Edit warring

Hi LearnIndology! It looks like you want to repeatedly add content or reorganise the article about ancient institutes of learning in Pakistan according to your preference. Note that this article was meant about institutes in Pakistan only; if you add all institutes in wider south Asian region, then creating new article is suggested. At the time being; I am undoing all your edits to the original form. Kindly refrain from edit warring on Wikipedia. Thank you. Aglrochisat (talk) 20:22, 9 May 2021 (UTC)

@Aglrochisat: The article Institutions of learning in Pakistan during antiquity has not been touched. You reverted me on wrong page. LearnIndology (talk) 20:38, 9 May 2021 (UTC)

Hello! Your submission of Culture of Ladakh at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) at your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Kavyansh.Singh (talk) 05:59, 18 May 2021 (UTC)

@LearnIndology Regarding the article, I think that there is still many topics to be covered. Kindly refer to similar articles like Culture of Mumbai, Culture of Arkansas, etc. for seeing the format of article and more diverse topics to be added. I suggest the following addition in the article:
  • Adding various different sections like Cuisine, Clothing, Food, etc.
  • Religious texts and books, influence of Buddhism and Tibet on Ladakh's culture.
  • Increasing scope of sections like Dance forms and Music.
  • Janet Rizvi’s following book (1999) analysed Ladakh’s Trans-Himalayan Caravans and the “merchant princes and peasant traders” who managed the region’s commerce.[1] Kavyansh.Singh (talk) 08:21, 18 May 2021 (UTC)

Regarding DYK nomination of Culture of Ladakh

Hello!

Your DYK nomination for Culture of Ladakh is approved. There are a couple of issues I fixed that I'll want to draw to your attention. There is space after the ellipsis in the hook, which was initially missing (I have edited it, its fine now). The hook mentioned must be present in the article with citation. Kindly refer to DYK Supplementary guidelines for other guidelines. Thankyou!

Kavyansh.Singh (talk) 15:27, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

Thank you, I have fixed it. LearnIndology (talk) 15:49, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

DYK for Culture of Ladakh

On 18 June 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Culture of Ladakh, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. Repeated violation of WP:BLP by the unsourced addition of "She has been engaging in prejudiced commentary on Hinduism." Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 07:56, 18 July 2021 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Joshua Jonathan -Let's talk! 08:29, 18 July 2021 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for July 19

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Himalayas, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Manali. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Question.

Why are you keep removing Hindko as a Gandharan language when Hindko literally derived from Prakrit and Hindkowans are the native people of kpk(Gandhara)? Insha22 (talk) 06:46, 29 July 2021 (UTC)

Regarding your revert here, I don't understand what did you mean, there is nothing related to this on the talk page, can you explain to me what do you mean? --Averroes 22 (talk) 18:04, 8 August 2021 (UTC)

How does this happen? You have reverted my edit before he wrote that. Did he ask you to undo my edit outside of Wikipedia? --Averroes 22 (talk) 19:50, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
Do you have the WP:COMPETENCE do edit here? Your edits were questioned as soon as the thread was opened, well before I reversed your changes. Continue with this and you'll be at WP:ARE. LearnIndology (talk) 20:05, 8 August 2021 (UTC)

Hi, you were one among the contributors of the page "Religion of the Indus valley civilization", a certain user named "trengabellam" has changed each and every point into his/her/their narrative without proper citations or discussions. And all the existing citations seems to have been edited off by "trengabellam", the same user has made similar disruptive changes in other Wikipedia articles as well without discussing about the changes that he/she/they are gonna make. Changes span from 100 to 200 edits(to avoid getting reverted?) Ie.., the user completely changes the article and the edits made by other users with no discussions or in some cases, without providing proper citations. Is it possible for you to report it? As I'm a new user, I don't have that privilege as of now. Thank you! Jai Bhavani(Hail the Goddess) (talk) 09:15, 13 August 2021 (UTC)

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Raksha Bandhan shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Help needed

Hi, recently a month ago I made some edits in Gandhara and I removed some information without noticing regarding languages surrounding Gandhara which led to further disputes by a random user after. Can you lead to the talk page of User:Uanfala to further discuss about it. I'm trying to restore some details in the article that were removed by me but he keeps undoing it. Kind Regards. Maues768 (talk) 17:20, 20 August 2021 (UTC)

@Maues768: Hey, If you are talking about this edit then medium.com is not WP:RS. LearnIndology (talk) 16:32, 20 August 2021 (UTC)
@LearnIndology: Yes, but I'm stating this to avoid the misconception that Gandhara was inhabited by the precursors of modern day Pashtuns. We all know that Kpk and Peshawar are now pashtun dominated areas and it's to make it clear that they settled there after. Maues768 (talk) 17:54, 20 August 2021 (UTC)
@LearnIndology: Hey, you didn't reply to me. Can I proceed to restore it now [1].[2] Maues768 (talk) 20:46, 25 August 2021 (UTC)

The term Hindko as used in Pakistan refers to speakers of Indo-Aryan languages who live among the primarily Iranian Pashtuns of the North-West Frontier Province (NWFP). The origins of the term refer merely to "Indian speaking" rather than to any particular ethnic group. Nonetheless there are people in the region who claim Hindko identity and who trace their heritage back nearly 2,000 years to the inhabitants of the ancient city of Gandhara.
