This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits, such as those you made to Caveman. If you vandalize Wikipedia again, you will be blocked from editing. Drmies (talk) 21:26, 1 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Mutated caveman, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Please do not make statements attacking people or groups of people. Wikipedia has a strict policy against personal attacks. Attack pages and images are not tolerated by Wikipedia and are speedily deleted. File source problem with File:Caveman image.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Caveman image.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 04:37, 16 September 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 04:37, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Danielle Mackey[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. You removed content from Wikipedia with these edits of yours to Danielle Mackey, including textual information, citations and portions of a heading, but without providing a rationale for this in an Edit Summary. When removing material, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history.

In addition, you added material on her college career, without adding a citation of a source that supports it. Wikipedia requires that the material in its articles be accompanied by reliable, verifiable sources explicitly cited in the article text in the form of an inline citation, which I notice you did attempt to add to other parts of the article. In addition, any material on a subject's accomplishments, material that could be construed as promotional or self-serving should be secondary sources, and not primary ones, like the subject's own YouTube channel. Lastly, the surrender at 20 link you added as one citation is a blank page. I'm guessing you may have gotten the url wrong on that one, so feel free to re-add it with the correct url if you want.

Lastly, a more minor point, but punctuation goes before citations, and not after it, per WP:PAIC.

Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you ever have any other questions about editing, or need help regarding the site's policies, just let me know by leaving a message for me in a new section at the bottom of my talk page. Thanks. :-) Nightscream (talk) 18:50, 27 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

In general, all or most information in Wikipedia articles should indicate its source, usually (thought not always) with an inline citation, so that the reader knows where that information comes from. Material that could be construed as negative, like dropping out of college, should especially be sourced. If it "can't be cited", as you say, then it can't go in the article.
As far as making the article more accurate, keep in mind that you removed the citations from the end of the paragraph mentioning what games she plays, and the paragraph on her schooling, which is not appropriate, since that left the paragraph unsourced. Even if you wanted to add new material to those paragraphs, why would you remove the citations that support the older material that you left in there?
As far as citing the episode in question, you don't need the time stamp, but you should at least cite the episode. You can learn how to make inline citations at the page I linked to above; If you find it useful, you can use a citation template; An entire page of citation templates can be found at WP:Citation templates, such as the TV episode citation, which you can see at Template:Cite episode. For an example of an article on a TV show that cites episodes, you can check out the Pawn Stars article. You can view the edit field, search for "cite episode", and see how they're written. But if you're not feeling that ambitious, just tell me what the episode or episodes are, and I'll put it in the article myself, since I make such citations all the time. There's only eight episodes to look through, as opposed to the "hundreds" of her YouTube videos, which are less reliable because those are primary sources anyway, so I'll leave this decision up to you.
The Etsy shop citations and YouTube subscriptions are inappropriate per WP:PSTS as I mentioned above, and WP:NOTADVERT. Material that goes to her notability, or which could be construed as promotional, aggrandizing or promotional should not be sourced to primary sources, but secondary ones. If you can provide secondary source, then yes, as I stated above, the material can be restored.
The use the word "modeling" in the section heading was a reference to her participating in the Maxim Gamer Girl competition.
Don't worry about the edit summary for now. You're new, and you're not expected to know all the ins and outs of Wikipedia when you're still new to editing here.
Also, please make sure you sign your talk page posts, which makes it easier for everyone to know who they're addressing. You can do this by typing four tildes (~~~~) at the end of them, which also automatically time stamps them. Nightscream (talk) 03:28, 30 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
If you can point out to me which citation in the article is dead, let me know, and I'll see if I can address it.
Oh, and just so you know, talk page headings are used to separate each discussion, or thread. You don't need one for each individual message. Thanks again. :-) Nightscream (talk) 03:30, 30 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Citations (and the material they support) should not be removed because they're dead. Links can often be updated if one looks for them. See WP:Link rot for more. But more importantly, when a citation is using the ref name tag, that means that that source is being cited multiple times in the article. Removing the first citation of it, therefore, which contains the full publication info, will cause the subsequent citations of it in the article to create a citation error, which you can see here. It is for this reason that you should really use the preview function or at least check your edits after saving them to make sure they came out okay. Or both. I've been doing this for eight and half years, and I still preview and check my edits to look for errors.
In any event, I found the updated url for the CNY Homepage story, and added it to the citation in the article.
Directly citing YouTube videos is not necessarily "promotional". It depends on the nature of the information in question, whose YouTube account it is, etc. I've sourced much of the information in the Peter David article to posts he's made on his blog, but only when the information in question is stuff that isn't self-serving, or doesn't go to his notability, like where he's from, where he went to school, what his political beliefs are, etc. When sourcing something like what awards he's won, I always use a secondary source. Using a primary source for something like that is inappropriate. So which bit of info do you want to source to her YouTube videos? Nightscream (talk) 04:02, 30 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 04:30, 30 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
