My edit was correct in stating Paramount Pictures was founded 1916

Regarding my edits to Paramount Pictures Paramount is a company resulting from a 1916 merger between two companies. 1912 is the founding date of one of those companies, Famous Players. But Famous Players only makes up half of Paramount. That's why I edited Paramount Pictures to say it was founded in 1916, not 1912. That is the politically correct founding date. Because 1916 was the date Famous Players and Lasky Feature Play Company merged into Famous Players-Lasky Corporation. 1914 was when Paramount itself began operations as one of the first nationwide film distributors in the country. Paramount's history states all of that on their website. They commemorated their 100th anniversary in 2012 for a reason. It may be politically incorrect to you, but 1912 still counts. hello. I see that you have edited and worked hard on articles dealing with television programming. I have a question, that I hope you can help me out with. Regarding the article "List of programs previously broadcast by American Broadcasting Company". I was trying to remember the name of a program on ABC...shown in New York, some years past, every Saturday at 12 noon. It was a talk show news philosophical type program.

I was wondering why that program (whatever the name was, that I can't recall right now), is not shown or mentioned anywhere in the WP article. It's one of those things that if I SAW the name somewhere, I would recall it. So I don't see it on the article. I was wondering and hoping if you might know what I'm referring to. It was on for YEARS...from what I remember, always on Saturday at 12 noon (at least shown in New York), on ABC...channel 7. I don't remember the name of the program for some reason. It was on in the 1990's, and into past 2000, I believe.

And it doesn't seem to be listed anywhere in the article, as there is no "Saturday afternoon" headings anywhere, or anything that I notice for it under "news and talk show" etc. I'm wondering why it's not there on the article. If I were to see the name of the show written somewhere, or mentioned to me, I would recall it immediately, as being the show. But I can't remember it right now off hand, and I don't see it anywhere on the WP article, for "past ABC programs". Hey there, Gabby. Thanks for your inquiry. The only show that comes to mind would have to be Like It Is. Since it was shown only in New York, the aforementioned program would not qualify under those guidelines. The list is reserved for series produced for the network but not limited to its O&Os. Hi Kresblain. Thanks for your response. I actually found the show, and it was NOT on "ABC". I was mistaken. It was actually a PBS thing. Called "The Open Mind". Believe it or not. I already knew the show "Like It Is". That was at 12 noon but on Sundays. I like that show too. By the way, have you ever heard of "The Open Mind"? It's a long-running program. You familiar with it? Join library staff, the Redondo Beach Historical Society, and others to help improve Wikipedia's coverage of Redondo Beach!

Second, we have a Wik-Ed Women editing session on Tuesday, February 17 from 6pm to 10pm at the Los Angeles Contemporary Archive downtown. This series of informal get-togethers is designed to encourage Los Angeles women-in-the-arts (though all are welcome!) to contribute their expertise to Wikipedia, specifically expanding content about women artists.

Third, we have an Unforgetting LA event put on by East of Borneo in collaboration with the Getty Research Institute. Come help improve Wikipedia's coverage of LA design and architecture, and have an awesome free day at the museum -- parking will be validated for edit-a-thon participants!
