- Hi, "they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia" is very unclear to me, please help to explain it explicitly. For "Caesar III" topic, a computer game in 1998, about 25 years ago, it has many limitations, those two open source projects which I have mentioned, just extend and help the game to be played in many scopes, which was not supported by the original game/producer/publisher. --Liang Liangqi (talk) 12:21, 5 October 2023 (UTC)
- Hi Lianqqi, the article on Caesar III doesn't necessarily should need external links like github pages. Wikipedia is written for the general reader and any external links should point readers to more additional sources of information, like an official website, perhaps a MobyGames page or an in-depth review. But Linking to a github open source implementation is only of interest to a very small group of people, who not only own the game but also are tech savvy enough to run the game. - Hi, Soetermans, are you a player of that game? Do you know which Windows version was it at 25 years ago? How big the window of the game is it? And could you run the game on latest PC? and etc. Just like is there anyone really prefer to watch a real VCD(352×240) window on a 4k or 8k screen nowadays?
- Those open source implementations are best replacement, they have binaries which support latest Windows/macOS/Linux and etc, perhaps there are some attempts on Android and iOS too. And one of them is also growing with new features which original game doesn't have.

- System requirements have been deprecated ages ago, and those aren't listed. Wikipedia is written for a general reader audience and not for people remotely familiar with video games, let alone a very specific one. And for people who are interested in trying to run an old game on modern platforms and software, the internet's a big place. We do not have to point to those kind of websites. Similarly, we don't link to websites that list cheatcodes or gameguides. I am not a player of Caesar III, no. - Those two GitHub projects are neither cheat code nor game guides, they are new life of Caesar III, perhaps it should have an Evolution section somewhere.
