Macklemore[edit]

Hello, thanks for posting on my talk page about my edits. The IPA that I used is based on the cited source you've provided. The space you've added after the first syllable is only used separate words and not to indicate syllables. In cases where syllables aren't clear you can use a dot. The ʌ contradicts the pronunciation respelling. Clearly the e is pronounced with a neutral sound (ə) and not a u sound (ʌ). The cited source certainly doesn't say it should be a u sound. I've gone ahead and changed it to /ˈmæk.ləˌmɔr/. Interesting the cited source actually says it should be pronounced "Mack-lé-more". It's a little unclear how é is pronounced. In both French and Spanish it is pronounced like e in IPA, like in my original edits. However to be honest that was just a typo on my part. Awesome! It looks great now; without the dot, it kind of looked like the first two syllables were all one syllable, which was a concern because a common mispronunciation of the name is making the first two syllables rhyme with "tackle", and without the dot readers unfamiliar with IPA (including myself, apparently!) might have taken it as representing that pronunciation. (Wow, that sentence was incredibly unwieldy.) Thank you for correcting my IPA—that was my first attempt at ever representing a pronunciation with IPA.
