I think what you're planning on doing for the article sounds great. Since Lyng v. Northwest is a new article, it is good that you explicitly state what you will be working on i.e. the background and events leading up to the case. This is especially important, because i have found that other articles on Indian Law gloss over the background of the case and just focus on the court's decision. That in and of itslef is fine, but if you are to understand the case, the question that the court was trying to answer, the court's answer, and how the court arrived at that answer then it's imperative that you know the background of the case.
