Please remove Template:User AECian from your list. Your case for replacement has been overturned-Deepraj | Talk 23:29, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ridiculous.[edit]

It is ridiculous to claim you can replace the individualized (and in some cases carefully so) user boxes with some boring 'universal' box. User boxes are - by their very nature - quirky and interesting. In the case of the school I went to (Chatham House Grammar School), ex-pupils are known as "Old-Ruymians" - so the template for Chatham House alumni says "This user is an Old-Ruymian" - and not "This user is an almumni of Chatham House". There is absolutely no need to do this - and I object strongly to any effort to do so.

I have no objection whatever to you providing an ADDITIONAL template for schools that don't have individualize templates of their own. Just don't replace the good and the interesting with the bland and annoying.

Please be sure to inform me if this goes to any kind of consensus debate - but in the meantime, be aware that YOU DO NOT HAVE CONSENSUS TO DO THIS because at least one experienced Wikipedian (me!) will not take this without serious debate. Remember - it takes a new consensus to change the status quo...which right now is to allow (and even to encourage) individual templates.
