Sorry for the mistaken rvv[edit]

I was doing some RC duty and somehow got mixed up. I was trying to revert the Jake Fogelnest in the same way you did seconds before. I somehow missed your edit and mistakenly reverted your cleanup tag. Sorry about that--I have to do my reverts manually. -Nick 05:50, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Busy is old; Super Busy is correct.[edit]

Did you know that if someone spent their entire life looking for a job we all be running around like chicken's without heads? That's how I feel like. :) The FBI interview was just the start of the interviews that I had to be 100% focused on... so yeah. Busy. Don't worry, I have not totall gone MIA. :) I will get those done. --^BuGs^ 02:37, 16 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for mediating[edit]

I and, I'm sure, User:GodzillaWax both appreciate your volunteer efforts on behalf of Wikipedia.

For my part, I'll draft something later today or perhaps tomorrow, depending on how my work deadlines go. Thanks very much — Tenebrae 12:30, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My RfA[edit]

Thank you!
Thank you!
Hi KnowledgeOfSelf/Archive09. On behalf of my right eye, I'd like to thank you for giving me your support on my recent RfA. It ended with a final tally of (73/2/2) and therefore I have been installed as an administrator now, and I'm ready to serve Wikipedians all over the world with my newly acquired mop and bucket. If you have any questions, do not hestitate to forward them to my talkpage. Once again, thanks for your support. SoothingR 20:31, 18 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Karmafist's Canadate Requests[edit]

I have a request of my fellow candidates, and of the voters -- that all candidates give a vote to every other candidate.

It may seem that this request goes against the idea that leadership and potential leadership of our group should be neutral, a precedent that has been followed since the beginning of Esperanza by JCarriker, but I beg to disagree.

For one, mathematically all votes would be cancelled out, but unlike if we stayed silent, we are showing an affirmation of our support for each other.

To me, that's what Esperanza's about. I've had disagreements with many people in Esperanza, but i'll always support them in some form or another as long as I believe as they'll do the same for me -- as long as we're unified in a belief that kindness can cure the ills of Wikipedia as a whole.

Sigh...[edit]

....I'm really sorry about that, I hope that by now it has been resolved? (Been suffering from blackouts overhere so my wikiwork has been limited.) Banez 19:14, 19 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Advice[edit]

Please stop suggesting to delete a valid article with no reason. Wikipedia does not gain volume when people like you suggest that almost every new article should be deleted. Continuing to do this can be seen as vandalism and may get you blocked from editing Wikipedia.--User:137.82.96.26 15:54, 19 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If the article is worth keeping it will be kept. Please do not place false warnings on my talk page :-). KnowledgeOfSelf 23:58, 19 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Gah. Newbies. I need my buttons back, he's gonna 3RR and that should be protected for his own good. Anyway, thanks for trying to put some sense into him. Karmafist 23:58, 19 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
These warnings are hardly false. It would do you good to respect them.--24.83.101.207 00:07, 20 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re : Conflict[edit]

I noticed it too, so I made a compromise of 24 hours, but I'll leave it up to your discretion to have the final say, since I don't really deal with spamlink-related cases often. - Cheers, Mailer Diablo 01:58, 22 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • He has emailed me about it and apologised. I'm going to unblock him on good faith that he is going to add content as he has promised, but you may want to keep track of his edits. - Cheers, Mailer Diablo 16:02, 22 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The POV pusher(s?) is at it again. Given the recent history (deceptive edit summaries, adding dispute tags with no details of what is disputed), do you think a semi-protection is in order? The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ohnoitsjamie (talk • contribs).

Thank you[edit]

Thank you for supporting me in the Esperanza council election and good luck to you.--Dakota ~ ° 06:14, 23 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Help?[edit]

I am buliding a page for the EsperanzaAdvisory Council. I would like your help on it (because you are active in Esperanza) and encourage others to help as well. It is located at:Wikipedia:Esperanza/Advisory Council. ;) --WikieZach| talk 02:22, 24 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

With apologies for the impersonal AWB-ness of the message... Thanks for your support on my recent request for adminship. It passed at 91/1/0, and I hope I can continue to deserve the community's trust. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help you, and if I make a mistake be sure to tell me. My talk page is always open. (ESkog)(Talk) 02:48, 24 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A note from the Admin Coaching coordinator[edit]

Hello, coaches. As you can see, there is a significant backlog at the Esperanza Admin Coaching program. Since we do not want users to have to wait forever to get assigned, I'm asking all of you for a status report. If you feel that you are done, that your coachee is not active enough, or that you could handle the extra load from another coachee, please tell me in my talk page as soon as possible. Thanks! reply[edit]

Does she do her spoken word over a hip hop beat? If so, she's a rapper in the hip-hop sense. If she does it over a jazz backdrop, then shes a beat poet. If she does it a cappella, then shes a spoken word artist. I'm thinking of making some new categories within Category:Hip hop musicians-- Category:Hip hop singers and Category:Def poets (I think she would fit in the latter).

As far as Mos Def, I've been listening to Black on Both Sides. His new stuff I dont like much, but his old stuff is superb. As far as Kweli, I think he's good too, but not as good as Mos Def or even Common.--Urthogie 12:25, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good for the categories. I'm not fond of common's new work either, but at least he's getting some money for all his positive contributions earlier on :). It seems like the earlier positive vibe in hip hop is getting replaced with an insecure one, with guys like Kanye at the forefront; I feel that a lot of the new stuff coming out lacks soul. The guys I really like that are still making music would be J-Live, Will Smith, and Snoop Dogg-- although I really enjoy whats going down in the south lately with Paul Wall et al.--Urthogie 13:58, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Who says I don't like hip-hop with a message; Will Smith has a positive message, and J-Live has a strong message to. Props for favoring Biggie over Pac, same here; I think the thing about them is that Biggie was just a guy telling about his life, and Pac was kind of like a poet with a gangsta mask. As far as Kanye, I don't dislike him because he has a message, but because I think his message is often negative at times, and bordering on "fake social conciousness" at others.--Urthogie 14:26, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The reason I like the new stuff coming from the south is because its the only new sound coming out of hip hop in America(aside from some avante garde electronic stuff on the coasts). It seems like you would like Lauryn Hill and Nas based on the other guys you said you would like (I might be wrong)?--Urthogie 14:35, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've been trying to find Rock that I like, but the vocals always ruin it for me (I've been searching around some Instrumental rock too). The closest things to Rock i've really enjoyed are electronic versions of Rock like the Chemical Brothers and jazz-influenced stuff like Can.--Urthogie 14:46, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've been meaning to check out Diddley. I'll listen to these guys.--Urthogie 15:00, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like you won :-)[edit]

Hi KnowledgeOfSelf, some premature congratulations are in order, I think ;-) Celestianpower put a note on the elections page that the elections are closed now, but the staff will have to validate the votes. We'll see what happens! See you around, JoanneB 14:07, 27 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
