Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Ayr Racecourse. Your edits continue to appear to constitute vandalism and have been automatically reverted.

  • If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Note that human editors do monitor recent changes to Wikipedia articles, and administrators have the ability to block users from editing if they repeatedly engage in vandalism.
  • ClueBot NG makes very few mistakes, but it does happen. If you believe the change you made should not have been considered as unconstructive, please read about it, report it here, remove this warning from your talk page, and then make the edit again.
  • If you need help, please see our help pages, and if you can't find what you are looking for there, please feel free to place {{Help me}} on your talk page and someone will drop by to help.
  • The following is the log entry regarding this warning: Ayr Racecourse was changed by Ayr Racecourse (u) (t) ANN scored at 0.852808 on 2015-12-18T11:35:46+00:00 .

Thank you. ClueBot NG (talk) 11:35, 18 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your username

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created Ayr Racecourse, and I noticed that your username, "Ayr Racecourse", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Trammel Museum of Art". However, you are invited to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally, such as "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "Jack Smith at the XY Foundation", and "WidgetFan87".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. Moreover, I recommend that you read our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please create a new account or request a change of username, by completing this form, that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 11:41, 18 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia, as you did at Ayr Racecourse, you may be blocked from editing. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 11:42, 18 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

If you are attempting to make some sort of change to the article, it would be helpful if you could describe what it is, either on this page, the article talk page, or the edit summary. 331dot (talk) 11:44, 18 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing, because this account has been used only for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to Wikipedia's content policy. Also, your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is against Wikipedia's policy: an account is for an individual, not a group. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a free advertising service.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of this page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

About your block: It appears that you work for the company (your former username being User:Ayr Racecourse and your only edits were to Ayr Racecourse.) and have been adding promotional content to the article on its behalf. If you wish to be unblocked, you must understand that such editing is not allowed. Could you please talk to us about your intentions here? Thanks. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 13:47, 18 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I believe Anna Frodesiak meant to say "not allowed" instead of "now allowed". 331dot (talk) 22:21, 18 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
My goodness! Thank you so much for catching that, 331dot. Almost my last edit of the day and I was tired. A thousand pardons! That is a terrible spelling error to make. Thank you again and sorry to Lbsmith1234 for the confusion. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 23:08, 18 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there, apologies for the mistake, I understand why the block was issued, I am new to wikipedia and all I wanted to do was update certain facts and figures on the page that were incorrect or outdated, but understand now I should have made that clearer in the edit summary etc, apologies again.Lbsmith1234 (talk) 11:12, 21 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I understand. It is okay. So, what would you like to do now? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 11:16, 21 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It would be great if you could advice how best to go about requesting that information in the facts and figures section be updated and made factually correct and some races added into the notable races section as they are missing, this is not for promotional reasons whatsoever, we just want the page to be correct and up to date. Your advice would be much appreciated. Lbsmith1234 (talk) 11:22, 21 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I can unblock you. But, it is important, considering that you likely work for the place, to understand a few things. Here are some important pages to read:
Also, I did not check, but the content you added before looked like it was copy pasted from somewhere. You must write in your own words based on reliable sources. Also, please read WP:POV. You must write neutrally. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 11:39, 21 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much, I will read all of this over and seek guidance if I am unsure when making changes. Thank you again for the advice I really appreciate it.Lbsmith1234 (talk) 11:50, 21 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
You are most welcome. I've unblocked you. Happy editing. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 11:56, 21 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and if you are reverted, please discuss things at the article's talk page rather that reverting yourself as can be seen here. Best, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 11:57, 21 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
