Re: Netball team

[edit]

Quite welcome, let me know if you have trouble in the future. I'll work on some documentation for your template now - while I was fixing it, I tweaked a few of your parameters around to make them work better. Hersfold (t/a/c) 19:07, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just made the templates

but on Black Sticks Men the colours on the shorts don't work.

Thanks heaps Matt 13:12, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've tracked down the error (or at least, can point you in the right direction. On Template:Male field hockey kit the text referred to "skirt" (had you copied the template over from the ladies?) - I've changed this to shorts (the diff should show you my alteration), and hey presto... No problem - we're all human...you don't want to know how many times I've had to spend hours debugging code to get rid of a stray full-stop...at least yours was easy to spot! Giles Bennett (Talk, Contribs) 21:51, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Netball World Championships series

[edit]

Hi, firstly, thanks for all your invaluable work on Netball, an underrepresented sport on Wikipedia. You will no doubt notice that I have put merge tags on two of the sub-articles you created yesterday. The lead article Netball World Championships is not much more than a stub, and I think that the small amount of additional information on History_of_the_Netball_World_Championship and Netball World Championship hosts would be better used to expand the main article.

Of the yet to be created articles, Qualification and Records and statistics both sound fine as additional articles. Team appearances does too, as it would represent a cross-tabulation from the individual tournament articles.

Trophy should probably be a section in the main article, and I have absolutely no idea what you envisage with The Final.

Lastly, if you are writing articles on individual New Zealand Netballers, please link to them from the births section of the relevant "Year in new Zealand" article (e.g. 1974 in New Zealand#Births) dramatic 23:03, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect of COSANA tournament

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on COSANA tournament, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because COSANA tournament is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting COSANA tournament, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:BlackSticks.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:BlackSticks.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 19:55, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of The Pulse (netball)

[edit]

A tag has been placed on The Pulse (netball) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. {{helpme}} I was trying to edit the netball kit template (Template:Netball kit Template:Netball team) but it has all gone bung. Matt 22:49, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, the template is definitely not working as intended. Lanma, I notice you're the creator and main editor of the template, the template in its current form is resulting in display issues, but I'm unable to find the coding issues after a quick glance. You can see basic information in Help:Infobox, and Wikipedia:Manual of Style (infoboxes), but you may wish to ask someone who has done many of these to help you. You could request assistance at Village pump. ArielGold 01:49, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Chants R&B

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Chants R&B, because another editor is suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of the page. -- Swerdnaneb 07:15, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries

[edit]

Thanks for contributing to the netball articles - I've been watching the netball article itself for a few months and I've noticed how often it is vandalised. However, Please leave an edit summary when reverting a page, preferably noting the username of the edit you reverted. For example, in this edit, your edit summary could have been "revert to last version by Graham87" or, in a shorter form, "rv to last by Graham87". This makes things much easier in case something goes amiss when reverting, which does happen occasionally. I try to put edit summaries on all edits because I think it makes it easier to read the page history. Graham87 07:57, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Jodi Te Huna

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Jodi Te Huna requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

Skomorokh incite 00:13, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, putting a hangon doesn't do anything. You got to say why not on the talk page. -Goodshoped 00:28, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Jodi Te Huna

[edit]

Jodi Te Huna, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Jodi Te Huna satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jodi Te Huna and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Jodi Te Huna during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. -Goodshoped 00:30, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, you need to find those refs and put them on the article, then I will close it. Feel free to voice your opinion. -Goodshoped 00:33, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Netball kit blank.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 09:12, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Netball skirts

[edit]

{{helpme}} I am looking for an expert in templates.

I am trying to enable skirt patterns in Template:Netball kit, but have not been able to do so. As an example see Botswana national netball team (from markup) "| pattern_la1 = | pattern_b1 =_white_stars | pattern_ra1 = | pattern_sk1 =_white_stars | leftarm1 =99CCFF | body1 = 99CCFF | rightarm1 =99CCFF | shorts1 = 99CCFF"

I will be because I have adapted all the netball templates from football and rugby ones, thus have messed something up along the way.

Thanks Matt (talk) 20:23, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Lanma, I've noticed that nobody has been able to assist you for hours now, so I'm going to remove the helpme, and direct you to Village Pump Technical form, where others may be more likely to be able to work with you to fix the template. I hope that helps! ArielGold 23:00, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Adelaide Thunderbirds.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Adelaide Thunderbirds.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 21:53, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
