English to Sinhala translation[edit]
I began a machine translate of Door County, Wisconsin and have been working on it at si:විකිපීඩියා:වැලිපිල්ල (beneath the ipad stuff). Someone is trying to break into my account again with huge number of attempts this time. Is there a way to block that device from doing so? --Lee (talk) 12:26, 9 January 2021 (UTC)
- I'll leave your request open for others to look at in case they know, but I am not aware of a way to prevent others from attempting to log in to your account. The only thing you can do is make sure that your password is strong and perhaps enable two factor authentication if you haven't already. You might also want to consider abandoning this account and creating a new one if for some reason you are being targeted. 331dot (talk) 12:34, 9 January 2021 (UTC)

- Your options are listed at Wikipedia:Compromised accounts#Counter-measures. I'm sure it'd technically be possible (for one of WMF system administrators) to prevent a specific device from attempting to log into a specific account but it would make no sense; it's exceptionally easy to spoof your user agent, get a proxy and voilà!, the restriction is gone. Why newly created Wikipedia pages are not appearing in google search results?[edit]
I recently created the page Tennyson Perera. But unfortunately it's not appearing in google search results, though it can be accessed by searching for it within the Wikipedia. How can I make it appear in google search results? (When I created the page Raj Somadeva, such a thing wasn't happened, as I can remember.) Sasithmadu (talk) 02:19, 21 December 2021 (UTC)
- I'm not sure on this. May be there is a delay associated with google updating their indexes. It seems "si:ටෙනිසන් පෙරේරා" is shown properly in google search; isn't it?--Lee (talk) 03:46, 21 December 2021 (UTC)
