Ray Royer

[edit]

I'm wondering if you could explain why my argument for keeping the Ray Royer page was rejected. As I understand it WP:MUSIC states that he heeds to have "had a record certified gold or higher in at least one country" and "A Whiter Shade of Pale" has done exactly that. So what was the problem?

I also left a question about checking how noteworthy his work in "Freedom" and "Nerosubianco" are. This was important as it showed noteworthiness beyond Procol_Harum (ie linking back to the Procol page was not the right thing to do, IF they are important enough). Do you have any suggestions on checking this?

I'm not seeking to have the decision reversed, just understand why it was made. Thanks. Stormcloud (talk) 19:36, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

thanks for your comments; I'll ask User_talk:MBisanz for his opinion. cheers. —Preceding unsigned comment added by StormCloud (talkcontribs) 19:15, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

John Odom

[edit]

I think common sense would tell us that probably nine out of ten people who come to WP for John Odom, meaning Blue Moon Odom, would likely search by the nickname. That's what everyone knew him as, you know?

Just my two cents, however. --InDeBiz1 Review me! / Talk to me! 21:31, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure if you noticed, but there was no previous AfD discussion for the article, so WP:CSD#G4 doesn't apply. BradV 03:31, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's okay. It's a really common mistake. G4 only applies to AfDs, not to material previously speedied or prodded. BradV 03:34, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Woodburning stove

[edit]

That was a quick creation of the redirect! Did you see my post at WT:CSD, or did you just notice one of the redlinks that had been left behind? Carcharoth (talk) 18:11, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Page Deletion Pseudooridundus

[edit]

I apologize for the mentioned flaws in my page... There will be now hits on google because the novel is either published, or fully written yet. But I will create a page for James M. McGee (the author) and Larvae (the book). Thank you for your concern... --Coalmaxwell (talk) 04:31, 14 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

[edit]
This account with this username has been blocked indefinitely because it matches the name of a well-known living individual (see our blocking and username policies for more information). If you are this individual (or this is otherwise your real name), you can contact OTRS with verification, or simply register a username not based on your name. Keep in mind that the practice of blocking such usernames is to protect you from being impersonated; not to discourage you from editing Wikipedia.

You are encouraged to create a new account and contribute to Wikipedia under an appropriate username. Our username policy provides guidance on selecting your username.

Alternately, you may request a change in username if you want to keep the contributions from this account. To do so, please follow these directions:

  1. Add {{unblock-un|your new username here}} below. This is possible because even when you are blocked, you can still edit your own talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked.
  3. You will have 24 hours after the unblock to file a request before you may be re-blocked. Please note, you may only request a name that is not already in use; do not create the new account then request a name change. For more information, please visit Wikipedia:Changing username.

In many cases (especially if your account has few or no edits), it is much easier to create a new account. You may also edit Wikipedia without creating an account. Due to Wikipedia's mechanism for enforcing name changes, your IP address may be temporarily blocked. Unless you have also been engaging in vandalism or impersonation of another user, we will remove that block as soon as possible.

If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below or emailing the administrator who blocked you.

Hi, I'm pondering contesting the PROD on the reasoning that representing one's country in international encounters, even on the junior level, might actually fit the spirit of WP:ATHLETE - or rather, I'd like to see that point clarified through consensus in an AfD. Any thoughts about this? MLauba (talk) 22:05, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please feel free to contest it and list on AfD. I agree that the point should be clarified. HeureusementIci (talk) 01:28, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Done, listed at AfD under Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Indika Wettasinghe. Cheers. MLauba (talk) 06:51, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Substing Template:COI

[edit]

Hey I just wanted to let you know that in this recent edit you subst'ed the template {{COI}} on the article Anthony Caruana. Usually, maintenance templates and other notices like that in the Article namespace aren't subst'ed. I went ahead and unsubst'ed the template for you, but please keep this in mind for future reference. Thanks! --- cymru.lass (hit me up)(background check) 23:48, 27 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Lars Ljungqvist has been proposed for deletion because, under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. --Sp33dyphil ©hatontributions 22:58, 26 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
