Welcome[edit]

Hello! Welcome to Wikipedia! I'm sorry to report that I reverted your edits to Gram staining. This is a bit of a confusing issue, but basically there have been several discussions on whether "Gram-positive" or "gram-positive" is more appropriate (the most recent iterations of this being here at Gram-positive bacteria's talk page, this discussion and the one just beneath it at Gram-negative bacteria's talk page, both of which led to the drafting of this note at the Gram staining page you edited). A variety of groups recommend the lowercase version (e.g. the the U.S. CDC). But you'll see the uppercase version in a number of papers as well. Basically it's a style choice (like colour vs. color). There is no correct way. So changing it in articles to suit your preference is against the norms here.

That said, I'm glad to see a new user interested in microbiology! Welcome welcome! There's so much to be done here! Feel free to post at WikiProject Microbiology with any questions you might have about editing micro articles, or feel free to leave me a message here or at my talk page! Happy editing!
