"A ethnic"

I've found a few instances where "a ethnic" appears in articles and I have begun changing these words to "an ethnic". I'm unaware of the word ethnic not taking the indefinite article an instead of a in special uses, but if this is the case please revert my edits. LewPot 20:35, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

Indefinite articles

Having changed "a ethnic" to "an ethnic" in quite a number of articles, I am now moving on to other words and names beginning with vowels, starting with "a English". If I come across such a formation within a proper name (film title, song title etc.) I won't change it, though I may add to the article's discussion page. Again, if I am being clumsy or heavy-handed with these edits, please revert them. LewPot 21:10, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

Regarding the formation "a English", it appears that the word British has been replaced by the word English to make content more specific. I'll concentrate on "a English" for the time being, as I'm not likely to find "an Welsh" or "an Scottish" anywhere, though I imagine "a Irish" is around somewhere. LewPot 23:13, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

Template:England-novelist-stub

When I've come across the indefinite article a followed by a word that starts with a vowel, I've changed a to an. I've made changes within encyclopaedic articles but left other pages alone. If nobody objects, I'd like to make a similar change to the template Template:England-novelist-stub. LewPot 22:51, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

Please read WP:BOLD. You do not need to contact other Users about trivial grammatical or spelling errors. Of course you can correct them if you like. -- Mais oui! 00:00, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

I just wanted to let you know that the current image of me as a young boy is the correct one. By accident you reverted to the vandlised version. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 12:04, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

Sorry about what happened there! I had seen (del) before and I wasn't sure what it did. When I decided to press it, I happened to be on your image page at the time. I thought nothing had happened, as I saw a message saying only administrators could do that action. I had no idea I had caused that damage; apologies to yourself and anyone who looked at your user page before you put it right. Lewis Potter talk · contribs 20:29, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
No problem. In fact it worked to the good. I deleted all the revisions and then re-uploaded the file. That way the attack image is gone and no one can use it. I wouldn't have thought about it unless the image had be reverted. Thanks. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 00:29, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
