Welcome[edit]

Hello, Squirrels1910, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay.

I'd like to thank you for removing the book that was listed on the John Bigelow Taylor in error. It was very likely me who added that book to the list back when I created this article in 2008. I have however removed the capitalisation you added to the term "works of art" since it is unnecessary—while the titles of works of art should be capitalised, the actual term itself should not. I have also changed the term "Cycladic art" back to the piped link [[Cycladic art|art]] because the sentence "highlighting the Cycladic art and landscape of the Greek Cycladic period" is redundant: The art of that period is by definition Cycladic art. The piped link [[Cycladic art|art]] also allows those who click the link on the word "art" to view the page on Cycladic art.

If you are a newcomer to editing on Wikipedia, you might consider looking at the following links:

I also noted that in the summary of your edit you stated "...removed a book I did not produce", so I would assume that you are either Mr Bigelow Taylor or perhaps Dianne Dubler. While the edits you made were neutral and perfectly justifiable you may also want to take a look at this information about article subjects editing articles on themselves for future reference.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page and I'll try to help you with what I can. You might also consider checking out Wikipedia:Questions or you can also place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

Happy editing! --Marchijespeak/peek 15:53, 15 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

2014[edit]

Hello Kubaba,

Thank-you for correcting my misspellings of Dianne Dubler's name in the article about John Bigelow Taylor. I also wanted to let you know that I have reverted your edit to Taylor's year of birth. While you may very well be privy to his actual year of birth, Wikipedia relies on citations from reliable, secondary sources and the New York Times article cited as a reference for Taylor's age only supplied his age at the time of the publication of the article, and not his actual year of birth. When adding information to Wikipedia it is important that the information be verifiable and that it does not contain original research. This of particular importance when it comes to biographies of living persons. Having said that, should you be able to cite his full date or year of birth from a reliable source as per Wikipedia's policies and guidelines feel free to add that information back to the article. If you would like assistance with the formatting of your citation you can leave me a message on my talk page.

Seasons Greetings and a Happy New Year! --Marchijespeak/peek 03:59, 28 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Several years ago, I discovered that someone had created a Wikipedia entry for me. I was flattered. I would have never even thought of doing it for myself. But there were factual errors in the entry and, since I was able to edit Wikipedia, I corrected the errors not realizing that this was wrong. When the NY Times did a story on me I also added the link to the entry. I honestly did not know this was a problem. Suddenly I was banned from editing and 2 banners went up at the top of the page. I am happy to have the Wikipedia page and I miss not being able to contribute edits to other pages. Kubaba (talk) 13:40, 11 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Accept reason:

New name seems fine, so I've done the rename. Though you were not hiding who you are, it's best not to edit an article about yourself - instead, make a request on its talk page using {{request edit}} and leave it for someone else to do. Anyway, you are now unblocked, welcome back. Feel free to remove the notices from this talk page. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 13:58, 11 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • I've also removed both banners from the article about you, as I don't think you really made "extensive edits" or "major contributions" there, and if you are not going to edit the article directly then I don't think we need them after more than 2 years.
