June 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Mattythewhite. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Robert Lewandowski, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Mattythewhite (talk) 17:16, 3 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Robert Lewandowski, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Mattythewhite (talk) 17:42, 3 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Editors are expected to treat each other with respect and civility. Please stop adding unreferenced or poorly referenced biographical content, especially if controversial, to articles or any other Wikipedia page, as you did at Brandin Podziemski. Content of this nature could be regarded as defamatory and is in violation of Wikipedia policy. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. – 2.O.Boxing 12:38, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Brandin Podziemski. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.2.O.Boxing 12:38, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Podziemski is not yet a Polish citizen[edit]

In the references you added to Brandin Podziemski it says he is considering playing for Poland in the future, but he does not currently have a Polish passport. So while is of Polish descent (which is what he means when saying "I'm Polish"–stating that you are X nationality is a common way of stating your ancestry in the United States) he is not yet a Polish citizen and stating that he is would violate WP:TOOSOON. Additionally, we don't need to add every detail or thing a subject says as it tends to bog the prose of the article down and that he'd like to play with Jeremy Sochan isn't particularly important overall. If you continue to revert back and add information that the sources do not support you may be blocked from editing. If/when he does gain Polish citizenship and there are reliable sources supporting it, then that can be added to the article. Let me know if you have any questions. Introduction to contentious topics[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to Eastern Europe or the Balkans, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially-designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in Russo-Ukrainian war. Due to past disruption in this topic area, the community has authorised uninvolved administrators to impose contentious topics restrictions—such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks—on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, expected standards of behaviour, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on these sanctions. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Request reason:

i been blocked for this edition [1] so if the song having Bandera in title Our father is Bandera dont have any link to Stepan Bandera and maybe its try to make it looks its about flag in Spanish, its like in Moves like Jagger had no link to Mick Jagger. First links to Nazi collaborator and nationalist Stepan Bandera were removed, now its claims that its Russian propaganda that it used it. No its intitle and its praising this figure and its part of Bandera cult at Ukraine. @Courcelles write that im here "clearly not to build an encyclopedia", but im here exactly for that. He by other way by removing link to Stepan Bandera at song article having in title is clearly a whitewashing and trying to cenzorship and spread propaganda. I know the true is first victim of war, but here if he dont like the true is worst for the true and it just get errased. No link to Stepsn Bandera in song about him is like no link to Mick Jagger in Moves like Jagger is ridiculous and he is doing whitewashing and I get blocked? Are you kidding me? Leocadii (talk) 11:55, 27 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You are prohibited from editing in this topic area, broadly construed (WP:GS/RUSUKR); I'll add my usual advice in a new section below. Your behavior before the block was disruptive, and the edit summary of Special:Diff/1167283508 was less ambiguous than erroneous. You'll need to accept others reading it as what it says instead of questioning their English knowledge. Combined with the edit summary of Special:Diff/1167283836, you seem to have used Wikipedia as a battleground.

As the block is about your behavior, not others' behavior, you'll need to address these issues without blaming others for them. You should ideally also provide examples of helpful contributions that are currently prevented by the block. What would you like to do, where? Please be specific about this if you appeal the block again. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 20:26, 27 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

  • No, you are blocked for, among other things, calling other editors Nazis. Courcelles (talk) 13:46, 27 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    • "stop your whitewashing (of) Nazi collaborator", do you read English? I didnt call any other editor Nazis, i call out his whitewashing and Stepan Bandera is the Nazi collaborator that he was whitwashing, there is no calling anyone Nazi. Could you stop your ad hitlerum argument and talk ad rem about to explain why you also take part in whitewashing and remove link to Stepan Bandera in song article with him in title? You think is avouy bandera (flag in Spanish)? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Leocadii (talkcontribs) 14:04, 27 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

My usual advice about the extended-confirmed restriction[edit]

Hi Leocadii,

I have noticed that you have recently edited pages related to the Russo-Ukrainian War. Please note that, due to community consensus documented at WP:GS/RUSUKR, only extended-confirmed editors may make such edits.

When in doubt, please assume that a topic is covered by this restriction. We call this "broadly construed". If this still leaves you unsure about whether a topic is affected by the restriction, feel free to ask on my talk page.

This is not widely announced to newcomers, so I'm not blaming or condemning you for not knowing about this. I'm also not saying that your editing has been problematic in any other way. Your edit may well have been perfectly fine in all other regards, yet may have been removed for this reason.

Additionally, Wikipedia's Arbitration Committee has recognized "Eastern Europe or the Balkans" as a generally contentious topic area. Don't worry: The restriction to extended-confirmed editors is about the Russo-Ukrainian War, not the entirety of Eastern Europe and the Balkans. The box below contains standardized advice for everyone.

[Duplicate of SamX's 22:45, 26 July 2023 message above removed]

This may be confusing, so I'll attempt to summarize it:

  • Only extended-confirmed editors may edit pages related to the Russo-Ukrainian War. Details and exceptions can be found at WP:GS/RUSUKR.
  • All edits about Eastern Europe and the Balkans, by all users, need to be done with extra care.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if there are any questions.

Best regards,
~ ToBeFree (talk) 20:29, 27 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Dear @ToBeFree How could i "let you know" on your discussion page if im still blocked. Im not interested in doing any editions around that war. I only put link to Stepan Bandera in article about song about him. He was whitewashed from this article and i was blocked for preventing the cenzorship.

About Shevchenko article please notice that @Lute88 is not taking part in discussion and is pushing his agenda. Even in article Ukrainians you had written that it is 20 century term and he using it for 19 century figure. Before he was doing it with 17 century Mazepa, its nothing antiukrainian in saying he was Ruthenian, it is just accurate, historical term. Im not using wikipedia as battleplace, really please look in discussion of Taras article, there are arguments snd @Lute88 is avoiding it and reverting without discusion, why you im am under attack and blocked, but not him. I even didn't get any warning.
