Previous account

[edit]

Hi, out of curiosity, did you have a previous account? TonyBallioni (talk) 01:47, 25 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@TonyBallioni: Hey there :-) No. Why do you ask? Landonrules (talk) 01:56, 25 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Well, this was your first edit, adding a complete citation with an edit summary, you have 100% edit summary usage (looks to be intentional as some of them are merely periods, which means you already know to do this, or you've enabled the feature that make you use an edit summary), you've started vandal fighting and using warning templates by hand because you can't use Twinkle yet, you are filing reports at AIV, and have created a userpage with very specific userboxes that suggest previous experience on Wikipedia. You also know how to use the ping template. Kinda odd for someone who is not even autoconfirmed yet. If you have a legitimate reason for having another account, that is fine (this is not my first account, I said as much at my RfA), but it is typically best to let the Arbitration Committee know, because the actions of an obviously experienced user are going to attract attention (such as this). TonyBallioni (talk) 02:06, 25 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@TonyBallioni: Thanks for the compliments (I think?) I can assure you I am entirely new to this whole thing. I am actually googling how to do things as I go. I found the boxes on other users pages and thought they would be cool to add to mine. And yes the periods for the 100% edit summary aren't so much intentional, it's just that I don't exactly know what I'm supposed to say sometimes. The air rage thing was one of the first "suggested edits" that Wikipedia gave me when I created the account. As I am in the aviation industry, I knew right where to go. I don't even know what Twinkle is? I absolutely hate vandalism to pages and after googling (at length) how to combat them, I have thus started doing so. Are there things I'm doing wrong in combating vandals? Landonrules (talk) 02:14, 25 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@TonyBallioni: Also, I have a lot of questions on how to do things I can't figure out even after reading a ton. I can't really tell if you're friend or foe, but I would appreciate your help on a few things if possible. Landonrules (talk) 02:38, 25 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Sure. Ask away. TonyBallioni (talk) 02:41, 25 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@TonyBallioni: Great. Be patient with me here. Some of these are going to seem stupid to someone with experience I'm sure. 1) How do some users get their signatures to be different colors/shapes/fonts/styles? 2) If someone vandalizes a page twice (like publishes it back to back) how do you undo both (or more) edits back to the original non-vandalized page? Landonrules (talk) 02:51, 25 February 2018 (UTC) @TonyBallioni: It just occurred to me that if it's a lot to explain/type out (I'm sure you're busy with other things), just a nudge to a correct "How To" page or guide would be most appreciated. Landonrules (talk) 03:30, 25 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A bowl of strawberries for you!
