Speedy deletion nomination of KU Resources, Inc.[edit]

Hello Kuresources,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged KU Resources, Inc. for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, Storkk (talk) 14:40, 6 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, again Kuresources, if you think your company meets Wikipedia's Notability Guidelines for Corporations, could you please provide some reliable, third party sources to back up any assertions of notability? Additionally, your username indicates that you might have some conflicts of interest that, while they don't prohibit you from editing, mean that it's strongly discouraged that you edit your own page. Storkk (talk) 15:06, 6 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from KU Resources, Inc., a page you have created yourself. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Click here to contest this speedy deletion and appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended for publicity and/or promotional purposes. If you intend to edit constructively in other topic areas, you may be granted the right to continue under a change of username. Please read the following carefully.
Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, website or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not, although if you can demonstrate a pattern of future editing in strict accordance with our neutral point of view policy, you may be granted this right. See Wikipedia's FAQ for Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again.

What can I do now?

If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you will probably not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

If you do intend to make useful contributions about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
    • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
    • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

Request reason:

I have no idea why I was blocked. I was talking with Storkk on how I can resolve this issue and bam the page is deleted and I am blocked. This is a learning process and by no means a marketing article. I have actually reviewed other company pages and this page was similar to that. They referenced only their website and the page did not get deleted? How am I suppose to resolve this issue when I can't do anything. Thanks, Kuresources (talk) 16:23, 6 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Procedural decline; a name change is required and the correct template to request a rename is being used below. Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 18:16, 6 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Here are a few key questions:

You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the 3 important principles above. Max Semenik (talk) 16:48, 6 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I know that this is an encyclopedia and not a business directory. I listed facts of the copy (just like facts are in an encyclopedia). I did not write an article on how great the company is like a business directory, I was simply stating the facts of when the firm was estabished, what services it offers. I was talking with Storkk and listed crediable websites supporting this article. These articles would make it "notable". So, I am asking to have this blocked removed.

This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Requested username:

Request reason:

so there is no conflict of interest

Decline reason:

Procedural; username requested already exists. As per the below, find a username that isn't already in use and we'll be happy to unblock. UltraExactZZ Said ~ Did 16:48, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Before we get any further, each article must stand on its own merits; you can't use the existence of an article with a similar subject to justify the presence of yours. Also, a username change does not automatically remove your conflict of interest - you, the person, have it. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 20:03, 6 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

So, how do I go about fixing this issue? You are obviously not going to unblock me as much as I try. If I can't have the page so be it. However, when I do search the company on Google it shows up in the search but when you click it...it says the page is deleted. How can I remove this completely so it no longer shows up in the google search?

If you wish to be unblocked, we will probably require that you avoid editing/creating an article about your company yourself. If the company is notable enough to have an article, someone will write one in time. Is this acceptable to you? If so, what other areas would you be interested in contributing in? As to Google, they'll need to update their search database, which they tend to do once every few days. It should disappear before long. Hersfold non-admin(t/a/c) 18:31, 7 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I will not post anything on the company in the future. I understand how wikipedia works now and will only comment on articles that are unrelated to my business. Thanks Kuresources (talk) 19:53, 7 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Based on the above assurance, I'd be happy to unblock you. However, the new username you have chosen (User:Env) is already taken - please select another username (just leave a message below), and I'll swing by and lift the block. You can check whether a name is already taken by searching this database. Yunshui  13:36, 11 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
