Subpages[edit]

Hope you don't mind, I saw your question on Titoxd's page because he's on my watchlist and I figured I could give you a quick answer. The easiest way is to put User:KnowledgeOfSelf/whateveryouwannacallthesubpage in the search bar for wikipedia and "go" to the page. That will open an editing window just like you are trying to create a new article. Or you can do basically what I just did, and create a link to the nonexistent subpage and click on it. --Syrthiss 04:57, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Society of American Indians[edit]

I'm writing a biographical sketch of JNB Hewitt for my History of Anthropology class and found an article he contributed to their journal ("The Teaching of Ethnology in Indian Schools" V1:30-35). I was wondering if you knew of any secondary sources offering a history of the group.

Thanks for your entry on the Society! Matthew

Thank[edit]

At first, Wikipedia is something weird to me, I dont know why wikipedia is both a big and free ency. , and everyone can edit it.

it makes me feel like the wikipedia is my close houe for my research. Thank in advanced !!

While this username may be tasteless and imature, I don't see as a violation of Wikipedia:Username. Technically, "Porn" or "Porno" are not pornographic or obcene. However, there's a fair chance this user is a sockpuppet of User:X558, and if so, we'll block him soon enough anyway... Owen× 19:33, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Not a waste of my time at all! I've seen your good work all around, and hope you join us soon as an admin! Owen× 19:37, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

2003 NFL Draft[edit]

Very good work on that page; It looks great. Now try to add a bit of an introduction to the top of the article, just to provide context (2-5 sentences would be good). Lastly, I have a uploaded a snapshot of myself (I took it with my cell-phone on December 9.) Oran e (t) (c) (e-mail) 21:51, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Reverting[edit]

Your name shows up in my history page as reverting messages back. Please don't do that, I understand blanking your page is O.K. Thanks!Subwayjack 00:36, 10 December 2005 (UTC)Subwayjack[reply]

Page protection for George W. Bush[edit]

For George W. Bush, and can part of the revisions that can be seen in the history be removed? Thanks KnowledgeOfSelf | talk 00:49, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, page protection is vital - no one must see the vandalised versions, we'd be a laughing stock. Izehar (talk) 00:51, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
This has been discussed many times before; check the Talk archives of that article for hours of arguments about that very topic. A better alternative for limiting vandalism to popular targets is now being debated on Wikipedia:Semi-protection policy. If you haven't done so yet, go voice your opinion there! Owen× 01:06, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I understand, and what was happening there was really horrible. But I have a basic disagreement with how that situation is handled, and since half the admins are already watching that article, I felt I better stay out. At some point I hope consensus will change, and a more permanent solution would finally be adopted. Owen× 01:35, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I'm guessing they'll get rid of anything which was instantly reverted. That'll get rid of about 90% of the history, most likely. If edits are removed in pairs that way (vandalism-revert), the GFDL integrity can be maintained. If an edit is not reverted by the next edit, removing it from the history may be tricky. I think the main concern, however, are offensive comments in the edit-summaries. Owen× 01:46, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently they only got rid of a couple of edit-summaries which contained some personal information. Owen× 01:49, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Better yet, if this semi-protection goes through, a lot of RC patrollers could go back to real editing! :) Owen× 02:11, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

Thanks for reverting the vandalism on my page. --Nlu (talk) 02:21, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Mad Awesome Italian Noodles[edit]

No problem : ), the fact that it is deleted and the garbage has been taken out is what matters. Nice user page by the way, take care. εγκυκλοπαίδεια* (talk) 02:23, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I sort have sort of adopted your talk format, but not quite: the colors are the opposite of my user page. Ask, and I'll revert. εγκυκλοπαίδεια* (talk) 02:47, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

OOOPS!!! Sorry to make extra work for you. Confronted with both a blank discussion page and a blank user page I chose the user page. I realize now I made the wrong choice. Thanks for cleaning up after me. --Schmiteye 04:36, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Tag & Bag[edit]

Man, I do work quick, don't I? I cannot believe the incredible stupidity of going through the trouble of creating an account only to do the equivalent of scribbling on the wall of a truck stop restroom. If I want to do that, there's a truck stop up on I-10 I can visit anytime.  :) - Lucky 6.9 07:26, 11 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

It is just getting stoopid. I just now deleted an article about a nn church that meets not far from where I live...in an industrial complex. Total link spam. Even the title wasn't within convention. Sheesh. - Lucky 6.9 07:32, 11 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, i assume you are an admin and i need your help. Once Moore is the new album by pop singer Mandy Moore and mandy herself has been very tightliped about it. Now the information on the article is pretty bare granted the information i could find. Apparently people from the a mandy moore forum have erased info on the page now you can make a decision on what i should do. This is a msessage from mandy on her official site.

"Hey there, On a lunch break right now from a writing session with the amazing Rachael Yamagata. Rachael is one of the coolest people I have ever met and I am so lucky to be working with someone this talented. For those of you unfortunate ones who don't know about her, go and check out "Happenstance" .....NOW! Amazing, amazing record and she has another one in the works. Anyway, the record is coming along great... About 15 songs written and recorded with a few more to go. The whole writing process for me has become one of the most enjoyable things I have ever done. So far, I have collaborated with Adam Duritz, Michelle Branch, Lori McKenna (the AMAZING Lori McKenna! - going back east to work with her again this coming week), Chantal Kreviazuk and James Renald. I am getting so psyched to put this record out and hit the road for the first time in a LONG time. The live aspect of this record is gonna be so great to take on the road!

Wow, I have no idea what this person is saying; the writing is very confusing. Maybe they want the page to be saved (as there is an AFD sign on it). Ive reread the message but can't seem to decide what. Oran e (t) (c) (e-mail) 20:32, 11 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah its so weird. I don't know how to reply. Just tell the user that you don't fully understand the request. If they want the sign to be removed, it cant be. Oran e (t) (c) (e-mail) 20:43, 11 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Uh...what?!? Jeez, the article is just this side of illegible. Thanks for letting me know. - Lucky 6.9 00:26, 12 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

RE. 2003 NFL Draft[edit]

I'm not sure exactly what could be added to the article. Everything I've just tried to think of would be almost like I was attempting to analyze the draft. Pretty much original research. Any thoughts on what to add will be most welcome. And I'd say 16 myself. lol :-D KnowledgeOfSelf | talk 23:00, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You could simply tell what a draft is or how many people were drafted; nothing big. Oran e (t) (c) (e-mail) 20:35, 11 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I've noticed your interest on this subject, and since Indian Wars happen to be my personal passion, I wondered if you don't have any other information to add to the article or to other related ones, like Mendocino War. Unfortunately, I'm not that familiar with California Indian Wars, since although I do have more information to add, it's not in the quantity nor the quality I could provide to events located i.e., in Illinois, Wisconsin, Texas et al. If the project still interests you, please contact me. Have a nice day, Phaedriel 23:38, 11 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

hi[edit]

I incorrectly moved the Vfd to that article, if you look at the vfd you will see that it is regarding Non-Muslim (term). You can double check that by seeing that i hade changed the code for the vfd from {{PAGENAME}} to "Non-Muslim". I just undid my move. --Striver 01:32, 12 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, i should have not done that in the first place.
Yes i do, thanks for the idea! No problem , dont worry. Peace!

I noticed you had voted Keep on the AFD. You might note that the article is likely a hoax ("John Fullerton" football yields 258 results on Google). Ral315 (talk) 17:00, 12 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sanjiang University OR Sanjiang College[edit]

hi steve: I am editing the entry about "Sanjiang University". It seems you edited it recently and changed it into Sanjiang University. As far as I known, it is officially called " Sanjiang College" according to the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China (http://www.moe.edu.cn/). I think it very important to give the genuine name of this university's name. I hope you can check it out and correct it as soon as possible because I was an alumnus of this school.

Thanks and look forward to your reply.
