Welcome![edit]

Hello, Larrayal, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your recent edits did not conform to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and may have been removed. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations verified in reliable, reputable print or online sources or in other reliable media. Always provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles.

If you are stuck and looking for help, please see the guide for citing sources or come to The Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. FYI[edit]

Please do not accuse editors of being linked to pro-Taliban groups unless you have credible evidence to back-up your claim. This is a very serious accusation and will likely be interpreted as a personal attack (a very serious violation of policy). To be clear, you're not in any trouble but please be a bit more cautious in the future when making claims about the motives of other editors. Disambiguation link notification for January 23[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Tolypeutinae, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ameghino. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 05:58, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your GA nomination of Stegotherium[edit]

The article Stegotherium you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass; otherwise it may fail. See Talk:Stegotherium for issues which need to be addressed. David Firth[edit]

Perhaps it's not the best idea to get involved with the David Firth situation? His page's removal is clearly unjust, even according to Wikipedia's policies. Trying to keep it from being added back just makes you look biased. Given your track record, that may be something to keep in mind. Jackstercrack (talk) 03:05, 1 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

For future information, as this is in my talk page and is now a personnal issue, thanks to you : I just notified the author of the deletion on their talk page, to make sure they knew about the tweets, and that they may ensure a protection to avoid too much disruption until things cool down. This is most probably part of a raid caused by the hybris rant of an Internet microcelebrity about the deletion of their bad-referenced Wikipedia page. I didn't participated in this deletion, and I don't want to judge it posteriorly, however the bad referencing argument was indeed justified.
For the track records, I don't know if you're talking about the Taliban issue that was caused by an intense mass fear mongering on actuality article about the presence of Taliban sympathizers on Panjshir-related articles, an incident which happened only once, or if I must take this seriously as a doxxing menace, but I won't be intimidated by that kind of behaviour.
Also, participating in a raid with what most probably is a burner account and trying to intimidate somebody for literally doing something to prevent disruptions seems incredibly more biased than anything else. Now, I'm done with this situation, I don't care enough about this random guy to suffer headaches from any dealing with his stans, so here forward any David Firth stans trying to mess with my talk page will be reported as raiders. Dinotoxodon moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Dinotoxodon, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Speedy deletion nomination of Rhyphodon[edit]

Hello, Larrayal,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Meatsgains, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged Rhyphodon for deletion, because it doesn't appear to contain any encyclopedic content. You may find our guide for writing quality articles to be extremely informative. Also, you may want to consider working on future articles in draft space first, where they cannot be deleted for lacking content.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Meatsgains}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Machine translations[edit]

Hi, please do not dump raw machine translations on Wikipedia as this is against site policy per WP:MACHINETRANSLATION. You must manually clean up the translation to make sure it makes grammatical sense in English. Hemiauchenia (talk) 03:13, 19 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I usually spend time cleaning up those translations, but if you notice any errors, notify me - english is not my first language, and while I can read italian, dutch is a language I'm not very familiar with. Larrayal (talk) 03:17, 19 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Hemiauchenia : If that can reassure you, I'll probably stop uploading translations as long as the heatwave is not gone - extreme temperatures are visibly limiting my abilities to correct anything efficiently. I'll probably start a correction tour when the temperatures will be a little milder. The header you corrected, for instance, was entirely made by hand...
Larrayal (talk) 04:00, 19 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Dinotoxodon[edit]

Hello, Larrayal. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Dinotoxodon".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. If you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Autopatrolled granted[edit]

Hi Larrayal, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled user right to your account. This means that pages you create will automatically be marked as 'reviewed', and no longer appear in the new pages feed. Autopatrolled is assigned to prolific creators of articles, where those articles do not require further review, and may have been requested on your behalf by someone else. It doesn't affect how you edit; it is used only to manage the workload of new page patrollers.

Since the articles you create will no longer be systematically reviewed by other editors, it is important that you maintain the high standard you have achieved so far in all your future creations. Please also try to remember to add relevant WikiProject templates, stub tags, categories, and incoming links to them, if you aren't already in the habit; user scripts such as Rater and StubSorter can help with this. As you have already shown that you have a strong grasp of Wikipedia's core content policies, you might also consider volunteering to become a new page patroller yourself, helping to uphold the project's standards and encourage other good faith article writers.

Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! – Joe (talk) 10:54, 19 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Klallamornis[edit]

On 30 June 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Klallamornis, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the flightless suliforme Klallamornis likely went extinct when the volcanic islands it used for shelter along the coast of the Pacific Northwest eroded away into the Pacific Ocean? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Klallamornis. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Klallamornis), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Disambiguation links on Template:Passeroidea[edit]

Thanks for your edits to Template:Passeroidea, however several of the links went to disambiguation pages. I have fixed some of these but it would be great if, with future edits, you could ensure that they are linking to the intended articles. A trick to help with this is to go to your "Preferences" - accessible from the drop down menu top right, then the gadgets tab & scroll down to "appearance" and put a tick next to "Display links to disambiguation pages in orange". This should help you spot when you are linking to a dab page.— Rod talk 18:12, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Cynchramus[edit]

Looks like there are/were two such genera. Cynchramus Boie, 1826 is listed in Passeres per IRMNG, while Cynchramus Bonaparte, 1828 is lised by the same in Meleagridae. CoL shows several taxa that are probably connected to Boie as synonyms for Emberiza taxa. [GBIF] says they are both doubtful. All that to say... you were correct to remove it, but also that it's the Boie taxon that is associated with Emberiza, not the Bonaparte one. - UtherSRG (talk) 13:19, 14 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
