Speedy deletion nomination of Stewart Vaughan
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Stewart Vaughan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Mjs1991 (talk) 09:55, 29 July 2019 (UTC)
Stewart Vaughan moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Stewart Vaughan, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your page to draft space (with a prefix of Draft:
before the article title) where you can work on it with minimal disruption. When you feel that it meets our notability and neutrality requirements, and is thus ready for mainspace, please submit it using the Articles for Creation template on the page. Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! JMHamo (talk) 10:21, 30 May 2020 (UTC)
- Hello, JMHamo
- I received a mail notifying me of your post this morning.
- I did not receive a mail notifying me of the post by HasteurBot on 30 April.
- First let me explain that I had surgery on 12 December 2019. The post-op recovery was longer than expected. Hence my lack of activity.
- I took an online course in writing for Wikipedia in April 2017, and followed it assiduously. I want very much to complete my article "Stewart Vaughan" to the satisfaction of those who wish to delete it. My article was nominated by Mjs1991 in July 2019 for speedy deletion. Justlettersandnumbers added that there were insufficient independent sources. I improved it by adding a mass of references which I believe show the subject to be of importance as a promoter of English authors in the French theatre industry.
- I suggest you Google "Stewart Vaughan" theatre, and you will see what I mean. Most of the sites, of course, are in French.
- More recent messages were left on my user page at the end of November 2019 just before I was hospitalised.
- I followed your suggestion in order to improve the article further, but find it has already been deleted. I will, tomorrow, follow your link to request its retrieval.
- When I look at some other Wikipedia articles I find it hard to understand why mine has been singled out, with such vehemence, for deletion. Any guidance you can give me would be welcome.

- When I replied to your previous message on 5 December, perhaps I wasn't clear enough.
- Whatever. You didn't respond to my message.
- I am very disheartened. As I have said twice, now, I have seen many articles that are far less referenced than mine. Why am I being victimised ?
- What am I supposed to do to be accepted?
- If you respond to these questions, I will do whatever has to be done, in order to have my article validated. Kirkleyditch (talk) 17:51, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
- Dear Liz,
- I have just replied to you, and my reply appears on screen.
- I notice that your message of 3 December 2021 is not followed by my reponse. Could it be that I wrote my response, and didn't click on the reply button ? If this is the case, I apologise for rebuking you for not responding to my 5 December message, and I am sending you the mesasage again, below.
- Dear Liz,
- Thank you for your e-mail.
- First, may I say, for the reason that follows, that, apart from the odd spelling correction, I have hardly touched wikipedia for over a year. I will have to go back to the online course I took and learn how to do it again. Then I will have to practice, doing minor edits to existing pages (when justified, obviously).
- I still consider wikipedia to be the top reliable source on the web, and when I did my online course, I was very happy.
- The reason I stopped was the deletion of my article.
- As I say in a previous talk, I have seen many articles that are far less referenced than mine, and they have not been deleted. If you Google ("Stewart Vaughan" theatre), you will find that Google reference him substantially.
- So I cannot understand the disdain with which my initial article was deleted.
- Jimmy Wales sent me a request for money. For the first time, I declined.
- As I say above, I love and respect wikipedia. I want to be able to contribute again.
- So, as I also say above, I will relearn how to do it., and then I will request the undeletion of my page.
- This will take time, so there is no hurry from my end; as long as delaying doen't mean the article, into which I put a lot of work, will be squashed forever.
- If you have any advice for me of how to "get back on the horse", I would be grateful.
- Thanks
