You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved, as you did at Kiril Simeonovski. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.

Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.

Orphaned non-free media (File:Котов велемајстор.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Котов велемајстор.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Clearly I cannot patrol all biographical articles. I apply the rules consistently to the articles which I do edit. More than that is inappropriate to ask of me. Edit warring[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Vladimir Nabokov. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. It appears that I explained the procedure (entailing checking 50 random articles) to you in the past. We haven't established a specific numerical cutoff because we're dealing with clear-cut cases that wouldn't approach it (no offense intended). —David Levy 14:31, 18 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Could you at least tell me the criterias for random checking the articles? I suppose that you use some kind of guide to use it. You said a small percentage. You agreed to add a link with Wikipedia in Basque, having 6 of 50 random non-stub articles. Using the definition for stubs, we have app. 10 of 50 non-stub articles. If you make just once, I propose to you to make the test more times, and to analyze the outcomes. The biggest problem are the date placeholders, but we're working hard to fix it. Re:Emmanuel Lasker[edit]

As you can see, very few people are listed simply as Soviet people and mostly because they don't' fit into any of the sub categories. Many present day Russian people who were Soviet citizens when that country existed are not listed as Soviet people, particularly if they do no fit into any of the Soviet people by occupation sub categories. And Lasker himself, despite attaining citizenship only stayed for a scant two years before leaving the country for good.

Instead of reverting Category:Soviet people, how about inserting Category:German immigrants to the Soviet Union instead ? I will do that anyway and if you have any further objections please respond in my talk page. If you still think that Category:Soviet people should be re-inserted than feel free to do it without responding to my talk page. Thanks. Tec15 (talk) 06:26, 10 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

39th Chess Olympiad[edit]

Thanks for the expansion but I think the sentence "In the first round, the Yemen team refused to play against Israel. Each of the four Israeli players was thus awarded a technical victory." needs a citation. Could you do it? --BorgQueen (talk) 16:37, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The source says: "Yemen has sacked the country's chess team and members of the governing body after its players competed against Israel at a tournament in Belarus. The Yemeni Sports minister, Hamud Mohammed Ubad, took the unusual decision after players ignored instructions to pull out if drawn against Israel, which is widely criticised in the Middle East for its policies towards the Palestinians." It wasn't cited and disputed by a user who removed it and my first insight was he really did not attain British citizenship. But, since you mention his CV and after the reference citing his British nationality was inserted, I did even change it in the lead sentence. Wayne Gretzky[edit]

There has been an endless edit war for months and months. I have simply removed the nationality from the lead altogether. I realy think per the MOS there is no need to mention his nationally in the lead at all - plus sounds odd hes a retired Canadian?
