Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Kobenamarron. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Mfantsipim School, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Longhair\talk 08:56, 14 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Yaa Pono, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. How was that an advertisement?

[edit]

If you could pinpoint exactly what was "advertisement" about the Yaa Pono page. It was brief ( barely 200 words) and well cited. For an award-wining musician and that is advertisement? Kobenamarron (talk) 20:08, 2 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Mad Over You

[edit]

Hi Kobenamarron,
Thanks for your contributions to Wikipedia. I reverted the edits you made because the info is not necessary and the source you provided isn't reliable. Feel free to red-add it if you find a better reliable source.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 22:53, 15 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Sarkodie

[edit]

Obidi is an official stage alias. Check through his page. It's referenced. You can't know everything about them. Open up bro. Kobenamarron (talk) 21:36, 28 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I do not claim to know everything bro. I have been listening to Sarkodie's music since he dropped the Rapperholic album. He has said the phrase Obidi Pon Bidi in numerous songs. However, from my understanding of the alias field, only official stage names should be included. I have not heard him released a song under that name. Anyways, if Champagne Papi can be listed in the Drake article, then the names you added can be kept as well.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 23:15, 28 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Yaa Pono for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Yaa Pono is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Yaa Pono until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Bearcat (talk) 13:36, 12 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

First of, thanks for the feedback. The artist is a mainstream public icon bigger than his many Ghanaian likes on Wikipedia. I totally understand if the award(s) and citations stated are irrelevant in which case an edit would be most appropriate. These are basically the only reasons cited for this deletion, which I do not think absolutely disqualify his Wikipedia presence, if citation proof is done appropriately, following your education. Thanks Kobenamarron (talk) 14:02, 12 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Citations changed to something more appropriate following your guide. Please check and let me know. Kobenamarron (talk) 14:16, 12 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

And about the awards, we don't do Grammys in Ghana. Ghana Music Awards is our version. Thank you Kobenamarron (talk) 14:20, 12 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Yaa Pono

[edit]

Hello, Kobenamarron,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username John B123 and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, Yaa Pono, for deletion, because a consensus decision previously decided that it wasn't suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. If you wish to restore a page deleted via a deletion discussion, please use the deletion review process instead, rather than reposting the content of the page.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|John B123}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!
