Hi LFaraon, I have removed the wikipedia page references from the edits on end-to-end encryption as you were correct that better references could be added. Thank you for that.

The references now cited, which include a peer-reviewed journal, support my wording that “without end-to-end encryption, user’s information is left unsecured because it remains easily accessible to unauthorized persons.”

While all forms of encryption are theoretically hackable, some are easier than others. This is not my opinion, this is a fact agreed upon by people who specialize in this stuff as indicated in these and other sources. This article explains what I am talking about with relation to encryption key sizes. The wikipedia pages on end-to-end encryption and client-side encryption explain this as well in relation to client-side encryption vs. server-side encryption. When something is encrypted on your computer before it is transmitted to be stored on a server somewhere, it is a fact that its more secure than if it were encrypted by the receiving party. Only you would have the key needed to decrypt it. They can still try to guess your key but that would still take a lot more time than if they didn’t need your key at all.

Thanks for letting me know, kelapstick. I admit I was a bit confused as to what I was being accused of; unless the admin corps grew the ability to get notified about users caught in a hardblock they placed and nobody told me about it ^_^. I do intend to improve the docs on proxy blocks, though, since Template:Blocked proxy eventually leads people to meta:WikiProject_on_open_proxies/Help:blocked, which leads people to an archived page. Finding an online administrator in an emergency
