Hi Leonid, I hope this reaches you.

For I suppose masochistic reasons, I just looked in at plasma cosmology and its discussion and noticed you. I'd like to chat about your interest in plasma cosmology. You can reach me at elerner@igc.org. As you no doubt noticed, I'm banned from editing any wikipedia article that I know something about, on the grounds that my expertise is a conflict of interest. Have you visited the www.cosmology.info website?

Regards, Eric Lerner

Sockpuppet[edit]

I sure will feel silly if you are exonerated, but at this point that seems very unlikely. Art LaPella 07:06, 10 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Removing sockpuppet tag per this Checkuser result showing Leokor to be unrelated to Iantresman. Cardamon 07:39, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is this how you see it, then?[edit]

Continued from Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/Iantresman, because I'm not sure if this kind of debate is appropriate for that page. No, that matter was not somehow "already decided". I have never communicated with mainstream cosmology advocates except on Wikipedia pages you can read yourself. I promoted this investigation by myself, even though at one point it seemed to be dead just because I couldn't figure out the CheckUser procedure. The very phrase "that one side of the plasma cosmology/mainstream vendetta has once again outmuscled the other" implies that I often distrust each side's commitment to objective truth (some individuals in particular). Would you rather I said that Applecola was banned just to censor plasma cosmology? That seems very unlikely, and anyway I would need some very solid evidence indeed to make that accusation. So instead I said that going through with a CheckUser would prevent anyone from suspecting that accusation is true. As for my evidence against you, I certainly thought it was considerable, but I have been proven wrong. Art LaPella 04:58, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

But CheckUser was not performed. So why was Applecola banned? --Leokor 16:12, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The CheckUser instructions say not to use it in case of obvious sockpuppetry. Raul654, who has presumably played this game far more often than I have, must have considered it obvious. Art LaPella 17:27, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

MastCell says that a CheckUser was performed on Tsyko in connection with the Martinphi-ScienceApologist case. The way to confirm this would be to ask Raul654 directly. (CheckUser can also be done in connection with Arbcom cases.) Cardamon 19:34, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. Although I got the details wrong, this confirms my main point: Ian had some nerve wanting to be released from a ban he was in the very process of evading. I'm glad I bumbled my way through this process, so I could help arrive at that finding. Art LaPella 20:44, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
