RT Rana

[edit]

Have been reviewing the article onRT Rana and have to raise whether the subject is actually notable. He was a Radio jokey and public Health field officer in the anti malaria campaign arilanka -neither of which are particularly notable.I thought that I'd give you the opportunity to look at editing the article to clearly establish the subject's Nomination of RT Rana for deletion.Dan arndt(talk) 00:10, 19 April 2016 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by RT Rana (talk • contribs) If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by RT Rana and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Matara Archeological sites

[edit]

Have a whole lot of images from my trips to Matara, which I will upload shortly. I'm surprised that the Dutch Reformed Church, Matara isn't included on your list - unfortunately my Sinhalese is almost non-existent so have a hard time deciphering your reference. Dan arndt (talk) 03:55, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Dan arndt, Is is very happy to hear voice from you. Still i couldn't complete the list and i will complete it as i can. Also i will try yo give more references in English. Thanks dear.--L Manju (talk) 05:02, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Found a reference to a 'Wijetunga Walawwa' a 150yr old Dutch mansion at 48 Dharmarama Rd - is that on the list?
Have you thought of including the co-ordinates (where known) of the various listed places - makes it easier to identify. Dan arndt (talk) 06:09, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yes addition of co-ordinates may good for article. If you have idea pls do it. I couldn't find about the Wijetunga Walawwa in the simple list (Sinhala) given by the Archaeological department (The list is limited to 2013). But that Walawwa may in next Gazettes. Have to find it...--L Manju (talk) 06:23, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Dan arndt, Pls check this line in the artical (About 10th line)--The Archaic Walawwa-Matara Fort-Matara-24 July 2009-At Siri Dhammarama Road--- This walawwa may Wijetunga wallwwa. but i am not sure.--L Manju (talk) 06:46, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Need to look at refining the actual address and description of each of the listings. Am currently checking through, with a view to adding a column providing the co-ordinates for each. If we get it right you can then use the table as a template for the other lists you've developed. Dan arndt (talk) 07:50, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Images

[edit]

Am just starting to upload a lot of images of various places around Sri Lanka. Once done I'll start to add them to various articles. Dan arndt (talk) 08:18, 4 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Might have to spend more time on Commons, as there is a lot of uncategorised Sri Lankan images. Hopefully this might clear some of the requests on this list. Dan arndt (talk) 08:18, 9 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation from Wikipedia Asian Month 2016

[edit]

Thanks for partipating Wikipedia Asian Month last year, and I hope you enjoy it. Last year, more than 7,000 articles contribute to Wikipedia in 43 languages in Wikipedia Asian Month, making us one of the largest event on Wikipedia. We will organize this event again in upcoming November, and would like to invite you join us again.

This year, we are lowering down the standards that you only need to create 4 (Four) articles to receive a postcard (new design), and articles only need to be more than 3,000 bytes and 300 words. We are also improving our postcard sending process, e.g. making the postcards right now, and collecting the address after the event ends without waiting other languges.

Wikipedians who create the most articles on each Wikipedia will be honored as "Wikipedia Asian Ambassadors". We will send you both digital copy, and a paper copy of the Ambassador certificate.

Thank you for considering! --AddisWang (talk)
