Hi

[edit]

and welcome to Wikipedia. I'm curious about the link you've added http://ultimatecalculators.com/income_property.html/ in one or two places. Is it supposed to just come up as a tree structure or is it supposed to be a rather less MS-DOS looking website? As it came up for me, it looked rather unfriendly. I'm using Firefox 3.5.15 with AdBlock Plus and popups off. I don't actually need to use the calculator myself, as I am sole owner of my property and unlikely to be investing in property. To be honest, I was checking you weren't adding something spammy - this is one of my main areas of work on Wikipedia, so please do not feel offended. He appears to have accidently placed a "\" at the end of each URL. As there is advertising on each page, and he has a serious COI, I have removed all links. Kuru (talk) 19:57, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Peridon, some friends from my university and I have just launched a website dedicated to creating the best financial caluclators on the internet. We are MBA students, and while trying to find financial calculators to provide us with sufficient information to understand the financial concepts my class mates were learning(I already was very familiar, having already had a career as a financial professional). So I started developing these for my classmates, and we decided to put it up on the internet for everybody. We really focused on creating useful content, each calculator is dedicated to providing rich understanding of the principle it deals with. Our personal finance models are designed to help users understand the effect of their actions, and that financial products behave according to many factors, some which can be controlled, and some which cannot. This is important, because everybody needs good information to make good decisions, and we felt that this was not available. On the academic side, we created many calculators to help students learn the financial conepts of time value of money, valuation, capital budgeting, financial statement analysis, etc... We made sure that each calculator would help students learn while they use them, by having the formula next to each calculator, defined variables, isolated variables, and definitions. Thanks for your interest. Now that we have launched, we are trying to help those looking for this information (many) find what they are looking for (rare). Cheers

Please immediately cease promoting your website here. Your recent burst of activity appears to consist promotion of you site, link hijacking, and some outright spam (mainly here). I have left you a response on my talk page, but you seem to now be intent on adding your links to every single financial article you can find, even ones that in some cases are totally unrelated. Please read our policy on conflicts of interest, and consider this a final warning for adding external links. Thanks. Kuru (talk) 20:03, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
