July 2009[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Mark Alexander (pianist) has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): \bmyspace\.com (links: http://www.myspace.com/markalexanderkeys (redirect from http://www.markalexandermusic.com/), http://www.myspace.com/markalexanderkeys).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 04:52, 30 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  1. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added such as to the page Mark Alexander (pianist) do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia.

  1. Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Mark Alexander (pianist). Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by some search engines, including Google. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it.

A tag has been placed on Mark Alexander (pianist) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Your article[edit]

I saw your note on the New Contributors help page, and had a look at your article on your sandbox page. It looks good, except for the lack of citations. It may seem like a chore to find your first few, but once you have created one, it gets easier from there. Do a Google search and you will probably be able to find articles that back up statements in your article, i.e. who he played with, and maybe some biographical information. You might also find more facts to add. With citations, this article should be able to withstand a deletion challenge.

Some notes on text style: song titles should be in double quotes (but not italics), album titles should be in italics (but not quotes), people and bands should be in normal text without quotes, and check to see if any of these already have articles at Wikipedia, in which case they should be wikilinked, but only on their first appearance in the article.

Regarding a link to Facebook, this is generally discouraged at Wikipedia. I saw someone advised you otherwise, and you will see some Facebook links in articles, but you will also see them being removed frequently, so it's best to not have it. --A Knight Who Says Ni (talk) 09:51, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Mark Alexander Keyboardist Producer Songwriter.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Mark Alexander Keyboardist Producer Songwriter.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:57, 13 September 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Istcol (talk) 02:57, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not following why you removed Mark Alexander (keyboardist)from the Dab page Mark Alexander. Is there something I'm missing? If not, I plan to put it back.--SPhilbrickT 17:42, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
