Blanking

[edit]

Please see WP:BLANKING. Blanking a message is also considered acknowledgement of its reception and there is no point in posting again a message someone already read. Thank you, —PaleoNeonate05:32, 23 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Lies

[edit]

I learned last night that lies are acceptable on Wikipedia so long as they can be verified. Lars Frierson (talk) 01:04, 24 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I also learned that Wikipedia does not consider itself a reliable source of information. Lars Frierson (talk) 08:02, 28 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, it is user generated (WP:USERGEN) and not edited and published independently (hence also self-published, WP:SPS). In relation to lies, I can't comment without more context, but if the source is reliable the conclusions are less likely to be lies. —PaleoNeonate23:32, 28 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Adding useful resources in relation to reliable sources: WP:RS, WP:IRS, WP:RS/P, WP:RSN and I personally like independent assessments like https://adfontesmedia.com to have a good idea where common US news sources stand... —PaleoNeonate02:11, 29 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I understand that verifiability is a core tenant of editing this encyclopedia. I also appreciate that Wikipedia cannot be cited as an independent source for an article hosted by the project. Lars Frierson (talk) 06:14, 2 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

POINTy revert

[edit]

Please do not revert me. That comment is pointy and you reverting back to it is highly inappropriate. El_C 06:07, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you revert me again, you may be blocked for disruption. El_C 06:08, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

One conversation in one place, please. El_C 06:12, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

OK. Are you here to build an encyclopedia, or are you here to push an agenda? I have done as you suggested and brought the issue to User:Grayfell's attention. In fact, I did that before you even got involved. Have you done the requisite research and learned what this is about? I cited a reliable source - the Encyclopedia of White Power: A Sourcebook on the Radical Racist Right by Jerry Kaplan in the Ben Klassen article and faithfully reproduced what the source stated. User:Grayfell reverted, saying that the book is not a reliable source. I find this fascinating, since the book is cited in several articles on Wikipedia concerning its topic. I cited a secondary source for why addition. What did I do wrong? Lars Frierson (talk) 06:19, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Your aspersions are unwelcome and constitute an attack. Please stop. And please don't revert that POINTy edit again, or you may be sanctioned. I have no idea what you are talking about otherwise. El_C 06:23, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Did you even review the recent history of the Ben Klassen article?— Preceding unsigned comment added by Lars Frierson (talkcontribs)
No, I did not even know it existed El_C 06:27, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Are you 47.137.189.77? El_C 06:28, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I am Lars Frierson, and you are avoiding the question. Lars Frierson (talk) 06:33, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Alright. I have linked to it several times in messages to you. I will do once again. Ben Klassen. I recommend that you review the last two revisions to the article before threatening me with sanctions. You do want to be considered objective, right? Lars Frierson (talk) 06:34, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe I'll investigate it further, maybe I won't. But you have now been warned about WP:POINT, so please take that warning to heart. El_C 06:36, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Iam not reverting anything, am I? Wjy don't you assume good faith, per Wikipedia policy and stop eating the newbies, or whatever it is called? Look up the recent edits to Ben Klassen. There is nothing at all wrong with my source. It is an accepted reference on the subject of white supremacy. Lars Frierson (talk) 06:41, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
You reverted me twice, which was disruptive. So, please don't do that again. El_C 06:44, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Once again, you are deflecting from the question. Lars Frierson (talk) 06:48, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Oh? How so? El_C 06:49, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
You are NOt this stupid. Read the recent revisions of Ben Klassen. Maybe you ARE this stupid. Lars Frierson (talk)
Further personal attacks will result in sanctions. You seem to suffer from the misapprehension that just because I reverted the IP on that talk page I am now obliged to investigate your dispute — I assure you that this is not the case. El_C 06:54, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Are you suffering from the delusion that I will not report your multiple personal attacks on me? I am asking you to objectively investigate a dispute. apparently you are a privileged Wikipedian to who the rules for "commoners" don't apply. Lars Frierson (talk) 06:58, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
That is plainly false, I have not personally attacked you. Certainly, you are free to report anything in any forum you see fit. El_C 07:00, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
