Thank You[edit]

Thank you for making sure a fair and rationale statement at AFD. I would have recommended transwiki myself but after months of AFD's I have found that people just totally ignore you when you point out other wikis. In fact if you look at the clans AFD I pointed this out there. It's really annoying that the same person is making the same argument months later. Role Call[edit]

Well, I was going to tell you about the Warriors Role Call, but seeing as you already put your name under active, I probably don't need to. So why am I telling you this? Shrewpelt (talk) 22:13, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Transwiki[edit]

Ok, just leave me a list of links to deleted articles, and I will post the deleted text of the articles' last revisions here. RyanGerbil10(Говорить!) 00:12, 23 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In order: (I wasn't able to find the fourth article you listed, are you sure you gave me the right name?)

This article is about the characters from the fantasy novel Firestar's Quest by Erin Hunter.

Ancient SkyClan (before Firestar's Quest)[edit]

Secondary Characters[edit]

Birdflight[edit]

See the ThunderClan entry

Buzzardtail[edit]

Buzzardtail was a ginger tom with green eyes, and the SkyClan deputy. He is seen in Firestar's dream commanding the cats in the new territory, where he says "You know where to go" and that thought lingers in Firestar's mind even after the dream. Nothing else is known about him.

Cloudstar[edit]

Cloudstar was a small, sleek gray tom with white cloud-shaped splotches, and pale blue eyes. He was the SkyClan leader when they were driven out. He was seen in the prologue of Firestar's Quest, when he brought his whole Clan to a Gathering. He tried to get the other Clans to let SkyClan hunt in their territory, when Twolegs destroyed all of their territory, but the other four Clans refused, so Cloudstar led SkyClan away from the forest, saying that StarClan had betrayed him, and he would never look to the stars again.

When Birdflight moves to ThunderClan with her kits, he says to her, "I'll wait for you. I'll wait for you forever." Towards the end of the book, when Leafstar receives her nine lives, the other leaders apologize to him, saying that there have always been five Clans and they shouldn't have driven SkyClan out. When Birdflight appears, he is very happy, and she tells him that her and her kits, Gorseclaw and Spottedpelt, have chosen to walk the skies above SkyClan in honor of their ancestors.

  • Mate: Birdflight
  • Kin: Spottedpelt, Gorseclaw (kits), Tigerstar, Spottedleaf, Brambleclaw, Tawnypelt, Hawkfrost, Mothwing, Lionpaw, Hollypaw, Jaypaw, Tawnypelt's unnamed kits (descendants)

Fawnstep[edit]

Fawnstep was a light brown tabby she-cat and the medicine cat of SkyClan. After Leafstar's ceremony, Fawnstep told Echosong that she would guide her.

Fernpelt[edit]

Fernpelt was a dark brown tabby she-cat and a warrior of SkyClan.

Mousefang[edit]

Mousefang was a sandy-colored she-cat and a warrior of SkyClan.

Nightfur[edit]

Nightfur was a black tom and a warrior of SkyClan.

Oakpaw[edit]

Oakpaw was a gray tabby and an apprentice of SkyClan.

Modern SkyClan (Firestar's Quest)[edit]

Main Characters[edit]

Cherrytail[edit]

Cherrytail is a tortoiseshell she-cat warrior of SkyClan. Once, she and her brother Sparrowpelt were kittypets, and often visited the gorge where they now live to mock Skywatcher, calling him "Moony" because of how watched the sky during a full moon. She later apologized for this after his death. When Firestar came to the gorge, he saw they had SkyClan blood and invited them into SkyClan. Though reluctant at first to leave her old owners, Cherrytail was very enthusiastic about being a Clan cat, and chose to join SkyClan. Sharpclaw was chosen to mentor her, and they both fought in the battle with the rats. Afterwards, Leafstar made her a warrior with the name of Cherrytail, and gave her Rockpaw to mentor.

  • Mentor: Sharpclaw
  • Apprentice: Rockpaw
  • Kin: Sparrowpelt (brother, formerly Boris)
  • Formerly Known As: Cherry (before Firestar's Quest - Firestar's Quest), Cherrypaw (Firestar's Quest)

Echosong[edit]

Echosong is a silver tabby she-cat with green eyes, and the medicine cat of SkyClan. Firestar is told by Skywatcher that there is a cat that has dreams of StarClan, and he chooses to go with Sparrowpelt into Twolegplace to find the cat. While there, he runs into Oscar and asks him if he had heard of any such cat. He dismisses the idea, but then Echosong appears and says she has dreams of cats with stars in their fur, and was told by a dark gray cat, revealed to by Skywatcher, to come to that spot to meet two strange cats. Knowing that Firestar and Sparrowpelt were who he meant, Echosong chooses to go back with Firestar and joins SkyClan, where she is named the medicine cat. Later, Echosong has a vision of leaves dappling the ground, and she interprets this to mean Leafstar should be the leader of SkyClan.

  • Mentor: Sandstorm, Fawnstep
  • Formerly Known As: Echo (before Firestar's Quest - Firestar's Quest)

Leafstar[edit]

Leafstar is the current leader of SkyClan. She is a brown-and-cream tabby with amber eyes. She has a sensitive, docile personality. Before Firestar rebuilt SkyClan she was a rogue named Leaf. She was confronted by Firestar, Cherrytail, and Sparrowpelt to attend the meeting to rebuild SkyClan and ended up staying. Almost immediately she was given her warrior name, Leafdapple, and was also given Sparrowpelt to mentor. The medicine cat Echosong soon got a message from the ancestors that Leafstar was to be the leader of SkyClan, and she accepted her position.

The nine cats that gave her the nine lives are: Cloudstar, who gave her the life of endurance to strengthen her Clan in times of trouble; Skywatcher, who gave her the life of hope to guide her Clan through the darkest days; Leafstar's mother, who gave her the life of love to give to all the cats that look to her for protection; Spottedleaf, who gave her the life of healing the wounds of words and rivalry to give to cats that are troubled in spirit; Redstar, who gave her the life of wisdom for when she has hard decisions to make; Birchstar, who gave her the life of sympathy and understanding to use for the weakest in her Clan and other that need her help and protection; Swiftstar, who gave her the life of selflessness to use in service of her Clan, Dawnstar gave her the life of determination to use to set her paws on that path to what she knows is right; and lastly, Birdflight, who gave her the life of faithfulness to hold fast to Clan and kin.

As a leader, Leafstar made Sharpclaw her deputy, made Cherrypaw and Sparrowpaw into Cherrytail and Sparrowpelt, made Bouncekit, Rockkit, and Tinykit into Bouncepaw, Rockpaw, and Tinypaw. She thanks Firestar and Sandstorm, and promises them that their names will be remembered in SkyClan forever. She also confirms Echosong as her medicine cat. Afterwards, Sandstorm names one of her kits Leafkit in honor of her.

  • Mentors: Firestar, Sandstorm
  • Apprentice: Sparrowpelt
  • Formerly Known As: Leaf (before Firestar's Quest - Firestar's Quest), Leafdapple (Firestar's Quest)

Sharpclaw[edit]

Sharpclaw is a dark ginger tom with green eyes of SkyClan, and its current deputy. Before he joined SkyClan, he was a rogue named Scratch. He joined SkyClan because he wanted the strength of many cats protection of each other. Later he was very interested in getting nine lives, but Leafstar was chosen leader instead. Leafstar named him deputy afterwards.

  • Mentors: Firestar, Sandstorm
  • Formerly Known As: Scratch (before Firestar's Quest - Firestar's Quest)
  • Apprentice: Cherrytail

Skywatcher[edit]

Skywatcher was a very old dark gray tom with pale blue eyes. His grandmother was a member of SkyClan, but the Clan had vanished by the time Skywatcher was born. His mother named him Sky so that the memory of SkyClan would continue to live, and she taught him the ways of a warrior. Before Firestar rebuilt SkyClan, every full moon, Skywatcher would go to gaze at the moon from the cliff overlooking SkyClan's camp. This led the other cats in the area to think that Skywatcher was mad, and it is also why he was dubbed "Moony" by the kittypets Cherry and Boris. Skywatcher also reminded Firestar and Sandstorm of Yellowfang.

Skywatcher helps to convince Firestar that he must rebuild SkyClan, and Firestar later gives him his warrior name, Skywatcher. It is then revealed that Skywatcher was the cat who gave Firestar the prophecy that first appeared in The Sight: "There will be three, kin of your kin, who will hold the power of the stars in their paws." The day after he gives Firestar the prophecy, Firestar finds Skywatcher's body in his old den, remembering that the cat had seemed to know he was going to die. Later, Skywatcher gives Firestar advice on where to find SkyClan's medicine cat, and he gives Leafstar her second life.

  • Mentor: Pricklenose
  • Kin: Lowbranch (mother), Twig (brother)
  • Formerly Known As: Sky (before Firestar's Quest - Firestar's Quest)
  • Death: Old age, Firestar's Quest

Shortwhisker[edit]

Shortwhisker was a dark brown tabby tom that became for a short time a warrior of SkyClan, but then decided to return to his kittypet life. He came (rather reluctantly) to the SkyClan meeting and joined. However, after the numerous dangers he faced, he was shown to be softhearted and genial, but kind nevertheless. He was panicky and always voiced his fears. After the battle with the rat hoards and the tragedy of Rainfur's death, he revokes his warrior name and the warrior's way of life.

  • Mentor Firestar
  • Formerly Known As: Hutch (before and after Firestar's Quest - Shortwhisker (Firestar's Quest)

Sparrowpelt[edit]

Sparrowpelt is a dark brown tabby tom warrior of SkyClan. Once, he and his sister Cherrytail were kittypets, but Firestar saw they had SkyClan blood and invited them into SkyClan. Sparrowpelt was mentored by Leafstar. He fought in the battle with the rats. He once called Skywatcher 'Moony', but later aplogized after Skywatcher's death. Leafstar made him a warrior with the name of Sparrowpelt, and gave him Tinypaw to mentor.

  • Mentor: Leafstar
  • Apprentice: Tinypaw
  • Kin: Cherrytail (sister)
  • Formerly Known As: Boris (before Firestar's Quest - Firestar's Quest), Sparrowpaw (Firestar's Quest)

Secondary Characters[edit]

Bouncepaw[edit]

Bouncepaw is a ginger tom, and a SkyClan apprentice. He was first seen being protected by his mother as a kit, Clovertail, who joins the Clan to protect him. He later falls in the river after being in the Whispering Cave with his siblings, and Clovertail saves him. He says that there are voices in the cave, but Clovertail doesn't believe him. After the battle against the rats, Bouncepaw was given to Patchfoot to mentor.

  • Mentor: Patchfoot
  • Kin: Clovertail (mother), Rockpaw, Tinypaw (siblings)
  • Formerly Known As: Bounce (before Firestar's Quest - Firestar's Quest), Bouncekit (Firestar's Quest)

Clovertail[edit]

Clovertail is a light brown she-cat with a white belly and legs. She was first seen by Firestar, Sandstorm, and Sharpclaw on SkyClan's territory, where she was sheltering her kits from a fox. She decides to join SkyClan, thinking that her kits will have protection. At one part, Bouncepaw falls into the river and she jumps in and starts swimming strongly to save him. Firestar wonders if she is descended from RiverClan somehow. When the Clan is getting ready to fight the rats, she decides to join in the training. Later, Firestar thinks that Birchstar looks like her, also hinting that she has RiverClan ancestry.

  • Mentors: Firestar, Sandstorm
  • Kin: Tinypaw, Bouncepaw, Rockpaw (kits)
  • Formerly Known As: Clover (before Firestar's Quest - Firestar's Quest)

Mintkit[edit]

Mintkit is a pale gray tom kit of SkyClan. He is the kit of Rainfur and Petalnose. Firestar, Rainfur, Sharpclaw, Leafstar, and Patchfoot rescue him, his sister Sagekit, and his mother from a Twoleg. In the Firestar's Quest Allegiances, Mintkit is described as a gray tabby she-cat and his sister Sagekit is described as a pale gray tom, but throughout the rest of the book, their descriptions and genders are switched, so it appears that the Allegiances just made a mistake. Nothing else is known about Mintkit.

  • Kin: Rainfur (father), Petalnose (mother), Sagekit (sister)
  • Formerly Known As: Mint (before Firestar's Quest - Firestar's Quest)

Patchfoot[edit]

Patchfoot is a black and white tom warrior of SkyClan. He went to the meeting to rebuild SkyClan and chose to join. Patchfoot helps rescue Petalnose, Mintkit, and Sagekit from a Twoleg. Patchfoot was attacked by rats, and recovered with the help of Sandstorm and Echosong. Leafstar says he showed courage and endurance, and she gave him Bouncepaw to mentor.

  • Mentors: Firestar, Sandstorm
  • Apprentice: Bouncepaw
  • Formerly Known As: Patch (before Firestar's Quest - Firestar's Quest)

Petalnose[edit]

Petalnose is a pale gray she-cat queen of SkyClan. Rainfur comes to SkyClan and asks for their help, and a patrol comes to help. Petalnose is kept locked in a Twoleg nest and doesn't get enough to eat, so Firestar, Sharpclaw, Leafstar, and Patchfoot come to help. She then joins the Clan with her kits.

  • Mate: Rainfur
  • Kin: Mintkit, Sagekit (kits)
  • Formerly Known As: Petal (before Firestar's Quest - Firestar's Quest)

Rainfur[edit]

Rainfur was a light gray tom with dark gray flecks, and a warrior of SkyClan. As a rogue, he came to the meeting, but didn't want to join SkyClan because he didn't see any benefits for himself (as was common behavior of rogues). When he came back, trying to get help to rescue his mate Petal and his kits Sage and Mint from the abusive Twoleg, Firestar, Sharpclaw, Leafdapple, and Patchfoot came to help. The family joined the Clan after seeing the bravery and determination of the warriors when they were rescued. Later, in a battle with rats, Rainfur, separated from the rest of the warriors, is killed by a massive group of rats. He later appears in StarClan at Leafstar's ceremony, telling Firestar he now knows the warrior code is worth dying for.

  • Mate: Petalnose
  • Kin: Mintkit, Sagekit (kits)
  • Death: Battle with the rats, Firestar's Quest

Rockpaw[edit]

Rockpaw is a black tom, and a SkyClan apprentice. He was first seen being protected by Clovertail, who joins the Clan to protect him. He says there are voices in the Whispering Cave, although Clovertail doesn't believe him. His mentor is Cherrytail.

  • Mentor: Cherrytail
  • Kin: Clovertail (mother), Tinypaw, Bouncepaw (siblings)
  • Formerly Known As: Rock (before Firestar's Quest - Firestar's Quest), Rockkit (Firestar's Quest)

Sagekit[edit]

Sagekit is a gray tabby she-cat kit of SkyClan. She is described as a pale gray tom in the allegiances, but throughout the rest of the book her brother Mintkit is the one who is described as a gray tom, so their descriptions probably just accidentally got switched in the allegiances. Sagekit is also the kit of Rainfur and Petalnose. Firestar, Rainfur, Sharpclaw, Leafstar, and Patchfoot rescue her, her brother Mintkit, and her mother from a Twoleg. Nothing else is known about Sagekit.

  • Kin: Rainfur (father), Petalnose (mother), Mintkit (brother)
  • Formerly Known As: Sage (before Firestar's Quest - Firestar's Quest)

Tinypaw[edit]

Tinypaw is a small white she-cat, and a SkyClan apprentice. She was first seen being protected by Clovertail, who joins the Clan to protect her. She protests to Clovertail that there are voices in the Whispering Cave, although Clovertail doesn't believe her. Her mentor is Sparrowpelt.

  • Mentor: Sparrowpelt
  • Kin: Clovertail (mother), Rockpaw, Bouncepaw (brothers)
  • Formerly Known As: Tiny (before Firestar's Quest - Firestar's Quest), Tinykit (Firestar's Quest)

This article is about the characters from the fantasy novel series Warriors by Erin Hunter.

Original Series[edit]

Secondary Characters[edit]

Ashfoot[edit]

Ashfoot is a beautiful gray she-cat with enormous blue eyes. She is first seen in Fire and Ice as a WindClan queen concerned for her kits as her Clan is searching for a place to live, since they had been driven out of the forest by Brokentail. She is the mother of Crowfeather, and the current deputy of WindClan.

In Firestar's Quest, Tallstar says she has given birth to three kits.

In Twilight, she is extremely worried about her missing son. Onestar is very harsh towards her, and eventually, grows gentler at the end of the book.

  • Kin: Windstar (ancestor), Gorsestar (ancestor), Crowfeather, Eaglekit, other unnamed kits (kits), Breezepaw (grandkit)

Barkface[edit]

Barkface is the medicine cat of WindClan, and has been for the entire series. He is a brown tom, and has a short tail. He is kind, especially towards Leafpool, which makes Jaypaw suspicious. He finally takes on an apprentice in The Sight, Kestrelpaw.

In Fire and Ice, when Fireheart and Graystripe go on their mission to find WindClan, he receives a sign from StarClan that an unnecessary death will occur. Later, there is a battle between ThunderClan and RiverClan, and Whiteclaw accidentally fell off a cliff. When Onestar was to become leader, Barkface was the first medicine cat to escort a leader to Moonpool. He supports Leafpool and in The Sight, lent her some of their catmint, until ShadowClan, WindClan and ThunderClan run out.

  • Apprentice: Kestrelpaw

Crowfur[edit]

Crowfur was an elder of WindClan, but was never mentioned in the Allegiances. He was only seen at a Gathering in Forest of Secrets with Patchpelt and a RiverClan queen. He was described as an old black tom with a silver muzzle and scarred flanks. He didn't think young cats could cope with hardship like the elders had.

Deadfoot[edit]

Deadfoot was a black tom with a stubby, twisted paw and scarred muzzle. He was the WindClan deputy before Mudclaw. Despite his swiftness, Deadfoot didn't seem to be the best fighter, losing fights against Tigerstar, Graystripe, and Firestar twice. In Fire and Ice, he shows great concern for Ashfoot and her kits. Deadfoot was also the WindClan cat who showed the most hatred to ThunderClan regarding their decision to take in Brokentail.

In The Darkest Hour, Deadfoot is badly injured in the battle of LionClan and BloodClan. In Midnight, he is shown to have joined StarClan and is the cat who chose Crowfeather to journey to the sun-drown-place to speak with Midnight. In Rising Storm when Firestar and Sandstorm were bringing Cloudtail back he was in the WindClan patrol that attacked them. Deadfoot said to Cloudtail that it wasn't just Firestar who needed a lesson in respect.

In Secrets of The Clans, it was revealed that he was one of the first WindClan cats to leave when ShadowClan raided their camp.

  • Death: Unknown causes, The Darkest Hour--Midnight

Gorsepaw[edit]

Gorsepaw was a white-and-ginger tom and a former apprentice of WindClan.

In Fire and Ice Firestar carried Gorsepaw over a small Thunderpath to bring him back to the WindClan camp.

In The Darkest Hour he was heartlessly killed by Tigerstar making his warriors surrond him so he can't be saved.Morningflower is heartbroken, and avenges her son's death by clawing and injuring BloodClan warriors.

  • Mentor: Onestar
  • Kin: Morningflower (mother)
  • Death: Murdered by Tigerstar, The Darkest Hour

Morningflower[edit]

Morningflower is a very old tortoiseshell WindClan elder with beautiful amber eyes. First seen in Fire and Ice as a queen, Firestar helped her to carry her kit, Gorsepaw, back to WindClan territory when WindClan had been driven out by ShadowClan; as seen in "Into the Wild".

In Forest of Secrets, Morningflower battles Firestar in a conflict between WindClan and ThunderClan, until she remembers that he had rescued her, her Clan, and her kit. She then backs down.

In The Darkest Hour, Morningflower is devastated by Gorsepaw's murder. Firestar, Tallstar, and Graystripe soothe her. In the battle with BloodClan, she yells "Gorsepaw! Gorsepaw!" while attacking the BloodClan warriors, as if taking her son's death out on them. At last, Morningflower felt avenged for the death of her son.

In The New Prophecy, Morningflower retires and becomes a WindClan elder, and in Starlight, she gets very sick from drinking unclean water that Mothwing of RiverClan had given her. Leafpool of ThunderClan nurses her back to health. In "The Sight" was infected by greencough ,doubted to recover by the clan but did.

She is still alive as of The Sight.

  • Mentor: Tallstar
  • Kin: Gorsepaw (kit)
  • Formerly Known as: Morningpaw (before Into the Wild, name mentioned in Secrets of the Clans)

Mudclaw[edit]

For information on the WindClan warrior, see here.

Mudclaw was a mottled dark brown tom and a former deputy of WindClan. He plays a minimal role in the original series, although he is very aggressive towards the other Clans, even to the point of stopping Bluestar from going to Highstones on "Rising Storm" from the 1st series. Mudclaw was usually the one to start or carry on a dispute. He becomes the deputy of WindClan after Deadfoot dies.

In Starlight, Mudclaw becomes significant after Tallstar elects Onestar as his deputy a few moments before he dies, claiming that Mudclaw was not the right cat to lead the Clan, so there will not be a severe rivalry between ThunderClan and WindClan. Mudclaw is outraged to hear about it, and he leads a revolt against Onestar, believing that he, as the original deputy, should have been leader. During the battle, however, he is killed by a tree struck by a bolt of lightning. The Clan cats take the lightning to be a sign from StarClan that Mudclaw was never meant to be WindClan's leader. Before his death, Mudclaw tells Brambleclaw about Hawkfrost's involvement in the coup. He says that Hawkfrost came to Mudclaw and offered help in return for making Hawkfrost WindClan's deputy and helping him to take over RiverClan later. Hawkfrost denies it and accuses Mudclaw of lying.

  • Apprentices: Webfoot, Crowfeather
  • Death: Killed by a falling tree, Starlight

Onestar[edit]

Onestar is a proud brown tabby tom and was once a good friend of Firestar. They met in Fire and Ice, the second book in the original series, when Firestar and Graystripe brought WindClan home from exile.

In Dawn, the third book in the New Prophecy, he helps Tallstar make the journey to the new lands, and is astonished when he is made deputy just before Tallstar passes on in Starlight. Onestar is at first uncertain about his place because Tallstar did not use the correct words. The sign from StarClan, a bolt of lightning killing Mudclaw, who led an uprising against Onestar, put the cat at ease and he received his name and lives from the Moonpool. Onestar visited the Moonpool between Starlight and Twilight.

In Twilight, Onestar and WindClan become very withdrawn from the other Clans because Onestar feels that they have relied too much on ThunderClan for help. He also feels that ThunderClan think that WindClan is helpless ever since they were driven out of the old forest by Brokenstar. However, these feelings do not stop Onestar and his warriors from coming to ThunderClan's aid in Twilight when their camp is overrun with badgers. WindClan's warriors also try to help find not only Crowfeather, but also Leafpool. Onestar later tells Firestar that the Clans can still help each other.

In The Sight, it's mentioned that Onestar is still semi-hostile toward ThunderClan. Seeing as how when Lionpaw was eavesdropping and heard the group talking about him and Leopardstar being interested when ThunderClan turned over land to ShadowClan and when Jaypaw heard the patrol saying WindClan and ShadowClan were pressing on their borders to make sure no cat would forget them or their strength so easily.

In Secrets of the Clans he gives a tour of the WindClan forest camp.

  • Apprentices: Whitetail, Gorsepaw
  • Formerly Known As: Onewhisker (Fire and Ice - Twilight)

Runningbrook[edit]

Runningbrook is a light gray tabby she-cat. She was an apprentice in Fire and Ice and Forest of Secrets. Her mentor was Tornear.

She was mentioned once in Forest of Secrets when Firestar and Graystripe were on their way back from visiting Ravenpaw.

She was made a warrior in Rising Storm.

In The Darkest Hour she is described as 'a she-cat who's pale gray fur was hanging off her shoulder in clumps'.

  • Mentor: Tornear
  • Formerly Known As: Runningpaw (Fire and Ice - Forest of Secrets)
  • Death : Unknown, Firestars quest

Tallstar[edit]

Tallstar was a black and white tom with a very long tail and amber eyes. He was the WindClan leader until Starlight, and was succeeded by Onestar.

He and his Clan were driven from their territory by Brokenstar in Into the Wild, and in Fire and Ice, Firestar and Graystripe brought WindClan home. Because of that, Tallstar has maintained a friendship with the two cats and ThunderClan. That friendship was temporarily ruptured when it was revealed that ThunderClan was sheltering Brokentail in Forest of Secrets, and WindClan attempted to kill Brokentail.

By A Dangerous Path, WindClan had renewed its friendship with ThunderClan, until Bluestar unfairly accused them of stealing prey. In The Darkest Hour, WindClan and ThunderClan joined to make LionClan, in order to fight Tigerstar, and later, RiverClan and ShadowClan join the alliance to defeat Scourge and BloodClan.

In Dawn, Tallstar and WindClan shelter with ThunderClan before they leave the forest, and in Starlight, Tallstar loses his final life to starvation and old age. As he dies, he names Onestar deputy of WindClan, because Mudclaw is not the right cat to lead it. However, he uses the wrong words; though only Firestar, Brambleclaw, and Onestar know this. In Twilight, Tallstar is among the StarClan warriors who comforts Cinderpelt when she is told of her coming death.

He is also the longest-living of the four original leaders when Firestar first came to the forest, living until Starlight.

  • Apprentice: Morningflower
  • Death: Old age, Starlight

Tawnyfur[edit]

Little is known about Tawnyfur, except that she was a golden brown she-cat, and her mentor was Tornear. She was an apprentice in Fire and Ice and in Rising Storm she was given her warrior name. Little else is known about Tawnyfur.

  • Mentor: Tornear
  • Formerly Known As: Tawnypaw (Fire and Ice - Rising Storm)

Tornear[edit]

Tornear was a tabby tom, and the oldest warrior in WindClan, still being a warrior in The Sight. In the battle with BloodClan in The Darkest Hour, he is killed, but he reappears in Midnight and he is still alive in The Sight (the authors have said this was a mistake). He has mentored four cats: Runningbrook, Tawnyfur, Owlwhisker, and Harepaw.

  • Apprentices: Runningbrook, Tawnyfur, Owlwhisker, Harepaw

Webfoot[edit]

Webfoot is a dark gray tabby tom. In Rising Storm when Webfoot was still an apprentice, he fought with Deadfoot and his mentor Mudclaw against Firestar, Sandstorm, and Cloudtail. Even though Cloudtail had been living as a kittypet for the past moon, he easily defeated Webfoot and then moved on to helping Sandstorm fight off Mudclaw. By A Dangerous Path, he had become a warrior. He gained Weaselfur as an apprentice in Dawn. In Starlight, he fought for Mudclaw's leadership. However, Onestar still allowed him to stay in the Clan. In The Sight, he is an elder.

  • Mentor: Mudclaw
  • Apprentice: Weaselfur
  • Formerly Known As: Webpaw (Fire and Ice - A Dangerous Path)

The New Prophecy[edit]

Main Characters[edit]

Crowfeather[edit]

Crowfeather is a dark gray, almost black tom with blue eyes and a sharp tongue. He is a WindClan warrior, and the son of Ashfoot. Crowfeather was chosen by Deadfoot of StarClan to be the WindClan cat to journey to speak with Midnight, a star-gazing badger.

Crowfeather is a snappish cat and has a barbed tongue, as shown in Midnight, notably when the questing cats are following Purdy through a Twolegplace. During Moonrise, he grew very fond of Feathertail, and became increasingly upset after her death, even running recklessly onto a Thunderpath later in Dawn. Though he was stopped, Crowfeather did not care if he died, saying, "I'm not frightened of joining StarClan! The forest is dying anyway. At least in StarClan, Feathertail will be waiting for me!"

In Dawn WindClan begs ThunderClan for shelter after the Twolegs begin destroying their camp. When Squirrelflight talks to Crowfeather, Tornear was said to have a hint of pride in his voice when he talked of Crowfeather feeding almost all the Clan.

On their journey with the Clans to their new home in Dawn Tallstar made Crowfeather a warrior. Crowfeather asked if he could choose the name of Crowfeather in honor of the deceased Feathertail, and Tallstar agrees. The newly named Crowfeather takes his vigil next to Feathertail's grave in the Tribe of Rushing Water's camp, a mountain cave. Leafpool believes that when he was sitting vigil that two ghostly silver cats stood on a nearby mountain peak, watching over Crowfeather. Seeing them, almost identical, she believes that they were the starry spirits of Feathertail and Silverstream.

Later in Starlight, he confesses his love to Leafpool, and she received this with shock, telling him that he couldn't love her. On the inside, Leafpool is relieved to hear that he feels the same way. Also during the battle, he fights side by side with Brambleclaw, driving away two ShadowClan warriors.

In Twilight, Crowfeather makes a plan with Leafpool to leave the Clans behind as there is no other way for them to be together. Leafpool agrees after fighting with Cinderpelt and going to the Moonpool, and they leave the forest, following the hills outside of WindClan territory. They spend a night there when they run into Midnight, who comes to deliver news that her kin are planning to attack the Clans for driving them out, and they only agree to go back because they can't leave their Clans to be torn to shreds. He tells Leafpool that he knew she would never give up her Clan for him, yet he still loves her just as much.

After they return to their own respective Clans, Crowfeather is unhappy that Leafpool would choose her own Clan over her love for him. In Sunset, Crowfeather abruptly but sadly breaks up their relationship, stating that it would be better if they never met again, and Leafpool sadly agrees.

In The Sight, Crowfeather has a son named Breezepaw with the WindClan she-cat Nightcloud. Also, Crowfeather pulls Jaypaw out of the lake, after he wandered into WindClan territory and fell in. Crowfeather returns him to ThunderClan afterwards and speaks very briefly with Leafpool, who feels uncomfortable and jealous of Nightcloud. Jaypaw senses the tension between the two cats after he saves Breezepaw from suffocating in a collapsed badger den. He knows Leafpool feels some longing, too. The authors have said that Crowfeather mated with Nightcloud to prove he was loyal to his Clan.

In Secrets of the Clans, Crowfeather talks about his love for Leafpool, and Feathertail, his true love and how it feels to love a cat from another Clan, and how hard it was live without the cat he loved. In another chapter, he gives a tour of the WindClan lake camp.

  • Mentor: Mudclaw

Gorsetail[edit]

Not much is known about Gorsetail. He is different from Gorsepaw, however, because Gorsepaw is dead, but has the same appearance. In Moonrise, Gorsetail hid in a Twoleg trap to hide from Mistyfoot, the RiverClan deputy. He is not mentioned before that. He is freed along with the other trapped cats in Dawn, In Dark River he is turned into a she and is listed as a queen in the alliances

  • Kin, Thistlekit, Sedgekit, Swallowkit (kits)

Oatwhisker was a creamy brown tabby tom elder of WindClan. Unusually, he does not appear in the Allegiances preceding Dawn, and after that he is not mentioned again.

Owlwhisker[edit]

Owlwhisker is a light brown tabby tom warrior of WindClan. Owlwhisker was first seen in Dawn, when he challenged the returning cats for crossing into their territory. Crowfeather, recognized Owlwhisker but thought he was still a kit. Owlwhisker also recognized Crowfeather. In Twilight, Owlwhisker was named a warrior but likely as a mistake, his name was stated to be Owlfeather. In Sunset and The Sight, the Allegiances stated his name was Owlwhisker.

Secondary Characters[edit]

Breezepaw[edit]

Breezepaw is a black tom with big, round, amber eyes and an apprentice of WindClan. He is the son of Crowfeather and Nightcloud. He has a sharp tongue, like his father, and in The Sight, Heatherpaw explains that Breezepaw is very bossy, and has had an attitude since he was a kit. Whitetail also tells Crowfeather that he should teach his son some manners, after Breezepaw is rude to Jaypaw for falling into the lake. He also thinks that Heatherpaw has to do what he says because Crowfeather (his father) is her mentor. Heatherpaw told him that he would be a warrior before he knew it and he would be able to boss all the apprentices in WindClan around. When he falls in the badger set with Lionpaw, Jaypaw helps rescue him.

Heatherpaw[edit]

Heatherpaw is a beautiful light brown tabby she-cat with heather-colored eyes, and Crowfeather's apprentice. She becomes friends with Lionpaw after meeting him at a Gathering. They also help each other during the dog chase in WindClan's territory, most notably when Lionpaw rescues Heatherpaw from being injured by a dog after she gets stuck in a rabbit hole. Back at WindClan's camp, while Onestar thanks the ThunderClan patrol, Heatherpaw adds that they couldn't have gotten rid of the dogs without them and that Lionpaw saved her. Lionpaw clearly has a crush on Heatherpaw and Heatherpaw clearly has a crush on Lionpaw. It is implied that Crowfeather also sees this, and pointedly stands between the two apprentices after Heatherpaw's compliment on Lionpaw's actions.

  • Mentor: Crowfeather

Kestrelpaw[edit]

Kestrelpaw is Barkface's apprentice. In The Sight Leafpool asks where he was while at the Moonpool, and Barkface replies that Kestrelpaw has come down with whitecough, and he made him stay in WindClan camp so the whitecough wouldn't infect the other medicine cats. He also came to Leafpool for catmint when there was greencough in WindClan, then later went to RiverClan. Otherwise, not much is known about Kestrelpaw.

  • Mentor: Barkface

Nightcloud[edit]

Nightcloud is a black she-cat, a WindClan warrior, and the mother of Crowfeather's son Breezepaw. Nightcloud is not a very mean cat, but is hostile and bossy, a bit like Breezepaw. She first appears in Starlight, when she supports Mudclaw and agrees that Onestar should not be leader, but she is not in the Allegiances pages until Twilight. In Sunset, she appeared as a queen.

In The Sight, when Jaypaw rescues Lionpaw and Breezepaw from suffocating in an old badger den that collapsed, Leafpool comes to help while Nightcloud and Crowfeather are there. She is very grateful and thanks Jaypaw at least twice.

  • Mate: Crowfeather
  • Kin: Breezepaw (kit)

Sedgekit[edit]

Not much is known about Sedgekit other than she is currently a WindClan kit who was mentioned at the end of the dog attack in The Sight, and that she is a brown tabby. Sedgekit was the one who objected to Millie's training to be a warrior by saying that she could never be a "real" warrior.

* Gorsetail, (mother) Thistlekit, Swallowkit (Siblings)

Whitetail[edit]

Whitetail is a small kindly white she-cat who is currently mentoring Breezepaw, Crowfeather's son. She is one of the cats that helps Jaypaw when he falls in the lake. She was also a queen in the old forest.

Eaglekit was a brown tom kit of WindClan, and was mentioned in the Secrets of the Clans. He was left with Morningflower, who was pregnant with Gorsekit, as his mother Ashfoot went to help hold off ShadowClan. The fate of Eaglekit is unknown. Ashfoot was listed as a queen for most of the first series. This could possibly mean that Eaglekit survived until sometime in the Warriors series. He was also mentioned in the prologue of Fire and Ice as Ashfoot protectively wrapped her tail around her kit at the thought of living in the sewers.

  • Kin: Ashfoot (mother) Crowfeather (brother) Breezepaw (nephew) Gorsestar, Windstar (ancestors)

Gorsestar[edit]

  • Mate: Windstar
  • Kin: Unknown kits (kits), Ashfoot, Crowfeather, Eaglekit, Breezepaw (descendants)
  • Formerly Known As: Gorsefur

Mothflight[edit]

Mothflight was a soft, white she-cat with stormy green eyes. She was the first medicine cat of any Clan. She was loyal and true to WindClan, yet her restlessness, curiosity, and dreaminess led her to exile. But StarClan sent a sign to Windstar that Mothflight must be accepted back to her Clan and become the medicine cat, for she found the Moonstone.

Stoneclaw[edit]

Stoneclaw was 'proudly' standing guard (he had received his warrior name) during the same dark night that ShadowClan drove WindClan out of their own territory. He was killed during the battle, and his sister, Thrushwing, fought like all of LionClan to avenge his death.

She interpreted signs with immense confidence, and was an expert herb finder. She was temperamental and quick to fight. Thrushpelt took care of WindClan through a sick-rabbit epidemic.

Thrushwing[edit]

Thrushwing was 'proudly' standing guard (she had received her warrior name) during the same dark night that ShadowClan drove WindClan out of their own territory. Her brother, Stoneclaw, was killed, and she sounded the alarm call.

She injured her leg from unknown causes, and she was 'fighting like LionClan to avenge the death of her brother'. She was one of the first to escape, leaning on Onestar's shoulder.

Kin: Stoneclaw (brother)

Windstar[edit]

Windstar was a wiry brown she-cat with yellow eyes, and a proud, wily, stubborn nature. She was the fastest cat in the forest. She was also the founder and first leader of WindClan, and worked with Thunderstar, Shadowstar, and Riverstar to develop the warrior code. She was also known as Wind. Many of her descendants run through her Clan today, including Ashfoot, WindClan's current deputy, Ashfoot's kits, Crowfeather and Eaglekit, and Crowfeather's son, Breezepaw.

During the Climax of Into the wild, he had planned to kill Ravenpaw, a ThunderClan appritnce, for knowing too much. Fireheart and Graystripe got him to Barley, a loner, before he could. Secondary Characters[edit]

Ashfur[edit]

For information on the ThunderClan warrior, see here.

Ashfur was a thin gray tom and was a ShadowClan elder. He was also a friend of Yellowfang's. He was a ShadowClan cat who didn't support Brokentail. He even helped Firestar, and Graystripe drive out Brokentail and his followers. He died due to unknown causes. Nothing else is known about him.

  • Death: Unknown causes

Blackstar[edit]

Blackstar is a large white tom with huge jet black paws and current leader of ShadowClan. He first appeared in Into The Wild as deputy of ShadowClan under Brokenstar and was driven into exile after his defeat. He continues to follow Brokentail until his leader is blinded and captured by ThunderClan. He then reappears again in A Dangerous Path as ShadowClan's deputy under Tigerstar and is completely loyal to him.

In The Darkest Hour, he obediently murders Stonefur after Stonefur refused to kill his apprentice, Stormfur, and Feathertail, his sister Mistyfoot's apprentice. After Tigerstar's death, Blackstar then reluctantly agrees to merge ShadowClan into LionClan to drive out BloodClan. After BloodClan's defeat, he is made into the full leader of ShadowClan. He chose Russetfur, a former rogue cat, to be his deputy.

In The New Prophecy he agrees to leave the forest with the other Clans after Twolegs destroy the ShadowClan camp during the famine in the old forest.

In Sunset, he and Leopardstar agree that WindClan and ThunderClan should give up a part of their territories for RiverClan and ShadowClan. This creates conflict between ThunderClan and ShadowClan, especially after Blackstar leads ShadowClan in attacking ThunderClan.

In The Sight, he tries to take ThunderClan territory (an idea that Firestar partially encouraged by giving ShadowClan a piece of poor hunting ground), and was beaten horribly.

Blackstar is often portrayed as a leader with only his own Clan in mind. He has no patience with kittypets or cats who are not Clan-born, and he does not suffer fools lightly. However, Blackstar shows a more caring side toward cats who need his help during Dawn, in which he is seen protecting an apprentice who is trying to escape from the Twoleg "monsters", and then running back to grab a kit.

  • Apprentice: Tallpoppy
  • Formerly Known As: Blackfoot (Into the Wild - between The Darkest Hour and Midnight)

Boulder[edit]

Boulder was a skinny gray tom, and a former BloodClan warrior who left and joined ShadowClan. He was a friend and follower of Brokentail. Later, he was exiled with Brokentail, Blackstar, and Clawface. When Tigerstar became leader, Boulder was brought back into ShadowClan. In the prologue of The Darkest Hour, he and Tigerstar went into BloodClan territory so Tigerstar could meet Scourge. When Scourge killed Tigerstar, Jaggedtooth joined BloodClan, and Boulder thought it was worth betraying BloodClan so he could get his claws in Jaggedtooth's fur. He fought alongside LionClan (the four Clans combined, led by Firestar) to fight BloodClan.

In The New Prophecy, he was an elder. However, he didn't appear in the allegiances until Dawn.

He didn't appear in the allegiances in The Sight, leading to the fact that he might have died in the six moons between Sunset and The Sight.

In Secrets of the Clans he gives a tour of the ShadowClan forest camp.

  • Apprentice: Wetfoot
  • Death: Unknown causes; Sunset - The Sight

Brightflower[edit]

Brightflower was a black-and-white queen. In Into the Wild, when Brokenstar revealed that he was the killer of her two kits she let out a wail of grief. She wasn't mentioned again after Into the Wild.

  • Kin: Unknown kits (kits)

Brokentail[edit]

Brokentail was a long-haired, dark brown tabby with a flat face and amber eyes. His name comes from the fact that his tail is bent like a broken branch. Brokentail was the illegitimate son of Raggedstar, ShadowClan's former leader, and Yellowfang, ShadowClan's former medicine cat. Two of her kits died, and she thought that was her punishment for breaking the warrior code, but she later on says to Firestar that her punishment was that he lived. A ShadowClan queen named Lizardstripe (grudgingly) took care of Brokentail as a kit since his mother did not want to break the warrior code. In Secrets of the Clans, Yellowfang claims that she named him 'Broken' not because of the bend in his tail, but for the way her heart felt after giving her only surviving kit up.

He killed his father, Raggedstar, to become leader. Under his leadership, kits were put into apprenticeship at three moons, when they weren't ready, and named full warriors at five. He also blamed the deaths of two kits belonging to a queen named Brightflower on Yellowfang, resulting in her expulsion from ShadowClan. In truth, it was Brokentail who had killed the kits during battle training and then brought their bodies to Yellowfang. Brokentail was very bloodthirsty for leadership.

Brokentail tried to force the other Clans into giving ShadowClan hunting rights on their territories after forcing WindClan out of its territory. RiverClan agreed, but ThunderClan did not, leading to further tension between ShadowClan and ThunderClan.

ThunderClan and ShadowClan warriors overthrew Brokentail and sent him into exile in Into the Wild. In Fire and Ice, he attacked ThunderClan with a band of rogues. After being blinded by Yellowfang and losing most of his lives, he is taken as a prisoner by ThunderClan and renamed Brokentail by Bluestar. ThunderClan's mercy leads to problems between it and the other Clans, particularly WindClan and ShadowClan.

In Forest of Secrets, Brokentail and Tigerclaw betrayed ThunderClan by bringing in rogues to attack ThunderClan. This was part of Tigerclaw's plot to kill the leader, Bluestar. After the battle, Yellowfang takes Brokentail's last life by feeding him deathberries. Before he dies she reveals to him she is his mother.

In Sunset, it is revealed that Brokentail walks in the same dark forest, called the Place of No Stars, that Tigerstar, Clawface, Hawkfrost, and Darkstripe do. Darkstripe scents Brokentail and asks where he is, yet because the cats in the Place of No Stars rarely meet, Tigerstar tells Darkstripe that Brokentail won't answer him.

Little is known about Brownpaw other than that he was an apprentice under Brokenstar's leadership. Brownpaw was not in the Allegiances again after A Dangerous Path.

  • Mentor: Stumpytail

Cinderfur[edit]

Cinderfur was a thin gray tom and Nightstar's only deputy. Like Nightstar, he was an elder when Brokenstar was driven out. He was one of the first cats to die from the rat-carried disease in Rising Storm. Nothing else is known about him.

  • Death: Sickness, Rising Storm

Clawface[edit]

Clawface was a dark brown tom with a scarred face that presumeably earned him his name. He was a warrior of ShadowClan and a loyal follower of Brokentail. In Into the Wild, he killed Spottedleaf and kidnapped Frostfur's kits. In Fire and Ice, he was killed by Graystripe.

In Secrets of the Clans it is revealed that he walks in the Place of No Stars, with Brokentail, Tigerstar, Hawkfrost, and Darkstripe.

  • Apprentice: Littlecloud
  • Death: Killed by Graystripe, Fire and Ice

He speaks with Firestar and Graystripe at their first Gathering, and they tell him about the ancient LionClan, TigerClan and LeopardClan.

In Rising Storm, he and his friend Whitethroat flee ShadowClan because they had a disease caught from eating rats that came from the Carrionplace. Cinderpelt hides them and heals their sickness against Bluestar's orders, and she finds the right combination of herbs and berries that will cure them. Whitethroat later dies crossing the Thunderpath, yet Littlecloud survives and becomes ShadowClan's medicine cat apprentice, inspired by how Cinderpelt saved him. He has great respect for and a good relationship with Cinderpelt, always waiting for her at Fourtrees on the medicine cats' regular visits to the Moonstone.

At some point between the first series and The New Prophecy, Littlecloud succeedes Runningnose as ShadowClan's medicine cat, while Runningnose retires to the elders' den. In Sunset, Littlecloud is shocked to learn of Cinderpelt's death, and he deeply misses her. In The Sight he dicusses injuries with Leafpool.

  • Mentors: Clawface, Runningnose (after Littlecloud's sickness was cured)
  • Formerly Known As: Littlepaw (Into the Wild)

Mosspaw[edit]

Not much is known about Mosspaw except Mosspaw was one of Brokentail's apprentices, who mysteriously died.

  • Mentor: Brokenstar

Nightstar[edit]

Nightstar was a black tom and was a former ShadowClan leader, after Brokentail and before Tigerstar. He was one of the cats who carried out the ShadowClan coup in Into the Wild to overthrow Brokentail with the help of ThunderClan. He gave Firestar trouble later on, when he discovers Brokentail still lived. He dies of sickness in Rising Storm, and is succeeded by Tigerstar.

In A Dangerous Path, Firestar learns from Runningnose, ShadowClan's medicine cat, that Nightstar had not been granted nine lives by StarClan because by the time ShadowClan had learned of Brokentail's death, Nightstar was too weak to make the journey to the Moonstone to receive his lives. Because ShadowClan would have panicked if they'd known the truth, StarClan's rejection of Nightstar was kept secret and the Clan cats were convinced that the sickness had taken all of Nightstar's lives at once.

In The New Prophecy series, Nightstar is the cat who chooses Tawnypelt to represent ShadowClan in the journey to speak with Midnight, showing that StarClan was not angry with him about becoming leader when Brokentail was still alive. He also was seen in Starlight, when he expressed nervousness about Hawkfrost of RiverClan.

  • Apprentice: Dawncloud
  • Death: Sickness, Rising Storm
  • Formerly Known As: Nightpelt (Into the Wild)

Raggedstar[edit]

Raggedstar was the ShadowClan leader before Brokentail (his son and deputy) was. He has a ragged, patchy pelt from fighting as a kit. Raggedstar was said to be a noble cat, and was also Yellowfang's mate (although this was against the warrior code, because Yellowfang was the medicine cat). He was very proud of his son Brokentail, according to Yellowfang, blind to his faults until the very end. Brokentail killed him and lied to the rest of ShadowClan. He said that Raggedstar was ambushed by an enemy Clan patrol. It was revealed that Brokentail lied when he tried to kill Yellowfang. Also, according to Yellowfang, when Raggedstar was leader, ShadowClan were feared for their strength.

In Secrets of the Clans he is said to have paid no attention to Yellowfang, and only to his son. After his second deputy, Cloudpelt, died, Brokentail was old enough to be ShadowClan's next deputy. It is also known that ShadowClan thought that Foxheart, Raggedstar's first deputy, was Brokentail's mother. Nothing else is known about him.

  • Apprentices: Clawface, Brokentail
  • Mate: Yellowfang (ShadowClan/ThunderClan)
  • Kin: Brokenstar (son), unnamed kits (died shortly after their birth)
  • Death: Killed by Brokenstar, before Into the Wild

Runningnose[edit]

Runningnose was a gray and white ShadowClan tom and the former ShadowClan medicine cat. He retired after The Darkest Hour. He was described as having a nose that seemed to be permanently crusted as though he has a cold, and quite a high, whining voice. Yellowfang, despite being his mentor, didn't have much faith in his healing skills, saying he couldn't even cure his own cold. Also in Rising Storm, he gets a sign from StarClan of a great leader who happened to be Tigerstar. He isn't very confident about this sign, avoiding the questioning eyes as Tigerstar described it. He is also very jumpy and nervous.

He took on Littlecloud as an apprentice after he and Whitethroat came back with the cure for the sickness gotten by eating the rats from the carrionplace. He was the only medicine cat to live long enough to become an elder.

  • Mentor: Yellowfang
  • Apprentice: Littlecloud
  • Death: Unknown causes (Dawn - Twilight)

Russetfur[edit]

Russetfur is a dark ginger she-cat and the current deputy of ShadowClan. She was a rogue cat before she joined either Brokenstar and then Tigerstar, or just Tigerstar during their respective exiles. She is a very proud, sharp-tongued cat.

During Twilight, Russetfur was unhappy that ShadowClan needed help from ThunderClan when it came to dealing with the two kittypets in their territory.

In Sunset, she and two warriors (Oakfur and Cedarheart of ShadowClan) watched Berrypaw suffer in a fox trap on ThunderClan's side of the border. When Squirrelflight demanded to Russetfur why she didn't help Berrypaw, Russetfur replied that ShadowClan stuck to the warrior code (by respecting Clan boundaries, although they were breaking the warrior code anyway by not helping Berrypaw) and that they had nothing to do with kittypets. Later in the book, she attacked ThunderClan and was badly beaten. The same thing happened in The Sight.

  • Apprentice: Cedarheart

Stumpytail[edit]

Stumpytail was a warrior of ShadowClan during Brokentail's leadership. He was one of the few warriors that did not leave with Brokentail to go into exile. He was a dark brown tabby tom.

  • Apprentice: Brownpaw

Volepaw[edit]

Not much is know about Volepaw except that Volepaw was one of Brokentail's apprentices, who mysteriously died.

  • Mentor: Brokentail

Wetfoot[edit]

Wetfoot was a gray tabby tom warrior of ShadowClan. He was mentored by Boulder. In Fire and Ice, he congratulated Firestar and Graystripe on becoming warriors at a Gathering. At the same Gathering, he introduced his apprentice, Oakfur, and Blackclaw of RiverClan.

In Forest of Secrets he was one of the ShadowClan warriors who attacked the ThunderClan camp to try and kill Brokenstar. He jumped at Bluestar, and Firestar fought him off.

  • Mentor: Boulder
  • Apprentice: Oakfur
  • Formerly Known As: Wetpaw (before Into the Wild - Into the Wild)

Whitethroat[edit]

Whitethroat was a black and white tom with a white throat and underbelly, and he was a ShadowClan warrior. He appeared in Rising Storm with Littlecloud. They were both suffering from the sickness that had killed a lot of ShadowClan cats. Cinderpelt secretly sheltered them on ThunderClan territory and healed them. Then they returned to their territory. Days after Tigerclaw was banished Whitethroat was seen looking at Fireheart under a twoleg bridge his eyes showed that he was scared. Fireheart saw Whitethroat get killed by Tigerclaw. *Death: Killed by Tigerclaw , Rising Storm

The New Prophecy[edit]

Main Characters[edit]

Tawnypelt[edit]

Tawnypelt is a tortoiseshell she-cat with green eyes and a ShadowClan warrior (Formerly from ThunderClan, but ShadowClan accepted her more). She is the daughter of Tigerstar and Goldenflower, sister of Brambleclaw, and the half-sister of Swiftpaw, Hawkfrost, and Mothwing. She is also the aunt to Hollypaw, Jaypaw, and Lionpaw. She was born in Forest of Secrets.

In The Darkest Hour, she joined ShadowClan shortly after she discovered that her father was the leader there. Although Tigerstar was revealed to be tyrannical and evil, she remained with her chosen Clan because she felt more accepted there than in ThunderClan.

In Firestar's Quest it was revealed that Oakfur was her ShadowClan mentor.

In Midnight, she was chosen by Nightstar of StarClan to be the ShadowClan cat to journey to speak with Midnight. During the trek, Tawnypelt gets bitten on her shoulder by a rat, and limps painfully for most of the time. The cats eventually find burdock root, thanks to Leafpool and Squirrelflight's special bond, and Tawnypelt's wound is temporarily soothed. When they meet Midnight, the badger continues to cure Tawnypelt's wound with some burdock root. In Moonrise, the wound breaks open again, and Stoneteller cures her with his own herbs.

In Dawn, Tawnypelt runs to ThunderClan camp, and begs them to help her when the Twolegs are attacking ShadowClan. ThunderClan agrees to help, and ShadowClan eventually shelters with ThunderClan since their camp is destroyed.

In Starlight, Tawnypelt's role is small. Unlike Brambleclaw, Tawnypelt does not acknowledge that Hawkfrost is her half-brother, and unlike most of ShadowClan's warriors, Tawnypelt does not help Mudclaw with his coup.

In Twilight, Squirrelflight sees Tawnypelt being attacked by a hostile kittypet that lives in their territory. She explains to Squirrelflight how the kittypet and his tabby friend gave an apprentice, Talonpaw, such serious injuries that he died soon after dragging himself back to camp. The kittypets' Twolegs also threw something at Cedarheart, breaking his leg. Together, ThunderClan and ShadowClan come up with a plan to stop the kittypets from attacking ShadowClan without their Twolegs interfering. When their plan is successful, Blackstar thanks ThunderClan and Onestar angrily calls Blackstar and Leopardstar terrible leaders for depending so much on ThunderClan.

In Sunset, we discover that Tawnypelt, like Hawkfrost and Brambleclaw is visited by Tigerstar, yet she is the only one to reject him. While Brambleclaw is watching she tells Tigerstar that he only became leader by twisting the warrior code out of proportion in order to get what he wants. She then tells Brambleclaw that he should stop listening to Tigerstar because he had been accepting everything they had tried to avoid since they were kits. She even tells him she was happy that Tigerstar was killed by Scourge after discovering the tyrant he was.

Throughout the entire series, Tawnypelt doesn't seem to be aware that Hawkfrost and Mothwing are her half siblings, but it was mentioned in Dawn that they are Tigerstar's children to all the Clans by Hawkfrost's and Mothwing's mother, Sasha, so it seems she doesn't pay attention to them like Brambleclaw does. Also, until Sunset, she doesn't seem phased when Brambleclaw mentions that he shares his dreams with Hawkfrost.

In The Sight, Tawnypelt is listed as a queen in the Allegiances, however, her kits were not mentioned in the Allegiances. In a recent author chat, the authors have said that Rowanclaw is her mate. [1]

In Secrets of the Clans, she gives a tour of the ShadowClan lake camp.

Secondary Characters[edit]

Applekit[edit]

Not much is known about Applekit. She becomes friends with Birchfall on the Great Journey. When Applekit's siblings mew their good-byes as the Clans separated after the Great Journey, Applekit runs up and touches noses with Birchfall instead. She and her siblings are not mentioned in The Sight.

In Secrets of the Clans, when Birchfall speaks about becoming an apprentice, he mentions that he hopes to see her and her two siblings at the Gathering, which hints that they might still be alive.

  • Kin: Tallpoppy (mother), Marshkit, Toadkit (siblings)

Cedarheart[edit]

Cedarheart is a dark, gray tom and a current ShadowClan elder.

In Twilight Cedarheart was part of the patrol sent to kill the two kittypets, and his leg was broken when the kittypet's Twoleg threw a hard object at him, and it hit his leg, breaking it.

In The Sight he was an elder. This is probably because of the broken leg he got when a Twoleg threw something sharp at him in Twilight.

  • Mentor: Russetfur
  • Formerly Known As: Cedarpaw (The Darkest Hour - between The Darkest Hour and Midnight)

Marshkit[edit]

Not much is known about Marshkit. He becomes friends with Birchfall on the Great Journey. In the mountains in Dawn, he was almost taken by a hawk, but Brackenfur of ThunderClan saved him. He and his siblings are not mentioned in 'The Sight.

In Secrets of the Clans, when Birchfall speaks about becoming an apprentice, he mentions that he hopes to see him and his two siblings at the Gathering, which hints that they might still be alive.

  • Kin: Tallpoppy (mother), Applekit, Toadkit (siblings)

Nightwing[edit]

Nightwing is a black she-cat queen in ShadowClan. Not much is known about her since she was never mentioned before Dawn nor after, but her son, Smokepaw, died from a fall in the mountains when they were traveling to the lake, and she cried out his name in agony. She was comforted by Blackstar. She has not been mentioned since then.

Oakfur[edit]

Oakfur is a small brown tom. Little else is known about Oakfur, though in The Sight he was still a warrior.

  • Mentor: Wetfoot
  • Apprentices: Smokepaw, Tawnypelt
  • Formerly Known As: Oakpaw (Fire And Ice - between Rising Storm and The Darkest Hour)

Rowanclaw[edit]

Rowanclaw is a ginger tom with a slightly mean attitude. In the first three books of The New Prophecy, "he" was a she-cat, but it has been confirmed that he is a tom. In Twilight, his apprentice, Talonpaw, was killed by a pair of kittypets, and he led a patrol to seek revenge. The authors have confirmed that he is Tawnypelt's mate and the father of her kits. Like most ShadowClan cats, he dislikes half-Clans, but his attitude apparently changes, because he mates with ThunderClan-born Tawnypelt, and his kits are technically half-Clan themselves.

  • Mentor: Jaggedtooth
  • Apprentices: Talonpaw, Ivypaw
  • Mate: Tawnypelt
  • Kin: Tigerkit, Flamekit, Dawnkit (kits)
  • Formerly Known As: Rowanpaw (A Dangerous Path - between The Darkest Hour and Midnight)

Smokepaw[edit]

Smokepaw was a gray tom apprentice of ShadowClan. Not much is known about him.

In Dawn, he fell off a cliff and died. His mother, Nightwing, wanted Blackstar to save him, but Blackstar said there was no way he could have survived that fall. He promised Nightwing that ShadowClan will never forget Smokepaw.

  • Mentor: Oakfur
  • Kin: Nightwing (mother)
  • Death: Fell off a cliff, Dawn

Tallpoppy[edit]

Tallpoppy is an attractive, brave, long-legged light brown tabby she-cat. She is the mother of Marshkit, Applekit, and Toadkit. Tallpoppy made friends with Ferncloud and Dawnflower on the Great Journey. She retired in The Sight.

  • Mentor: Blackstar
  • Kin: Marshkit, Applekit, Toadkit, unknown kits (kits)
  • Formerly Known As: Tallpaw (before Into the Wild, name mentioned in Secrets of the Clans)

Talonpaw[edit]

Talonpaw was a ShadowClan apprentice, and had Rowanclaw as his mentor. He was killed by the two kittypets near ShadowClan territory. He managed to drag himself back to camp, despite having his legs broken, where he died. Rowanclaw was upset by this loss, and agrees to attack the kittypets, convincing Blackstar to do so also.

  • Mentor: Rowanclaw
  • Death: Blood loss, Twilight

Toadkit[edit]

Not much is known about Toadkit. He becomes friends with Birchfall on the Great Journey. He and his siblings might have died in their new home, as they are not mentioned ever again.

In Secrets of the Clans, when Birchfall speaks about becoming an apprentice, he mentions that he hopes to see him and his two siblings at the Gathering, which hints that they might still be alive.

  • Kin: Tallpoppy (mother), Applekit, Marshkit (siblings)

Power of Three[edit]

Secondary Characters[edit]

Ivypaw[edit]

Ivypaw is a brown tabby she-cat described as very rude, overconfident, snobby, vain, and cool-tempered. In The Sight, she commented that she could beat Hollypaw in a fight during the contest, and Hollypaw accepts the challenge. Brackenfur intervenes before anything happens. Her mentor is Rowanclaw.

  • Mentor: Rowanclaw

Owlpaw[edit]

Owlpaw is a brown tabby tom with a very aggressive attitude toward ThunderClan. He often mocks ThunderClan because of the former kittypets and warriors from other Clans, plus Graystripe and Daisy's kits, that have status in the Clan. He is a great hunter, and wins the hunting contest, though Lionpaw and Breezepaw were taken out of the event due to falling into a fallen badger den.

His mentor is Smokefoot. In The Sight, Owlpaw heartlessly mocks Jaypaw because of Jaypaw's blindness. He also taunted Berrypaw, calling him a kittypet.

  • Mentor: Smokefoot

Smokefoot[edit]

Smokefoot is a black tom warrior of ShadowClan. Not much is known about him.

Smokefoot is not the same cat as Smokepaw, as Smokepaw was gray, and Smokefoot is black.

In The Sight, he gets his first apprentice, Owlpaw. Both Smokefoot and Owlpaw mock Jaypaw, but are chased away by ThunderClan.

  • Apprentice: Owlpaw

Snowbird[edit]

Snowbird is a pure white she-cat. She was not mentioned as a warrior or an apprentice in Sunset, so her origins are unknown. The only time she was mentioned was in the Allegiances portion of The Sight.

Firestar's Quest[edit]

Secondary Characters[edit]

Dawnstar[edit]

Dawnstar was a creamy brown she-cat and the leader of ShadowClan when SkyClan was driven out. She refused to allow SkyClan cats to share her territory. Later, she apologizes for sending SkyClan into exile. She also gives Leafstar the life of determination. Firestar wondered how such a graceful cat could have become a leader of ShadowClan.

Hollowbelly[edit]

Hollowbelly was a black-and-white tom and a warrior of ShadowClan when SkyClan was driven out. Nothing else is known about him.

Molepelt[edit]

Molepelt was a small black tom and the medicine cat of ShadowClan when SkyClan was driven out. Nothing else is known about him.

Warriors Field Guide: Secrets of the Clans[edit]

Cloudpelt[edit]

Cloudpelt was Raggedstar's second deputy. He didn't last much longer than Foxheart did. Nothing else is known about him.

Foxheart[edit]

Foxheart was one of Raggedstar's deputies. Most of ShadowClan seemed to think that Brokentail was her son, since Raggedstar was easy on her and because she was a bit quiet and kept to herself. She didn't seem to mind the rumors, according to Yellowfang, because it made other cats respect her. She died during a battle with rats at Carrionplace. Nothing else is known about her.

Lizardstripe[edit]

Lizardstripe was a brown she-cat with a white underbelly. She was the ShadowClan queen who suckled Brokentail. She seemed to hate kits, even at one point saying she didn't choose to have them, and seemed to be very grumpy. She says at one point, "I would have made Mudclaw have these brats of mine himself," while talking about her kits. The Mudclaw she is referring to is not the WindClan warrior, because he is too young. She was against taking in Brokentail at first, but she had no choice but to take good care of Brokentail. Raggedstar pointed out that it was a great opportunity to suckle a leader's kit. She died from greencough shortly after Foxheart died. Nothing else is known about Lizardstripe.

  • Mate: Mudclaw
  • Kin: Unnamed kits
  • Death: Died of greencough

Mudclaw[edit]

for information on the WindClan warrior see here.

Mudclaw was a ShadowClan warrior.

  • Mate: Lizardstripe
  • Kin: Unnamed kits

Pebbleheart[edit]

Pebbleheart was a dark gray tabby tom and the first medicine cat of ShadowClan. He was selfless, caring, and desperate to help his Clanmates with any problem. He weakened himself by working tirelessly and realized that the rats of Carrionplace were a source of infection. Ironically, he died of a rat-bourne illness.

Shadowstar[edit]

Shadowstar was a black she-cat with green eyes and thick fur. She was a strategist, ferociously independent, and was bold in battle. She was the founder and first leader of ShadowClan and worked with Thunderstar, Windstar, and Riverstar to develop the warrior code, but spent the rest of her life complaining about it. She was formerly known as Shadow. Shadowstar was the first of the four original leaders to lose all nine lives, losing her last life in a battle she started with other Clans.

  • Formerly Known As: Shadow
