If you have a message for me, please add it here. I don't check Wikipedia constantly but I do check periodically so I will try to respond in a reasonably timely fashion.

Welcome!

Hello, LWV Roadrunner, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!  -MrFizyx 04:08, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm surprised nobody has given you that generic welcome note already. I just noticed that you made some contributions at the League of Women Voters article a while ago. We are having a bit of a discussion over there, feel free to stop by and put in your 2 cents worth. Regards -MrFizyx 04:08, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yer welcome for the welcome

[edit]

I guess the fact that I've come back to your page is some answer. Preferences vary, but a lot of people seem to prefer that you respond on their talk page, but if its going to be a back and forth discussion it might be nice to have it all on one page. For someone to know that you've answered them on your own page, (a) they have to have you on their watch list, and (b) they have to look at the watch list. If you answer on their page, they get that nice orange bar. Glad you're on board. I don't even know that much about the LWV, but the article seemed so off balance that I thought it was worth pressing a bit. Hopefully we'll see some benefit. Best wishes, -MrFizyx 21:20, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

About Acton, Massachusetts

[edit]

My mistake, I didn't mean to delete those sections on Libraries, Schools, etc. I think what happened was I copied and pasted the demographic info in a chart form into the edit box so I wouldn't have to keep flipping between webpages, with the intention of deleting the chart once I put it into paragraph form. I must have highlighted past the chart and deleted the other sections as well. I've re-edited the page to include those sections. Thanks for noticing. -eink21

Response to your question

[edit]

I have responded to your question (User talk:Centrx#Question about change to Acton, MA page) regarding notable persons in town articles on Talk:Acton, Massachusetts. Note that your example of notable persons in the article Concord, Massachusetts is, for most of the listed persons there, not analogous to the persons in the Acton article: Thoreau, Emerson, and the Alcotts were an important and historically relevant part of the culture of Concord in the nineteenth century; they lived and engaged in famous acts there. They are more appropriate for an encyclopedia article about the town than is Isaac Davis, let alone Robert Creeley, let alone David Wolff, let alone Caroll Spinney (in descending order of relevance). The others in the Concord article should probably be removed; there is not even a mention of the town in the articles about the persons. - Centrx 21:01, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

You can discuss inclusion on the talk pages on the category Category_talk:Wikipedia_CD_Selection. However, the process once an article is on the CD category is not automatic inclusion. The article will go into an editorial funnel when the next run happens and may have sections or the whole thing deleted if at that moment in time quality is not high enough. The editorial funnel is only allowed to delete not otherwise alter though (like to volunteer?). Recycling I think should stay in for now as the topic is important enough and central to schools curriculum. The next run isn't til Sept so someone may have sorted it by then --BozMo talk 18:36, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Acton, Massachusetts

[edit]

The Acton, Massachusetts page looks very good. Because I'm rather busy I only had the chance to glance it over at this time, but when I have a moment I'll look into it a little deeper so as to offer some of my insights. Very good job, though. -eink21

Thanks for the invite to look over the Acton article, though my response is very late. I just added a link and an explanatory sentence about the Land Stewardship Committee conservation land descriptions and maps. -Jimsg 23:42, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm member of the french wikipedia community and we are on going to translate waste management article. In this article you've add this : [1]. We have some difficulties to understand the link with the fist sentence and the PAYT politic. May you help us to understand it by concrete example ? Adrianne Wadewitz Memorial edit-a-thons

[edit]
Adrianne Wadewitz edit-a-thons in Southern New England

As you may have already heard, the Wikipedia community lost an invaluable member of the community last month. Adrianne Wadewitz was a feminist scholar of 18th-Century British literature, and a prolific editor of the site. As part of a worldwide series of tributes, New England Wikimedians, in conjunction with local institutions of higher learning, have created three edit-a-thons that will be occurring in May and June. The events are as follows:

We hope that you will be able to join us, whether you are an experienced editor or are using Wikipedia for the first time.

If you have any questions, please leave a message at Kevin Rutherford's talk page. You can unsubscribe from future notifications for Boston-area events by removing your name from this list.
