Welcome
[edit]Hello, Lillyanacut! Welcome to Wikipedia! It appears that you are here to participate in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to go through our training for students.
If you need help, check out Wikipedia's page for questions. You can also ask me by visiting my user talk page and leaving a message, or you can ask your question on this page by editing it and placing {{Help me}}
before your question. Please make sure that you sign your messages on discussion pages, which is done by entering four tildes (~~~~) at the very end of it; this will automatically insert your username and the date. I also highly recommend that you review the advice for students page.
Before you create an article, make sure that you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.
Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, and if your class doesn't already have one, please tell your instructor about creating one. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}}
on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know that the article is a subject of an educational assignment as well as aid your communication with them.
Here are some more pages that you might find helpful:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- How to edit a page (editing policy)
- Introduction to Wikipedia
- Help pages index
- Visual editor tutorial
- Wikitext tutorial (if you're choosing to edit pages using the Wikitext source code instead of the VisualEditor)
- Wikitext cheatsheet
While editing:
- Maintain a neutral point of view – this is one of Wikipedia's core policies.
- Be bold, but do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, libel, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject; doing so will result in your account or IP being blocked from editing.
- Respect copyrights – do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
- No edit warring or abuse of multiple accounts.
- Provide reliable sources to the content you add. If you are adding biomedical information, please follow this guideline.
- Take particular care while adding biographical material about a living person to any Wikipedia page and follow Wikipedia's Biography of Living Persons policy. Particularly, controversial and negative statements should be referenced with multiple reliable sources.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay even after your assignment is finished!

Gelsen Gas
[edit]Hey, there is already an article for Gelsen Gas: Gelsen Gas. You should not keep moving your draft into various places into the article/main space, as you've now done three times.
We're not, in general, supposed to move articles back out of main space multiple times (per WP:DRAFTOBJECT) so if you don't move it, it likely will be deleted. I'm offering this to help and give you a good path forward. Let me know if you have any questions or, if it's still unmarked for deletion, want me to assist you in moving it, please WP:ping me. - Lillyanacut, I think there is a slight misunderstanding about your WikiEd assignment. While your week 14 assignment says to "move" your work to the mainspace, if you go to that link and click the start button, the training module makes clear in section two that you should just make your changes to the existing article rather than moving the sandbox. (Wikipedia has a policy against having two articles for the same topic, so moving your sandbox to a duplicate article wouldn't work.) SilverLocust 💬 23:56, 9 May 2024 (UTC)
- Lillyanacut, after you moved your article to mainspace again, I have merged some of its content to Gelsen Gas and turned your article into a redirect to that page. If you're interested in continuing to edit on this topic, I strongly recommend that you do it there. The revision history of your draft can be viewed at Ángel Gas. Please do not restore this page again or it may be nominated for deletion as a duplicate of an existing article. Let me know if you have any questions. —TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 04:31, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
