of myself, right?) This is my final gift to my friends. Later! PS. Try not to laugh to hard at my ugly mug ok? Moe ε 15:44, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Prediction for Backlash: Triple H pwns Edge for the win. Cheers! Moe ε 16:12, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't know I was Canadian? Err.. I filled in my stats. Moe ε 17:36, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No need to be sorry really, but thank you for dedicating the project to me, very nice thing of you to do. When I stop by Wikipedia later on, you'll be the first I contact. Thanks again. Moe ε 18:25, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No, I'm afraid not. It's time I take of some stuff in real-life and Wikipedia only makes it more difficult to get over it. I thank you for your recent sudden intrest in my staying though. If you need anything, you can always e-mail me (if you have it enabled on Wikipedia) or I will be on through 8 p.m. tonight. Moe ε 18:32, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lists[edit]

Please provide some context to these lists you're pasting. And categories. They should make sense to people not familiar with the subject. Thanks. --W.marsh 17:14, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

May the Force be with you.[edit]

Dear Kingfisherswift/archive 1,

Thanks for voting on my RFA! I appreciate your faith in me, and was overwhelmed by the positive response to my RFA; for it shows that at least I'm doing something right. :) I've started working to improve myself already, and I hope that next time, things run better, and maybe, just maybe, one day we can bask on the shores of Admintopia together. Thanks and cheers, _-M o P-_ 21:54, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Football AID 7 May - 13 May[edit]

Thank you for participating in the Football AID vote this week.

Reading F.C. has been selected as this week's collaboration. Please do help in working to improve it.

Thanks![edit]

Thanks so much for the barnstar! I'm truly honoured. I'm trying to improve myself on the criteria people suggested on my RFA (I got my edit count up by 1000 :P), so next time hopefully it flows better. Thanks again, MoppEr Speak! 15:12, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Esperanza Newsletter, Issue #3[edit]

The Administrator Coaching program is a program aimed at preparing Wikipedians for Adminship or helping them understand the intricacies of Wikipedia better. Recently, changes have been made to the requirements of coachees. Please review them before requesting this service.
This would be something like the Welcoming Committee, but for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. Some might like suggestions about how to learn vandal patrol, or mentoring on taking an article to featured status, or guidance with a proposal they plan to make at the Village Pump, for example. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.
The Stressbusters are a subset of Esperanza aiming to investigate the causes of stress. New eyes on the situation are always welcome!
Note from the editor
As always, MiszaBot handled this delivery. Thank you! Also, congratulations go to Pschemp, Titoxd and Freakofnurture for being elected in the last elections! An Esperanzial May to all of the readership!
  1. Posting logs of the Esperanza IRC channel are explicitly banned anywhere. Violation of this rule results in deletion and a ban from the channel.
  2. A disclaimer is going to be added to the Esperanza main page. We are humans and, as such, are imperfect.
  3. Various revisions have been made to the Code of Conduct. Please see them, as the proposal is ready to be ratified by the community and enacted. All members will members to have to re-confirm their membership after accepting the Code of Conduct.
  4. Referendums are to be held on whether terms of AC members should be lengthened and whether we should abolish votes full stop.
  5. Admin Coaching reform is agreed upon.

Player Table[edit]

Hello. I've just realised that, having read your message of support, I never replied to it! Sorry, very rude of me.

Anyway, cheers for saying you liked the table. I like it too. However, subsequent investigation shows there was lengthy debate about it on Wikiproject, and seeing as they made their decision after months of debate there's not much I can do about it. Ah well. HornetMike 18:39, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I fancy us against Leeds, I have to say. I'm already nervous. Cheers for doing the Henderson/Bouazza articles. I'm working on a big update for the history section at the minute.

Re: Hello[edit]

Hi, I'm going to be a little bit busy until Wednesday but I can definetly recommend this page for you as it helped me create a couple of boxes. If you have any more problems, give me a call and I'll try to reply asap. --Oakster (Talk) 16:19, 14 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hertfordshire[edit]

Hi there. I was a bit bored today at work, so I created a Userbox for Hertfordshire based Wikipedians. I am still bored, so I am leaving messages on Hertforshire Wikipedians talk pages to tell them about it. If you want to use it, it is {{user Hertfordshire}}. Legis 13:02, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

PS. Not from Watford myself, but good luck in the playoff final on Sunday.

My edit count[edit]

Regarding My edit count, I am not entirely sure what you were attempting to do with this article. If you were trying to get your edit count let me know and I will show you how to get it. If you were trying to take that page to Interiot's tool, it should be a redirect. I hope this helps, if not and you were trying to do something else and need help let me know.--Joe Jklin (T C) 08:19, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You probably meant to put it at user:Kingfisherswift/My edit count. I would have moved it there but it got deleted first. -- RHaworth 09:40, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
