Minor Deus Ex characters

Hello LOL. It's good to see that somebody else has taken an interest in the MDEC article. I basically researched, sourced and wrote the whole thing myself but gave up a couple of months ago, due to the fact that people who hadn't experienced or come across the information for each character believed I was making it up. They started talking about scrapping the entire article not long ago and that really pissed me off, as I poured a lot of time into fixing that article. I'm just writing to let you know that your efforts may be in vain, as I believe the deletion is still pending, so just be aware. By the way, your user page says your a newbie, so I'd just like you to know that American English is NOT considered the standard at Wikipedia. Wiki is an international site, and the majority of English-speaking countries and cultures, in fact, speak and write in true English. This is the preferred method. Not to say that writing in American English is wrong or unexpected, but altering true English to reflect American English is not considered helpful, regardless of what country a game is created in. After all, American English is exactly what it is, spoken and written in only one English-speaking culture on the planet. Anyway, have a good one. Gamer Junkie 21:16, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

Oh right, by the way, I replied on my user page. Sorry, I forgot that you very likely wouldn't have my user page on your watch list. Gamer Junkie 22:00, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks

Thank you for the vandalism revert on my talk page. Cheers, Opelio 10:50, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi LOL, my Jeremy Kyle edits are 100% factual, why did you delete them? Sorry Ive posted here - unsure how else to reach you! Avid. --81.151.37.152 16:46, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

Your IRC query

"(10:55:59 AM) LOL`: Can someone tell me what was with this IPvandal's listing? http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Administrator_intervention_against_vandalism&diff=prev&oldid=115106831"

I'd say it was declined from AIV because they had only done vandalism once today and haven't been warned today. A stricter admin would have blocked them, but for borderline cases, AIV is a crapshoot. I give them a fresh L4 warning and if they keep it up, feel free to re-report them.—dgiestc 18:05, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Blocking?

I saw that you warned the IP address 209.66.192.164 for vandalism when I reverted the page Isotretinoin after it was vandalized from that address.

Just out of curiosity, who has the authority to block IP addresses and/or warn users? Also, that IP address has been warned many times, why doesn't Wikipedia just block it permanently?

Critical Info (talkcontribs) 22:26, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

WP:BLOCK is the blocking policy. Administrators/sysops have the authority to block IP addresses, but anybody can warn a user as long as the user has made obviously disruptive edits. Within the large template at the top of 209.66.192.164’s talk page, the note reads “In the event of persistent vandalism, anonymous editing from this IP address may be disabled for up to 6 months at a time….” I hope that’s clear enough. If a user has recently received a last warning but continues to vandalize, you can notify the admins at WP:AIV. —LOL 22:45, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

You userpage

You are welcome. I have noted your page even before and even that moment I thought, I should add that to this guys page even . But with the time passing, I forgot that and today vandal refreshed my memory. Ah one thing more........add Thankyou to that vandal's talkpage. --♪♫ ĽąĦĩŘǔ ♫♪ walkie-talkie 22:16, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

List of Wii games

Hey there LOL,

I've noted that you've contributed before to the List of Wii games. Just wanted to let you know that the list is getting ready for Featured status and is currently undergoing a Peer Review. If you can take a moment to look over the article and add your suggestions/comments for improvement here, it'd be much appreciated. Thanks! -Digiwrld1 21:57, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

3RR on my talk

Didn't understand what that anon editor was up to either; thanks for expressing your view on the Li Tie talk page. Chensiyuan 23:28, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

No problem. I’ll be keeping Li Tie on my watchlist in case the anon has more to say. —LOL 23:31, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
Thanks then. By the way, since you've done some work on basketball articles, if it interests you, the Toronto Raptors article is undergoing a FAC nomination now, and we're looking for all manner of feedback. However, it's perfectly okay if it doesn't interest you -- takes quite long to read even for me. Chensiyuan 00:03, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for informing me of the FAC nom. 56 kb is pretty long, so I’ll probably just keep gnoming and listening to any feedback. —LOL 00:18, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for your help with touching up the article. Much appreciated! Chensiyuan 00:58, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
No problem. Just trying to chip in ;) . I need to remember that the article doesn’t use templates yet, heh heh. —LOL 01:01, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

Many thanks for hunting down that Raptors-Pistons game recap!! Chensiyuan 01:24, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
You mean Sixers? It was on Vince Carter’s article, so I had no problem finding it. :) —LOL 01:31, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for making a report on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, administrators are generally only able to block users if they have received a recent final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized after that warning was given. The reported user has not yet been blocked because it appears this has not occurred yet. If this user continues to vandalize even after their final warning, please report them to the AIV noticeboard again. Thank you. coelacan — 23:37, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

Hrm, I swore I used . There must’ve been a database lock. —LOL 23:39, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
You made a couple of reports recently, right? I'm thinking of 76.25.33.5 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log), and they stopped vandalizing immediately after your warning. If someone vandalizes just once within the next minute or two after a warning, they probably hadn't gotten the orange bar yet. Better to wait until they do it twice. coelacan — 00:01, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
Alright, thanks for your advice. It looks like I was too quick to report this time. I think I’ve reported over 50 users all-time, and this is the first time I picked up uw-aiv. —LOL 01:11, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
Think nothing of it. I'm just exceptionally picky as admins go. =/ coelacan — 02:36, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

Hope you don't mind I moved your comment down a little so they were chronological I got confised reading it for a second. I also responded. Welcome ot the project btw. Quadzilla99 04:14, 28 April 2007 (UTC)

Oh, I don’t mind it at all. I apologize if it was my mistake. —LOL 05:45, 28 April 2007 (UTC)

A Barnstar!
The Original Barnstar

I just wish to take this opportunity to extend my appreciation to another member of the NBA project, for, amongst others, removing vandalism, updating tables and improving the articles. Although. You may find my constant refusal to use templates (for citations) annoying. lol Chensiyuan 09:21, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
Thanks, I appreciate your act of kindness. I’ll try to keep those season-by-season records accurate for the remainder of the NBA Playoffs. :)
Maybe I won’t need to be doing any of those corrections in the regular season if my template gets implemented in spite of the fact that you’re the only editor who’s replied, hehe. I’ll come up with a solution for the playoff totals of next year if the regular season template goes well. What annoys me more than the “ref types” are the anons who can’t properly update the tables. :P I’m actually not too bothered by the ref types anyway, because thankfully we don’t seem to be having any conflicts. Take care. —LOL 11:44, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

Oops

I typoed my edit summary to Jennifer Granholm to read, "rvv by LOL" rather than "rvv to LOL". Didn't mean to accuse you of anything. :) --TreyHarris 13:31, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

Alright, thanks for letting me know. (I might’ve been able to see what you actually meant by checking the difference between the two revisions anyway.) :) —LOL 21:34, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

Are you sure this is a userpage?

Hi, LOL, just asking. This looks more like a Wikipedia stub than it does a userpage. Are you sure this is a userpage? O.K, just telling you! Technical Wiz 01:44, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

Yeah. I haven’t felt like making a real userpage since I copied the Wikipedia article LOL (Internet slang) a long time ago. Another user suggested putting Userpage to avoid confusion, so I did. —LOL 01:49, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

Hi, a couple of us have been working on the Tim Duncan article, so feel free to leave comments at the Tim Duncan FAC here. Thanks! Chensiyuan 13:27, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

I am also not vandalising

I did not vandalise the Lloyd's list page, I have I am surprised to get this message as before your message, I haven't even visited it. I only "vandalised " my first and so-far only page last week. I reclassified Sheffield Hallam University as a degree mill as in my unreferenced opinion it lowers the percieved value of a degree from the actual University of Sheffield. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by PheonixUK (talkcontribs) 08:27, August 22, 2007 (UTC).

Adminship?

Note: I won't create the page until you tell me you're ready to accept the nomination. :-) — talk 02:25, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your consideration to nominate me. Before we give it a shot, do you really think I can pass with my lack of discussions, Wikipedia edits (particularly XfD and RfX participation), and few additions of content? How’s my userpage? I’m unfamiliar with RfAs, and I’m not sure how large of a difference these matters will make. —LOL 13:03, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

You're an avid vandal fighter and seem to have made extensive additions to List of enemies in Doom 3. Of course, I do think that getting a bit more active in RfXs and XfDs would be desirable for an adminship candidate. Apart from that, I'll nom you as soon as you feel comfortable accepting it. :-) — talk 13:47, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
I’m going to take some time to read more about adminship, review some RfAs, and maybe get more involved with Wikipedia first. Do you mind waiting a while? Thanks again. —LOL 20:10, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
I don't mind at all.  talk 20:30, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Thanks

for this. Are you somehow specially dealing with that vandal? Bradipus 09:55, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

De rien. I’m not trying to deal with that vandal in any way; I was curious at first about what they were trying to do by pasting the logs of another user and some grudge of another language. When I saw that they pasted the same material soon after being reverted, I decided to pop in the warnings like a typical vandal. —LOL 11:34, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

Smile:)

Thanks

Hi =) Just wanted to thank you for keeping an eye on my userpage and reverting all that vandalism. He evidently wasn't happy about me nominating his article for speedy deletion despite being directed to WP:NOTE to explain the problem and help fix it up. So thanks once again! Random question

Hi there, been a while. So which NBA team do you root for?? Chensiyuan 04:00, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

Hey Chen, good to chat with you again. Since I live in Toronto, the Raptors are my favoured team. Besides them, I’d like Steve Nash to get a ring. :)
Do you get to watch Raptors games live, and is there any team besides the Raptors you like? —LOL 04:06, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
The Raps eh... truth be told, before I spent a year in Toronto I knew nothing about the Raps. What a heartbreaking loss to the Jazz, but I suppose it's early days yet. Sadly I don't get to watch Raptors' games live in Singapore, save when it's playoff season. The other team I support? Big old boring Spurs! Lol. Chensiyuan 04:22, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, I was watching the 4th quarter. The Raps got really close, but Boozer put in the last field goal to make it a two-possession game with under 30 seconds remaining. T.J. followed with a three-pointer, but his last play of the game was a bizarre one that didn’t earn any points…bummer. Have you tried to pick up a broadcast over the Internet? Maybe this weekend I can try to find one, and if I succeed I’ll get back to you. —LOL 04:59, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
Nope I haven't come across any solutions to catch a game! Yup do let me know if you know of anything, thanks. Chensiyuan 05:33, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
