Blanking talk page

[edit]

It's not usual to completely blank your talk page, including the welcome message you were given. Old messages will not disappear completely (they will always be findable in the page history), but it means that other editors are likely to waste time giving advice you have already been given. Many editors set up an automatic archiving for their talk page, which moves old messages after a set time and keeps them tidily. It's pretty insulting to those who have written on your talk page that you consider all their helpful advice to be "trash". PamD 08:40, 19 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

CSD needs valid reason

[edit]

"Lack of notability" is not a valid reason for CSD. Please read the criteria carefully and do not waste other people's time making incorrect nominations. I think you have already been advised about this, so I call this out as disruptive editing. If you continue to edit so carelessly you may find yourself blocked eventually. PamD 08:44, 19 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yes you have been told already: see here. Please read and follow the advice you are given, rather than making more mistakes. Thanks. PamD 08:57, 19 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Syed Gaji Shah, did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Needs more sources?

[edit]

In a short stub where every word of the content is sourced to an extremely reliable source, there is no need to add {{refimprove}}. Are you perhaps more interested in improving your own edit count? Please don't add tags unnecessarily. PamD 09:26, 19 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

On the other hand {{link rot}} would have been an appropriate tage to add, as the source is a bare URL, and it had a red-linked category (ie in this case wrongly guessed) which could usefully have been fixed. PamD 09:33, 19 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Nomoskar

[edit]

Nomoskar dada. Your userpage says your form Kolkata. If your are bengali, Please help Bangla Wikipedia. There are 30 koti Bengali but only very few (10-15) contibute in Bangla. Bengali is the 6th most spoken language but in wiki, we are 72th and only have 78 hajar article, while for example english wiki have 5.9 million. You can help by translating articles from english wikipedia to Bangla.

In mobile you can use Ridmik keyboard or Gboard to write Bangla. You don't have to learn anything, both key board have a option called avro. so, if you want to write for example আপনি কেমন আছেন?, you will need to type "aponi kemon achen?" and keyboard will convert that into Bengali text. Please help Bangla Wikipedia. --আফতাবুজ্জামান (talk) 19:02, 19 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

"More categories"?

[edit]

What further categories do you think are needed here? He has birth and death, and two defining categories for what he is notable for. It might be possible to add a "People from xxx" category, but that really isn't necessary: if you think it's needed, you could add it yourself instead of tagging the article to suggest that someone else needs to do so. Please don't tag articles unnecessarily. PamD 12:26, 3 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

And also here: the article has just one category, but it's a very exact one and is the child category of everything else which might be appropriate. What other categories do you think it needs? There is no rule to say that just one category is not enough. Please don't add that tag unless you can think of other appropriate categories: if you can do so, please consider adding them yourself. Thanks. PamD 12:30, 3 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Nature Park of India, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Notice

The article Kamlesh Patel (dancer) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Moved into article space without AFC review after being declined. Written to praise the subject rather than to describe the subject neutrally. Does not satisfy general notability or entertainment notability in its current state.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. A tag has been placed on The 23 December Celebration requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about something invented/coined/discovered by the article's creator or someone they know personally, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time.

An article you recently created, Asia Youth International Model United Nations, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). Hello, Pokai

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username MPGuy2824, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, Rajeshwer Singh, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to contest the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|MPGuy2824}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!

V-Awards moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, V-Awards, is not suitable as written to remain published. It appears there is a WP:UPE or WP:COI conflict. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, and have addressed the UPE/COI issue, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. As per WP policy, please do not move into mainspace yourself. Onel5969 TT me 19:28, 19 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, let me clear this honestly, neither it's a case of WP:UPE nor it's WP:COI. I've attended two ceremonies of this award function and I true believe that there should be a page on Wikipedia about them as it's notable initiative by United Nations India and Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, it's all what is true. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on UN India Yuwaah Advocates, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. 2A00:23EE:2048:8306:E427:74FF:FE7E:FC59 (talk) 18:30, 3 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
