There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Alexf(talk) 00:08, 29 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

The username has been successfully changed but wanted to provide more info -- the account was not created to promote but rather to create a page for an organization already mentioned in Wikipedia posts, to provide needed context for users. I disclosed as requested so there is no confusion.

Accept reason:

Carry on. Please, as you noted below, avoid editing under a conflict of interest. -- Jayron32 16:37, 11 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • The text of the draft you created was promotionally worded (eg "...is the nation's leading multidisciplinary organization dedicated to..."), but that's not really surprising as it was copied from what is essentially a PR release here (with just a few minor changes). That also makes it a copyright violation (and I have deleted it because of that), which is something else you would need to address if you want to be unblocked. {{unblock-spamun|This account was originally created to add a page for the organization I work for. Now that I better understand Wikipedia's rules, this account will not be used for that purpose. I will instead make edits to the pages of entities I am unaffiliated with, if I see that edits are needed. I understand why I was blocked and will not use this account for the same type of edits in the future.}}

Note: Closed the above duplicate request. Consulting blocking administrator for input prior to unblocking. --Jayron32 16:33, 11 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
