Hi LawyerDvRao/ Thanks so much for your input. I AM new here and I'm trying to be a good contributor and understand the process so I bare to stand a little education on how to be successful at creating good contributions. In the creation of the page, I included links to articles written by the Los Angeles Times, a reliable news source in the United States. I also linked to a body called The Editors Guild which, I believe is an official organization amongst film editors in the United States. I also included an external link to IMDB.com, a site whos staff verify every credit that is added to their site. So I guess I'm still wondering why wiki still needs "reliable sources"

It could be that all my work is good and an administrator is required to go through it to remove flags and perhaps that is a routine process. Either way, I'm just trying to understand the process and it would be great to get some feedback.

Thank you!!

Please guide me to replace lawyerdvrao as dvrao. Lawyerdvrao is a username.

While I am not an administrator, I can direct you to the page to request a new username here. Also note that the reason I marked your page for speedy deletion is not the username. I marked it because the page is basically a self-advertisement. Pending Administrator review, the page may be deleted entirely if it isn't fixed. See here for the reason I marked your page. You may also want to read through some of the material I've linked right above this section for more information on what you can do on Wikipedia. -- Gestrid (talk) 00:50, 13 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like someone already deleted your userpage. If you would like to create another one, please read through the various policies, etc., that we have in place. Also, I would like to warn you that if you just recreate the page as it was before it was deleted (as you seem to have done twice before, according to the deletion log of your userpage), you risk getting blocked from editing. -- Gestrid (talk) 00:54, 13 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Book references[edit]

Please use {{cite book}} This has an "|ISBN=" field and it will allow one to use a book search engine. Very handy. Cite book can be used alone or inside a <ref>{{cite book ...}</ref> Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 06:27, 13 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Autobiographies[edit]

Information icon Please do not write or add to an article about yourself, as you apparently did at D.V. Rao. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Jim1138 (talk) 06:31, 13 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on D.V. Rao requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. A tag has been placed on File:DVRao.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy by adding commentary and your personal analysis into articles, as you did at D.V. Rao, you may be blocked from editing. RA0808 talkcontribs 17:49, 13 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of D.V. Rao[edit]

The article D.V. Rao has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Largely unsourced WP:AUTOBIO that would need to be fundamentally rewritten to meet standards

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Nomination of D.V. Rao for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article D.V. Rao is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/D.V. Rao until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. RA0808 talkcontribs 18:26, 13 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on D.V. Rao, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". June 2016[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Dr d v rao a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. The linked article, Dr d v rao, is now a redirect to the original article. Gestrid (talk) 03:08, 14 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest[edit]

Hi Dr Rao. So you are a lawyer, and surely you understand the concept of "conflict of interest", right? Well we have a guideline on that and you are wildly violating it. Please read WP:COI - you should not be directly creating and editing articles about yourself.

Would you please reply here and acknowledge that you have read WP:COI and that you will stop violating it? Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 05:47, 14 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Dr Sir,

I Ms. G. Bhargavi, CAO, M/s DVRao Advocates,Supreme Court of India hereby informed you that as per your advice we read[[WP:COI] and has taken all steps to stop violations (if any).

Thank you for your reply, but it is dismaying. It is not ambiguous that you have been violating the spirit and letter of COI - there is no "if any" about it.
You have also been violating our policy against editing under multiple accounts by creating and using the User:Dr d v rao account and you have violated our guideline about creating articles by creating the duplicate Dr d v rao article. You have disrupted Wikipedia a great deal. I have filed what we call a "sockpuppet investigation" (SPI) against you and both of those accounts and your IP address are probably going to be indefinitely blocked soon. After you are blocked the only way you can be unblocked is to acknowledge what you have done wrong (violating the WP:PROMO policy by abusing WIkipedia for self-promotion, the WP:SOCK policy for using multiple accounts, the WP:REDUNDANTFORK guideline in your creation of the duplicate article, and the WP:COI guideline as described above) and promise to stop doing all these bad things here.
Finally, it appears that the use of this account violates our WP:USERNAME policy as you signed your name as "Ms. G. Bhargavi, " above but this account name signifies it belongs to Dr Rao. So it is either impersonating him or it is an invalid corporate account. So many problems.... there is a learning curve for Wikipedia but you have been going way too fast and aggressively. Jytdog (talk) 06:15, 14 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Sir,

The account is belongs to me only. It is my personal only. But, it is my a habitual action that I frequently uses the words we, us etc. However, mistakenly, the name of Bhargavi is mentioned in a bit of confusion. But it is confirm that the acoount is belongs to lawyerdvrao.

However, I am requesting you to remove the notice tags at the earliest.

My sincere thanks for your very sincere support.

Regards

Dear Sir,

Kindly remove the "page issues" tags at the earliest.

Ragards

Unfortunately, you possibly having a corporate account is not the only issue. You also attempted to advertise yourself by creating a Wikipedia page about yourself, and, when we found it and attempted to delete it, you created another account, User:Dr d v rao, and copied the contents of the page we are trying to delete to another page. Creating another user (which is fine by itself) for the sole purpose of doing something like that is something we on Wikipedia call "sockpuppetry," and it is strictly forbidden.
Besides, you already submitted an unblock request. If you are attempting to post your request here, it will most likely get denied because you did not submit this one the right way. The one you submitted to the Unblock Ticket Request System is being looked at.
