Welcome!
Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:

  • Please respect others' copyrights; do not copy and paste the contents from webpages directly.
  • Please use a neutral point of view when editing articles; this is possibly the most important Wikipedia policy.
  • If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
  • Do not add unreasonable contents into any articles, such as: copyrighted text, advertisement messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Adding such unreasonable information or otherwise editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism, and will result in your account being blocked.

The Wikipedia Tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. License tagging for Image:MVR front.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:MVR front.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 22:07, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

I created an article about V. Ramarathnam and removed the image of Ramarathnam from carnatic vocalist to that article. You can edit the article about V. Ramarathnam. Please avoid more images from carnatic vocalists. other wise it will not show proper page alignment . and try to keep the wikipedia standard. Try to improve the article about him. Contents of article should be uniqe. dont copy from the other articles like news paper , website etc. At any way I can help you. Thanks and regards. Jyothish

This article was a non-notable biography according to the criteria set out in WP:BIO. (aeropagitica) 00:13, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Comment[edit]

"To be published soon" as the only text for an article isn't acceptable. Place holding an article for later isn't how Wikipedia works. RobJ1981 00:15, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

== Image:MusiciansReminescence.jpg listed for deletion ==
Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as Image:MusiciansReminescence.jpg has been listed for speedy deletion because you selected a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission. While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, a non-profit website, this is in fact not the case. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. —Pilotguy push to talk 02:26, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Comment on the AFD log[edit]

Hi, I recently noticed you commented on the AFD log page, however, that page is not the right place for actual discussion of any articles, so you may wish to try putting your comment elsewhere. If you need help, just let me know. FrozenPurpleCube 04:54, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Prof. V. Ramarathnam[edit]

I have made some updates to the article. It needs more work. Please feel free to expand the article. You can use Ravi Shankar as a reference for the sections and formatting. You will need to provide references and stay neutral. I have added an example of how to cite a reference in the first paragraph. Please let me know if you have any questions or need additional help.
