A tag has been placed on Gillingham Local Roots, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. -

November 2013[edit]

Please do not use Wikipedia to promote businesses, such as you did in the article Gillingham, Kent. Wikipedia is not the Yellow pages. If you want to list a company for potential customers to find, please consider alternative outlets. Thank you. -

Notability[edit]

Hi Laws147. Thanks for taking the time to edit Wikipedia. Unfortunately local gardening clubs are extremely unlikely to be important enough to include here and as a result I have deleted Gillingham Local Roots. There would need to be several articles about it in national newspapers before we include an article. You can read more about what is required to start an article about an organisation at WP:CORP and WP:MFA. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks SmartSE (talk) 23:18, 10 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Gillingham Local Roots isn't a gardening club. Also I have found on Wikipedia, Rocks Community Garden and Governor's Community Garden. Please can you explain both of these being on there?Laws147 (talk) 23:28, 10 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Other stuff exists. Each article is evaluated on its own merits, not based on what similar topics have articles. —C.Fred (talk) 23:30, 10 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Rocks Community Garden has one sentence of information and a link for one reference. I don't understand how this can be justified and the Gillingham Local Roots page couldn'tLaws147 (talk) 23:36, 10 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
